Lloyd's POV
Now I realized that the majority of the Undead animals couldn't read the writing system of humans. I heard that only Zeke, Zane, Sati, and Xerxes could read it so far, and each Undead animal tribe has its own writing system. So, I faced an education challenge in my country. I was so focused at the economic development that I completely forgotten that integral sector of society. So far, I only gave lectures and lessons in business, trade, cooking, manufacturing, and farming, but not in literacy education.
As a result, in my office, I began to think how to tackle this important challenge, and suddenly, I had an idea. I quickly reached for a piece of paper and began writing and drafting my plan out.
Then, Zeke came to my office with some papers. "Sir, here's the latest data from the Autonomous Tribe of Kapo on trade."
Upon noticing that, I immediately asked him, "Hey, Zeke, can you bring all the writing systems of the tribes under our sovereignty?"
"Sure, why?" Zeke asked back.
"I wanted to make a standardized alpabet for general use," I responded back.
Zeke then looked at me with a surprised look on his face. "Wait, what?"
I then looked at him. "It's because we had an education challenge. You and your grandfather can read the human writing system, right?"
"Yes, we can."
"Does most of the Undead animals had the ability to read and write?"
"For the vast majority, no. Only a tiny minority of us can."
Because of that, I repeated my order towards Zeke.
"Okay, master," Zeke replied, before leaving the papers behind and went off to get samples of the various writing systems of all the Undead animal tribes within my sovereignty.
Later, at 11 in the morning, in the meeting room, Zeke presented me with papers containing all of the autonomous tribes' local writing systems, which are different from one another. I was very intrigued so I looked at Zeke. "Thank you so much, Zeke."
"Yes, you're welcome, master," Zeke replied with a quick bow.
Then, he asked, "So, how are you going to make a standardized writing system?"
To that I began to think about it while staring at the various writing systems laid before me on the table.
I then began to figure it out and calculate things in my head.
Then, a few moments later, an idea clicked in my head.
I then glanced at Zeke. "Zeke-kun, I'll make a rough draft of the standardized writing system, and you call all of the tribal leaders so they would examine it."
"Oh, are you sure about that, sir?" Zeke asked.
"Yes, so they would see it for themselves and perhaps," I replied back, "they would make some adjustments to it. But, we will still persevere their autonomy. Is that okay?"
Eventually, as loyal as he was, Zeke agreed and left the room while I began to work on my first draft of the main writing system on a sheet of vintage paper. The process was a bit tedious, with me deciding on the modified symbols of each letter from every alphabet to make it more recognizable as possible while at the same time, combine the style of the alphabet of the humans. I made tons of mistakes, but the paper is thick so it can handle many erasures, and also, I used a charcoal pencil for drafting.
Then, at lunch time, in the dining room, I discussed this to my subordinates. They were very surprised, but were supportive of my plan because they said that they also felt that challenge in education and literacy back at their tribes.
"Man, our human leader is such a genius!" Xerxes commented.
"Yeah, that was a good idea," Sati added.
At this point, I thought, "I don't think so, guys."
And then, Laura glanced at me. "That was a great idea, master."
I then looked at her in response. "Yeah, so we can have a writing system for general use, while your tribe's writing system can be used as regional."
"Oh, fair enough."
"What it looked like?" Xerxes asked me.
"I'll show it to you after we eat."
I then resumed eating my meal.
Later, at 1 in the afternoon, at the meeting room, once the tribal leaders and my subordinates had gathered, I placed my first draft of the hybrid alphabet on the table. As soon as they look at that piece of paper, they were a bit astonished on how it turned out. I know it was my first draft, but I was a bit anxious on what they would think about it.
Then, they looked at me.
"Your alphabet looks recognizable to my tribe's writing system," the leader of the Undead bird tribe, Kenaz, commented, "but I would like to suggest some changes to the letters themselves."
"Yes, me too as well," George added.
"I had some suggestions, too, master," Xerxes added as well.
I then quickly accepted their suggestions without hesitation or contempt. "Okay, what are they?"
And so, I began to make some changes to my hybrid alphabet according to their suggestions, editing and rewriting them out.
The next day, I made a decree about the new alphabet once I officially approved it, but according to that decree, I still allowed them to use their own local alphabets as regional, and my hybrid one will be more like a secondary alphabet for them to learn, but that one is not mandatory, too.
