Gianna's pov
I am a shell of myself RightNow. I moved through my room getting dressed for work but I wasn't as active as I should have been. I looked at my watch checking the time as I walked into the cafe.
"Afternoon boss" Charlie greeted me immediately she saw me I replied with a smile. The place was filled more than usual and this was exactly what I needed if I wanted to get Nate out of my head. I changed immediately and started working.
Hours later Tamara walked in "Annyeong '' she said in her bad Korean.
I smiled "The usual?"
"Yep"she replied with a smile.
"I'll bring it over in a moment" I said
"Great cause my legs are killing me" she replied, leaving to take a seat by the window. I sighed making the coffee. Tamara had now become a supermodel and barely had time for anyone.
"Here you go"I said, placing the coffee and a cake in front of her.
"Oh my" she grinned, taking off her glasses as she ate the cake and drank the coffee "on the house right?"
"No"I replied with a smile
"Can I get a free thing" she sighed
"Rich people never get free things"
"Are we friends?"
"What do you think?"I smirked at her "What are you doing in town though"
"My mother fell sick" she sighed
"Oh my I'm so sorry" I said looking at her sadly
"Don't be it's nothing serious" she shrugged which was followed by silence from both of us. "Also..." She said
"I heard Nate's in town"
I groaned "so?"
"So?" She asked with disbelief repeating what I said "What do you mean "so?" I mean you've been waiting for this six years and you've even been fucking counting it"
"What?" I asked surprised
"Why so surprised? It's on your calendar just because I don't say it doesn't mean I don't see it" She rolled her eyes "Shouldn't you be in his arms right now?"
Before I could say anything, someone else was replying to her "Be in whose arms?"
We both turned to see Maria. She was right behind us. I just hoped she didn't hear the other part of this conversation.
"Hey Maria you look good today" Tamara said sipping her coffee
"Hello" She replied back with a fake smile while Tamara rolled her eyes
"How long have you been behind us" I asked
"Not too long I just got here as you can see" she paused "Who were you guys talking about?"
"Someone you don't need to know about" Tamara said pushing the now empty cake plate aside
"Huh? But if it's about Gianna I can know right? I mean we are best friends" Maria replied
"Yeah best friends but you still can't know about it" Tamara laughed
Maria looked at me while I just shrugged, giving her an awkward smile.
"Well Gianna I'll see you later we've got a lot to talk about maybe tomorrow?" Tamara asked standing up as she got ready to leave
"Sure"I replied with a smile
"Well dearest Maria" Tamara paused "I'll be leaving so you could have time with your best friend" she smirked putting on her glasses "Bye"
"Ugggh" Maria groaned frustratedly "Are you really not gonna tell me what you guys were talking about?"
"Sorry" I replied with a shrugged
"Whatever" she replied rolling her eyes "I need a to go coffee 2 Americano 1 caffe latte and 1 cafe au pair"
"Coming right up" I replied going back to the counter to prepare the coffee "Here you go" I said giving her some macaroons
"Thank you" She replied with a genuine smile
"Always welcomed" I replied going back to the coffee machine
A little while later she said "You know I saw Nate yesterday"
I freezed. I really don't wanna do this right now.
"The idiot kept drinking talking shit! You know I heard he was cheating on his girl"
"Cheating? Nate has a girl?" I asked
"Yeah, surprised right? She threw him out yesterday annoyed" she paused eating "Poor girl. Who would even want to date that public toilet?"
What? Public toilet? I glared at the coffee I was making annoyed. Control yourself.
"All through highschool that bastard was missing classes continuously all because he had to put his weenie in a hole"
"Weenie?" I asked quietly handing her the coffee while she paid
"Yeah I mean Bridget said she tried sleeping with him in highschool but he's stuff was too fucking small"
"Bridget? You mean that cheerleader?"
"Yeah" she replied "I can't even believe anybody would want that type of weenie but yet he's girlfriend accepted him and he still cheated on her..."
"Maria"I said cutting her short " There's a line behind you"
"Oh my God I'm so sorry" she apologized leaving "Bye"I waved back
"Can I take your order?"I said to the next person as I continued working. Maria was so fucking annoying sometimes but I still loved her. But seriously, my man a weenie? My man a weenie? What the actual fuck? I had slept with this guy all through highschool and heard stupid rumors about him but this was the most stupid I had heard. Just when did he get it on with Bridget?
"Bye boss" The workers said as they left
"Boss" Jeremy said before leaving. He was the last person still here apart from myself. "Go home and get a good rest, I don't know what's bothering you but you've been a bit annoyed all day and it's obvious"
If there's actually any of my part time work I was close to it was definitely Jeremy. When I found out he was going through problems at home I had to help . The dude has to take care of five siblings all alone. I also knew when he didn't want a girlfriend because of this but the girl he liked or rather who liked him was different she wouldn't take no for an answer before he knew it she was already talking to his siblings.
"Makena is probably waiting for you" I said knowing Makena's temper "Better get going before she loses it"
He blushed "Bye Gianna"
"Bye" I replied with a smile as he left. I sighed extremely tired today was the worst and Maria didn't help but just made it worse than it was. I changed my clothes quickly in the locker room. I was tired. Suddenly the bell rang signaling someone just came in."Did you forget something?" I asked, thinking it was Jeremy as I locked the locker room.
"No...I came to buy something" I heard an all too familiar voice say.
