Gianna's pov
I couldn't stop thinking about what Tamara said after she left. Maybe all this was actually just in my head. Maybe he actually didn't do anything wrong and this was just a misunderstanding.
I remember the rumors after he left. Some said he went missing, others said he went to live with his aunt and the last one said he ran away from home.
At first I didn't care about the rumors but slowly I started believing them. I couldn't help it. I needed something that would comfort me while he wasn't around. I thought maybe he went missing, that's why he couldn't contact me but later I figured it was impossible.
There wasn't a single poster about a missing child. I mean if he actually went missing it would have been news but it wasn't and from how much his parents didn't care it was obvious they knew where their child was.
When I heard the second rumor that he lived with his aunt. I immediately knew it was a lie because Nate didn't have any aunt apart from his dead grand aunt.
The third one said he ran away from home but that was impossible. Nate was a Mama's boy he would never leave his house without telling his mum. Even when he slept over at my place he would always call her saying he's at a friend's house. And believe me The Hinsens will go to the end of the earth to find their only child if Nate decides to run away from home.
At this moment I just stopped believing the rumors because it turned out many of them were a lie and didn't add up, especially the one where he ran away with his secret girlfriend. I mean I was his girlfriend and I didnt know where he was.
As time went on I would always hope that he had a reason why he left and didn't tell me and that he will be back someday and I just had to keep loving him and keep waiting for his safe return but after sometime I started hating him especially while I was in the university and couldn't date a guy that didn't look like him.
Maybe at that time I actually blamed him for every misfortune in my life. I know he will probably come around the shop later. He may not come today but he will surely come.
It's been more than a week and Nate is nowhere to be found. Just where was he?
"Gianna, is something wrong? Are you waiting for someone?" Jeremy asked
"What? No! Who would I even wait for?" I replied, rolling my eyes. Was it that obvious? I mean I know I've been staring at the door all week but I didn't expect anyone to notice.
"Just asking" he said with a smile "You've been drilling holes in the door with your eyes"
"Ya!"I smacked him on the shoulder
"Ouch" he exclaimed rubbing his shoulders "I think I'm gonna get back to work" he said leaving while still rubbing his shoulders.
I sighed. If I was staring that serious then I guess anyone would notice. The main reason I've been staring is nowhere to be found. Just where was Nate when I needed him huh? All this while he has been following me around, day in and day out but now I really want to talk to him I can't find him.
"You bastard" I whispered
"What?" One of my customers asked me
"Nothing. Please place your order" I said putting on my professional smile.
To stop myself from thinking about Nate I started walking continuously and I was glad at how busy today was. Towards closing hours a young girl with dyed brown locks walked in. I recognized her immediately as the ever jealous girlfriend.
"Unnie!" Makena waved at me as she entered the shop.
"Hey" I replied with a smile "How are you?"
"I'm good but what about you?"she asked me
"Same as always"I sighed "Do you want me to call Jeremy he just went to the changing room"
"Ah no need" she paused blushing " He was the one that told me to come"
This girl can be so cute sometimes. She behaves like she has the upper hand in their relationship but gets flustered at the slightest thing he does.
"A date?" I asked
"I don't know" she said twisting her hair with her fingers
But you are dressed up? What if he called you out for no reason? This children!
The door to the back room opened with Jeremy coming out "Boss...Makena"he smiled when he saw his girlfriend. He hugged her, placing a kiss on her head. "Did you wait long?"he asked.
"No"she barely whispered, shaking her head. She looked like a tomato.
All this PDA was annoying. I wasn't annoyed because of what they were doing but I was annoyed because I had no one to do it with. Stupid Nate!
"Get going already! Both of you" I said, tired of their PDA.
"Are you jealous?" Jeremy asked
"One more shit from your mouth and I am gonna reduce your pay" I said
"Have a goodnight boss" he said, leaving immediately. I giggled.
"Always the door…"I sang as I locked the shop. After everyone left I changed and came out to lock the shop before leaving. This is really important, always remember to look at the door. It is very important!
"Gianna" I heard someone call. I turned and immediately I saw who a big smile appeared on my face.
