Jenny POV:
"I wanted to see if you had finally fallen asleep, but you're still awake. Are you still reeling from what happened earlier?"
"Yes," I replied, still trying to process the events.
Tasha tried to offer a positive spin. "But think about it this way - Tom still owes you money, and yet someone gave you five thousand dollars out of the blue. You should be happy; you can use it to buy things you really need."
I sighed, feeling a pang of sadness. "I know, but what I really need, money can't buy."
Tasha's curiosity was piqued. "What do you need, then?"
I hesitated, feeling vulnerable. "I need love, Tasha. I want someone to love me, and for me to love them back. We're twenty-five, and we still haven't found that special someone to spend our lives with. Meanwhile, our classmates have all found love and gotten married."
I felt a sting of jealousy thinking about it. "You have a crush on a guy who doesn't even notice you, and he's just living his life. Why can't I find someone? I feel like I'm just going through the motions, stuck in a routine from work to home."
Tasha offered words of comfort. "I understand how you feel, and I wish I could find someone too. But we just have to be patient; the right person will come along."
I nodded, feeling a sense of resignation. "Okay."
Tasha stood up to leave. "Get some sleep now. I'm heading out."
The next morning...
Alex POV:
I sat on my luxurious, black leather couch, adorned with intricate silver studs, in the dimly lit underground cave. The soft, velvety texture of the couch contrasted with the cold, hard stone walls of the cave. The four guys, badly injured and chained, cowered before me, their eyes fixed on me with a mix of fear and pleading.
"What did we do to you that's making you treat us like this?" they asked, their voices shaking.
I leaned forward, my eyes narrowing. "Oh, what did I do? You were harassing my sister. Do you now recall?" I said, my voice firm and commanding.
They exchanged nervous glances, remembering the warning my sister had given them - that if her brother found out, he would kill them. They had entered a chance encounter with me, and now they faced the consequences.
"I also heard you harass and bully girls in that area," I continued, my anger simmering. "Which part of my sister's body did you touch?"
The leader stammered, "H-her hands..."
I nodded to Rhino, who stood beside me, his imposing figure radiating an aura of intimidation. "Cut each of their fingers so they would never touch a girl's body again," I ordered, my voice cold and detached.
Rhino complied, and the men screamed in agony as their fingers were severed. After ordering Rhino and the others to clean the blood, I left the cave, my couch and the scene of brutality behind.
As I left the underground cave, I received a call from my secretary, her voice urgent on the other end. "What's the problem?" I asked, my tone firm.
"Miss Lyian is waiting for you in the office, sir. I couldn't stop her from entering. I'm sorry, sir," she apologized.
"I will handle it myself," I said, before ending the call.
Outside, three sleek black Benz cars were parked, waiting for me. My driver, dressed in a crisp suit, opened the door of the lead car, and I entered, settling into the plush leather seat. "Take me to the office," I instructed.
"Okay, Master," he replied, his voice respectful, as he entered the driver's seat and drove off. The other two cars followed closely behind, forming a convoy.
As we got to Grande groups headquarters, l couldn't help but stare at the paragon of modern architecture, the sleek skyscraper that soared into the sky. Its exterior boasted a gleaming silver and black façade, adorned with intricate LED light patterns that danced across the surface. The building's design epitomized minimalist elegance, featuring clean lines, sharp angles, and a sense of precision that reflected the company's values.
As l stepped out of the car, the staff's greeted me with nods and smiles. I went straight to the building. Upon entering the lobby, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of opulence and luxury. The polished black marble floor reflected the light, while the walls showcased intricate works of art. The air was filled with the sweet fragrance of exotic flowers, and a magnificent chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the room.
I entered the elevator, with its mirrored walls and plush leather seats, which whisked me away to the 32nd floor, where my office was located. Stepping out, I was greeted by the breathtaking view of the city skyline, stretching out as far as the eye could see. The floor-to-ceiling windows seemed to dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, creating a sense of limitless possibility.
I pressed my thumb on the door knob, and the fingerprint scanner recognized my print, allowing the door to swing open. I entered my office, ready to face whatever awaited me.
