Chapter 28 - The Journey To Aethercrest

[Helen's POV]

"If you don't mind me asking, why do you make it sound like it's the end of the world if this Tendon Seis people get a hold of my family's sacred treasure?"

It was a question worth reasoning, The mention of Tendon Seis hunting down the heaven's paradice would be alarming to all guilds in the magic world, there was a specific reason for this but no one knew what it was.

"The heaven's paradice is a divine artifact, to your people it's only divine because it was the sun goddess's most beloved treasure. There's truth to that but in reality there's more to it than that."

There were something's even the Kohana bloodline were left in the dark about, no matter how much Solarius loved the first head of the Kohana family, she just couldn't reveal the truth because in the end he's still mortal.

"Yeah, it fetches a heavy price in the market, in the black market, oh boy the price would be as heavy as a Black Hole's gravitational pull."

Cedric spoke with a slight grin all over his face, there was truth to his words but that was talking about the letter Z when everyone is solely focused on A.

I could only compare this moron to the one I met earlier in Mysthaven, Cedric was more tolerable than the other one. At least he didn't put his hands where it wasn't supposed to be.

"What Cedric meant to say is, each of Solarius treasures contained vast amounts of Divine magic also referred to as holy magic. The heaven's paradice contained the largest amount of holy magic in all of her treasures making it her number one treasured item."

"Wait what?"

Cedric was very much as shocked as I was, the heaven's paradice, Solarius greatest treasure and the Kohana bloodline most sacred artifact was a living embodiment of holy magic?

"I'll ask this again, what the hell does Tendon Seis intend to do with something like the heaven's paradice!?"

Cedric became visibly pissed off, Rachel had an expressionless look on her face as we were headed towards a carriage, which was mostly the major means of transportation by land in our world. I might not know what holy magic truly is, but I do know it's the magic of a god and if it's been hunted down by a dark guild with that knowledge it really is bad news.

"I don't know, which is why we must retrieve it before they have the chance to."

She finally spoke up, to be honest it was scary whenever Rachel wore a look of concern. She was the sweetest girl I've ever met and although she is a mage. I feel like I'll grow on her more than some idiots anyways.

"How do you know so much about the heaven's paradice? It was supposed to be a secret only known to the Kohana bloodline so how does even Tendon Seis know of it?"

As my family feared, if the existence of the heaven's paradice came to light it's very essence will be hunted down by every greedy mage alive and now our fears has been realized.

"While most of us spent years mastering her affinities, Rachel spent hers mastering both her affinity and the magical arts, she's like a half baked guru and the only mage with a death wish."

It hit me that second on the spot.

"Wait a second, if you read about it's history that means??"

Rachel confirmed my doubts.

"The legend of the hidden temple of Solarius is a myth in the magical arts."

One thing was still bugging me though and not in a good way.

"If the possible existence of Solarius temple is known to the magic world, why has no one tried to obtain it?"

As silly as I may sound, there's truth to my question. Even if their motives was for selfish reasons, greed or power they would have still attempted to find and obtain Solarius treasures.

"Many have tried, none returned so it was left as a myth, a fairytale to tell to kids."

It was comforting knowing my family's sacred treasure was safe, but Rachel's words sent shivers down my spine. We are the ones seeking the temple now which left me thinking, will we get out of this alive?

Cedric clenched his fists visibly happy for some reason upon understanding the current predicament we were about to throw ourselves in.

"Probably because of the booby traps set all around the temple, well we are not them. We are Crimson Heart!"

His words were encouraging, but that didn't change the fact that I was a powerless individual and not a mage but just maybe everything might turn out alright. After all I'm with Crimson Heart and I'm positive they'll protect me.

"What kind of booby traps did Solarius leave in store for us, I wonder what mysteries lie within the temple, either way it's an adventure I can't wait to conquer."

Bravery was a good factor, but did he possess the necessary willpower to back up his courage? I really hope he has the answer to that because I don't know about them, but I really don't want to die. There's so much I haven't explored, I don't know what it's like to have friends, I want to have kids, I want to cuddle with them and deep down, I kind of want to be explored.

We arrived at a carriage ready to go, it only cost 100 Nyo per person to go to the capital of Aethercrest and eventually we began our journey to the hidden temple of Solarius. As dangerous as it looked I also got the feeling that this would be the adventure of a lifetime.

[Xavier's POV]

[Outskirts of Silvershade]

I waited, and waited and waited. Chrollos was getting old but his little junior was still as active as it used to be in the early days, A whole hour had passed, I constantly heard moaning sounds from the room I rested in backed up with pleas like "Faster", "Oh yes" and it became annoying at a point.

With the extra time I had on my hands, I felt like it was a good time to check my stats as I haven't done so in a while. The holographic white board appeared in front of me and revealed new inscriptions.

"Huh, I really need to train more and learn more spells."

Eventually Chrollos had finished his morning routine and when he finally attended to me I had already slept off, it took every stamina in me to fully stimulate my body's regenerative tissues and that left me drained. So I had to recharge.

"Sleep tight Xavier, I really hope you won't continue pretending anymore and taking heavy damages like this."

Chrollos covered me with a blanket before leaving the room quietly, it was too much of a hassle to wake me up anyways.
