Chapter 22 - The Borders Of Mysthaven

"O-uch.."

The slap hurt more than it was supposed to, well I guess that's what I get for fondling a size 110, those are rare to come by these days so they tend to be a bit overprotective, but honestly I think she combined the anger of being harassed by the other men and added it to mine.

Apologizing was a waste because I had just shattered my previous records so I had nothing to be sorry about, but maybe just maybe I should refrain from hitting on strangers.

"Well I'll be on my way then!."

I exclaimed heading out, asides fulfilling my indecent desires I had more pressing issues to attend to, the major one being Tendon Seis, a dark guild situated in Mysthaven. I'm sure your curious, what the hell am I doing in Mysthaven? Unfortunately I have no time to ponder on that thought as I had to deal with the size of my handiwork.

"Wait!."

The woman exclaimed to get my attention which forced me to come to a halt.

"Oh you've reconsidered?"

I responded swiftly taking her approach for something else.

"Wait what? No! You can't just leave, at least tell me who you are!."

Disappointing, usually women telling me to wait meant that they wanted more but she was a different story, damn it all.

"Let's see.."

I scratched the back of my head with my right hand, a force of habit, answering her questions was a hassle considering she left a mark of her right hand on my face. How was I going to explain that to Rachel? Oh well.

I pointed my right thumb towards the side of my head with a huge smile drawn on my face, reveals are always much cooler when you're a hero for saving someone.

"The name's Xavier Storm, as you've witnessed I'm a wind mage, and I'm also the man who will one day be known as the greatest mage in all of Elvesmore."

Of course I'd brag, who wouldn't when you realize what was standing in front of you. Asides selfish interest that was my true ambition. To attain the title of the greatest mage in all of Elvesmore and protect the powerless everywhere, my dreams were forged from the events of my past.

"Lame."

"Say what!?" She crossed her arms looking the other way.

She downgraded my efforts, but who could blame her? she was just another powerless civilian who has been trampled upon multiple times, she was a victim to several rape attempts by several mages. Why wouldn't she bare hatred for our kind?

"But I suppose you have my gratitude for saving me from those men, my name is Helena, but you can call me Helen."

I received her appraisal, she could tell I was different from the others after all I had no intentions of getting intimate with her, at least that's what she assumes hehehe.

"Helen huh."

The hell was going on, she had the same name as my most favourite model in a swimsuit magazine I blew my monthly earnings subscribing to.

"Who were those guys?"

She was persistent, it was a question I tried not to answer but seeing the temptation in front of me I had no choice.

"They might look like small time crooks but they are part of a dark guild that resides in this town, I'll advise you stay clear of them. Well I'm off!."

I was about leaving but man for someone who had no interests in me checking out her actual measurements she refused to let me go. "Wait!." She ran after me.

She walked by my side after catching up, I averted my eyes from her because I for one didn't want to witness the movements of those perfected cups when she ran.

"I'll come along with you, I was about leaving Mysthaven anyways."

Mysthaven was a country whose populace surpasses that of both Oriao and Terre Lane together, it had several tourist attractions starting from the statue of the Legendary Mage, Hiro Sakuma. The first mage who attained the legendary rank, he was once and still is a popular figure. Their major occupation was fishery as they had the best lakes and they were situated offshore from the Plagonial sea.

The borders of Mysthaven was connected to many other countries but mostly to the Silvershade kingdom and the Novaheart Empire, with that knowledge the only way to leave Mysthaven was by ship and through the border.

However with many great factor comes terrible disadvantages. Mysthaven is also a town dominated by several dark guilds, guilds that has been rejected as official guilds by the MFC which stood for Magic federation council. They are an organization responsible for overseeing the use of magic in the world, they are made up of great Sage's from each countries that made use of magic.

Helen and I finally exited the forest, we were headed for the border with the intentions of leaving Mysthaven.

"Why were those guys after you anyways?"

"Wasn't it obvious? they wanted to harass me."

It might be an obvious question but the answer was more complicated than that, I was watching them since they apprehended her so I overheard, their intentions were more than that.

"I overheard them before I stepped in Helen, they wanted to capture you not touch you all over, why?"

Helen's face dropped and she avoided eye contact with me, I knew it something really was going on and it wasn't something she could handle alone.

"I..I."

Trying to force some words out of her mouth, she was interrupted and taken away by my swift movements. I turned around instantly sensing a violent presence and there they were.

Five men approached us, the man in their middle clapped softly and chuckled evilly before lifting his head and gazed at Helen.

"Did you really think you could escape us easily Helena?"

Helen's body trembled in fear, her beautiful eyes wavering and her mouth hanged open, she was clearly overtaken by fear on hearing the voice of this man. I was enraged, no woman should be trampled upon, especially not the ones that can make a man's desires run amok.

I stepped in front of her, blocking her sights from the likes of them.

"I don't know who you are, I don't care who you are, but I can assure you of this. Lay one finger on her...and your lives are over."

One look in my eyes was enough to notice my cold glare, my eye lids lowered in rage, my hair cast a shadow over my eyes which added to the intense moment. Defying my warning when I'm in this state would be a terrible mistake.
