The sparks created from the clashing of our swords flew in various directions. Helena hid behind a carriage nearby, the path to the port was blocked, what we failed to realize was that Tendon Seis had planned this confrontation, however a skilled mage coming to Helena's aid was not part of their plan.
"What do you want with her Nageyama?"
I asked, we struggled to gain the upper hand against each other as our swords were forced against the other.
"It's none of your concern, your about to die anyways so you don't need to know."
"Don't count me out just yet!.'
Infusing my wind magic into my sword, I increased it's damage power and strength which allowed me to gain the upper hand against Nageyama and his ice sword.
"ARRR!!"
I let out a loud battle cry before extending my right hand forward, the applied pressure behind my sword overpowered Nageyama and he was propelled backwards off his feet.
"Tsk."
Not giving a moment to spare, I slashed the air three times and released the wind energy surrounding my sword as wind blades towards Nageyama. They weren't concentrated so they lacked the ability to cut, but they did pack a punch.
Connecting directly with the abdomen of Nageyama who was yet to land on his feet, his pupils dilated and his eye lids spread wide. He ejected saliva from his mouth as the wind blades felt like three men punched his gut simultaneously.
"Grrr!."
He groaned as his back crashed to the ground before his whole body followed the momentum, slowly he got up to his feet and I was a bit irritated. Sure he was strong but I didn't expect him to be that strong, in any case I didn't also expect a mage of his caliber to go down easily against such feeble spells.
"Oh come on, don't tell me that's all you got? you sure sounded like you were gonna mop the floor with me moments ago but honestly I'm disappointed hehehe."
I placed my sword on my shoulders as Nageyama was getting pissed, his ice sword was shattered when my sword overpowered his, dirt covered the back of his clothing and he was someone who hated getting dirty.
"I thought hybrids are supposed to be strong ya know? Be a challenge and all."
That was the last straw, at least to Nageyama, he tore off his shirt in anger. For someone who has never tasted defeat or overwhelming power he lost his cool when he finally did.
"Challenge? Tch, BRATS LIKE YOU SHOULDN'T SPEAK OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE!."
He snapped.
BOOM!
An explosion occured underneath the feet of Nageyama, he made use of his flame magic to propel himself forward towards me, the flames he emitted from underneath his feet was intense, for a moment I couldn't read his movements but when I could he was right in front of me.
"Thermal-Cryo...FIST!."
Flame magic as well as his ice magic spiralled around his right fist and like the speed of a jet it was fired at my face, out of every part of my body he wished to destroy he chose my face? I get I was handsome and all but wasn't this a bit too much.
There was no time to evade it, it always took approximately a second for the aero surge spell to fully engulf my body, the only option I had was a block his fists with my sword and I did just that. His right fist connected with my sword and it shattered instantly.
"What!?"
THUD!
His fist connected with my left cheek, my face turned to my right side before I was eventually blown off my feet.
BOOM!
The shockwave created from the combination of his flame and ice magic shattered the windows of nearby buildings and shops. I wouldn't even want to talk about how I looked like after taking that fist head on.
I was propelled at least 10 meters away from Nageyama, on impact with the ground I coughed out a great deal of blood, the Thermal-Cryo fist was an S rank spell, you can tell just by seeing the spell itself. The combination of his fire and ice magic with his physical strength behind it. It had a devastating impact and I slowly lost consciousness.
"Xavier!."
Helen witnessed from afar where my big mouth had gotten me, she rushed over to me and crouched on arriving. Blood dripped from my mouth and I was unable to move my body, my vision became blurry as I almost fell unconscious.
"Stay with me Xavier!."
She placed her hands on my shoulders and shook them in a futile attempt to keep me conscious. She could hear the sound of footsteps coming from behind us and looked over her shoulders.
"He's done for and so are you if you don't tell me where it is Helena."
Just like any other typical villain, Nageyama's body was engulfed by flames and his eyeballs glowed orange for intimidation, Helena froze. This man literally gave what I mistakenly asked for and wiped the floor with me. If I didn't stand a chance against him what chances does she have?
"Tell me where it is!."
He demanded.
Almost instinctively, Helena reached into her pockets and threw a small and black spherical object at Nageyama. He caught it of course, she didn't even possess the necessary strength to throw a little object at a far distance.
Nageyama examined the object she threw at him, he found the initials "S" written at the back of it and on realization of what it represented his eyes widened.
BOOM!
The spherical ball exploded creating a cloud of black smoke. With Nageyama blown backwards, Helena took advantage of the situation and carried me with my hand over her shoulders and ran away from this route.
For non-mages who lived in this world their only hope of defense were magical objects, magic was bought and sold everywhere in this world. Magic objects were originally created to reduce the oppression on the powerless, but overtime it was being used for evil.
"Damn that bitch!."
The smoke cleared and Nageyama got to his feet, the explosion had no effect on him, he was a flame user after all but the shockwave from the blast overpowered his stamina providing room for their escape.
There was only one place they could have gone to but it would be pointless pursuing them right now, Mysthaven port was secured by the magical knights employed by the MFC, this was to aid safety and apprehend law breakers who attempted to sneak in contraband into the country.
"Tch."
Nageyama headed back to the Tendon Seis branch, it's main guild location was unknown to prevent being caught if they were ever discovered by the council for their wrong doings.
Their motives with Helena was yet to be revealed but one thing was for certain, whatever they wanted from her was so important that they'd literally kill for it.
