Finally, the liquid mana reached his heart, and a wrenching pain crushed Henry's chest.
He felt lightweight as his soul fluctuated out of his body. He took a deep breath and uncontrollably shivered. He focused on his heart and realized the liquid mana drop slowly seeped into it.
It was hard to notice if one wasn't Henry. The process was slow and faint, but it was there.
The sudden seeping of the liquid mana was why Henry's soul fluctuated out of his body for a moment. It modified the structure of his heart and caused a drastic change.
(The heart is the power of all living beings!)
Henry realized it. He hadn't even completed the process, yet the effects were already extraordinary. If he continued on this path, his heart would send liquid mana throughout his whole body as the source.
Each thump of his heart would contain the power of magic. It was a step better than the magic system of his era!
"So stupid. I can't believe we all believed we were the Glorious Era…" Henry smiled wryly.
He was ashamed now. The future was built upon the heads of giants. It was natural that progress would appear.
He just didn't expect it after knowing that the classes of this era were incomplete. As for the reason? He didn't know. It was another question for Henry to seek an answer for.
After a while, Henry got used to the feeling of the mana seeping into his heart. Thus, he controlled another droplet and had it do the same process.
It was time-consuming and at a turtle's pace, but it still caused significant changes. Soon, he would be walking a different magus path.
…
Meanwhile, Felicia was still busy studying the magic circuits. She didn't just learn from Henry's teachings. She let go of her shyness and consulted with the magus teachers.
Her notes had become a dozen pages.
Her hair was ruffled and untidy. She hadn't taken a bath or slept. A demon seemed to have possessed her.
"This goes here and this here…" Felicia mumbled.
The students in the Magic Circuit Maintenance Building subtly glanced at her. They all thought that she had become insane. It was the first time in their life to see someone that passionate about magic circuits.
Felicia was well aware of how she looked. She didn't care because something about magic circuits resonated within her.
It was as if she was born to study them!
Henry never expected much from Felicia when he accepted her as his first disciple. He only did it to repay her for taking good care of him when he was young.
But due to unknown circumstances, Felicia seemed to have had the talent to study magic circuits all along!
This talent was evident to the Magus Teachers who spoke to Felicia regarding magic circuits. They became aware of her potential and lamented at her age.
If she were a tad younger, she would have been able to reach a higher peak than all of them combined! She had the thirst, capability, and talent to do so.
In Felicia's mind, she knew that she was like this because she lacked good opportunities in the past. If it was during her youth, she might not have become as interested in magic circuits.
It was complex, and Felicia was aware of her circumstances. Otherwise, how could she have survived as a lowly commoner working in a brothel?
An invisible force in her heart urged her to do better and scrape off her dark past from history.
One day, she would be a respectable woman!
…
Henry was halfway in moving his liquid mana into his heart.
It had changed significantly. It gained a hint of coolness that relaxed Henry. It no longer felt like his soul was leaving his body.
He was still a Simple-class magus. The only difference was that he needed more time to move his mana out of his body. For Henry, this was not a problem.
This also gave the answer he was looking for. This era favored chants because it was easier for them to materialize their mana out of their bodies.
This meant faster and more accurate spells.
The only exception to this would be Henry. As long as he kept some of his mana in his hands, it should not be hard to catalyze his spells, retaining his ability to cast spells with a thought.
Henry was very excited at the moment. He couldn't wait to step on this new path.
He was like a smurf player of a game. He maxed out his main account and was now in the process of maxing out his alternate account but with a different role.
Soon, three days went by. Henry opened his eyes and stepped out of the door.
He hadn't bathed, but he smelled fantastic. Mana swirled around his body and kept him deodorized.
The sun was high up in the sky. Henry breathed in the fresh air and smiled.
"Magic is awesome."
The excitement Henry felt during his days in the past returned. He let go of his pride and decided to be humble from now on.
He reorganized his thoughts. As he did so, he suddenly remembered someone punched him while he was walking to his apartment.
If he wasn't wrong, that person was Correal. He was too engrossed in his thoughts he didn't flinch after he was punched.
He took note of him. It wasn't a big deal yet. Henry would teach him a lesson if he dared show his face again.
There was also the problem of missing several lessons. Henry was disappointed that he didn't manage to attend them. He could've learned more.
"Felicia?"
Henry turned to his left and saw Felicia, who had just walked up the stairs. She looked drained and awful, but there was a bright light in her eyes.
"Master… The academy is hiding something in the magic circuit!"
Her words echoed loudly and with great excitement. It was apparent she couldn't wait to tell him.
