Chereads / Return of the Strongest Forbidden Magus / Chapter 38 - Testing Henry's Limits

Chapter 38 - Testing Henry's Limits

Correal was horrified that Henry dared say those words to Madam Judy. He came here rushing with anger. His goal was to punish Henry!

"I don't like how she acted so close to me," Henry answered.

He kept his head straight while his gaze was kept on Correal's eyes.

"You could've sugarcoated it!"

Correal found it unacceptable his goddess was trampled so effortlessly by this guy. He hated his guts!

"If you want sugar, go to a bakery."

Henry sneered. He didn't regret what he said.

"Come onnnn! AHHHHHH!!"

Correal screamed his battle cry and went straight for Henry with his fist in the lead. He ran and pushed all of his weight into this punch.

"Scram!"

Henry already gave Correal the chance to back off. He answered his question truthfully, and yet he still attacked.

With a wave of his hand, Henry caused a tempest to form before him. This wind spell collided with Correal and canceled the momentum he had built up.

His powerful punch that had all his weight turned into a feather's tickle. In a panic, he pulled himself back.

Seeing the turn of events, his men hurriedly supported him. The two women came by and stood half a step in front.

"Hiding behind women?" Henry teased with a smile.

He found Correal to be pathetic. He was studying in a magus academy, yet he used his fist to attack. If he was so great, he would have struck with a spell.

"O' Deep Dwelling, pelter my opponent!"

The soft soil opened up, and a handful of rocks rained at Henry.

They soiled his clothes and caused minor bruises. They were nothing, but Correal still attacked successfully.

In reality, Henry saw the chant from a kilometer away. He let the spell finish because he was curious.

He sensed a bit of mana concentration around Correal's heart region. He already knew the answer, but he still confirmed it.

The magus of this era truly utilizes their heart to conjure spells.

"When I graduate, I will haunt you!"

Correal was feeling smug with himself after his spells showered Henry. He couldn't help but threaten him.

After all, Henry's spell did nothing to him, but his spell made Henry dirty and bruised. In the eyes of the audience, he had won in this bout!

Henry was too nice. He only canceled Correal's momentum earlier. It was the second chance he gave.

And yet, he still used a dirty spell!

Henry waved his hand again.

This time, he swiped his right arm toward Correal, generating a flame torrent that draped over and steered to Correal's head.

Correal ducked and raised his arm to protect his head.

His attempt to protect it was futile. The flame was still a flame. His hair burnt, and his skin's first layer was cooked.

"AHHHHH!!!"

Correal's scream of terror chilled the hearts of the onlookers. They initially thought that Correal won because of his domination with the spells.

They saw that Henry didn't chant, but that didn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Except, a womanly figure had a different idea from what she saw earlier.

Sabrina Fullgale came from a family of wind magi. They specialized in purely wind magic. In their long history, only a single magus hadn't followed the Wind path.

Thus, she saw the intricacies behind Henry's first spell.

She knew he must have had full control of his magic to perfectly cancel out Correal's full-on punch! Simple students might not understand, but wind magic's force could be adjusted.

To know Correal's momentum and then use wind magic to cancel it required a high understanding of wind magic!

Admiration and disbelief showed on her face.

She was a transfer student from a neighboring kingdom. She just returned and hadn't known the rumors about Henry when they met. She only realized after her friend gossiped.

The rumors told that Henry was the disciple of a powerful magus and only achieved his current abilities because of his master.

Those rumors could not have been more false! They were wrong! He was the real deal!

Henry didn't know that his casual wind spell caused waves within Sabrina's heart.

He watched coldly as Correal was tended to by his group. The two women were unlucky as the flames touched their hair and burned a few parts.

As for the men, they rolled away earlier.

In the end, his entourage prioritized themselves.

Henry saw through them all. They were circling Correal for another reason. Perhaps, it was because of his societal standing.

Correal panted and looked at his burnt arm and touched his warm hair. He shook violently as he found this to be too unbelievable. His grace and confidence from before was nowhere to be found.

And at perfect timing, Judy appeared from behind a tree. She was still teary, but she stood in the middle of the two.

"Stop!"

Henry blinked his eyes. This woman purposely delayed her appearance to allow him to show off.

She looked at Correal with disdain, but when she glanced at Henry, he could see a sneaky, smug grin on her face.

"This woman…"

Henry shook his head. She was more crafty than he expected. In actuality, she used Correal to reveal his abilities!

Judy glared at Correal's group and shooed them away with a wave of her arm.

The group was ashamed and carried Correal out of the audience's sight. They were embarrassed because they were the ones who instigated the fight and lost.

"Are you okay?" Judy asked with concern.

She ran to him and held his arm, which had a bluish bruise, caused by a rock from Correal's spell.

"Something a life spell can heal."

Henry waved his fingers over the bruise, and sprinkles of light fell on it, causing it to heal back to normal right before their eyes.

"Woahhhhh!"

Judy's eyes widened in astonishment. She blinked her eyes repeatedly and looked up at Henry; a hint of playfulness was within them.

"Can I wash your clothes then?"
