"Mana Sense"
Once I uttered these words, the whole world around me suddenly changed.
Whoa! This is pretty wild. It's like I see the world from a 360-degree angle, my brain hurts from the information overload.
I can see things I can't normally see, like the movements of these gray-hued currents coursing through the interior of my body.
It's as if this energy is flowing throughout my body, much like blood in my veins. Is this really energy and not mana?
Now, let's test if I can use this skill to explore the nearby area. When I focus in a certain direction, suddenly my vision begins to zoom in that direction, almost like I have some sort of telescopic vision.
I started seeing something. There were a few monkeys sitting in a circle, and one monkey was holding a few sticks and trying to break them.
First, it broke a single branch, then two, and it kept increasing in that order until it couldn't break the next one eventually. Then it was making some sounds, "hoo-hoo-hoo, ahh-ahh-ahh."
Hmm… I wish I could listen to what it is saying, I am quite curious. Wait a minute, didn't Truck-Kun buy a skill for scenarios exactly like this? Let's try it out.
"Skill Share - Linguistic"
After muttering those words, I could understand what those monkeys were saying to some extent.
The monkey with the branches took a single branch and broke it quickly and said, "Monkey alone weak."
Afterward, it took around five or six sticks and tried to break them again, but unlike the first time, it was not easy to break, and it spoke again, "Monkeys together strong."
Oh no, they are evolving. If I leave them alone like this, they will eventually take over the world, and the world of Fantasium will become the World of the Monkeys.
Alright, I may be over-exaggerating things, but what that monkey said is true. If I try to fight hundreds of monkeys at the same time, things will turn out the same way as yesterday.
So, I'll need to start by separating them and attacking them in very small groups like this one. There were about four or five small monkeys in this group. If I manage to eliminate them quickly, it should be relatively easy.
Yesterday, I was really frustrated with that little shit. I had to take it down slowly using Pocket Sand and my bare fists. Because of that, it called for backup, and I won't repeat the same mistake today.
I gradually approached the group; they weren't too far away. I got as close as possible and concealed myself in a bush. They were so preoccupied that they didn't notice my presence. I readied the Bloody Rex in my hand, preparing to launch an ambush.
"Skill Share - Acceleration"
"Acceleration"
"Acceleration"
"Acceleration"
After four instances of Acceleration, I closed the gap between us in an instant. They were taken aback by my sudden appearance. Seizing the Bloody Rex, I employed one of the skills I had acquired from the old man Owen.
"Cleaving Strike"
A horizontal strike connected three monkeys simultaneously, swiftly ending their lives, including the one clutching the branches.
Just as the name implies, the strike cleaved two of the monkeys in half, while the remaining one was left partially severed in the torso.
Blood was everywhere, and I could even see some of the monkey's guts and organs. I wanted to puke; until now, all the kills I did were with the help of Truck-Kun, and the one yesterday wasn't this gory.
I guess this is my reality now. I was expecting a world of swords and magic, but I forgot to consider the possibility of things like this. I was a fool to think I forgot about things like literal monsters roaming this world. I should be more careful from now on.
Anyway, the other two monkeys saw this and started to run for their lives. I activated one of Bloody Rex's skills.
"Blood Spikes"
Once I muttered this word, a significantly large spike made up of blood started to form in the air, and within a few seconds, a huge spike was hovering over my head. How do I launch this?
While I was wondering what to do, I just moved my hand in the direction of one of the monkeys, and the spike launched itself like a rocket and pierced the monkey.
Wow! This is powerful, but it also takes a lot of Energy to use multiple spikes at the same time.
The last monkey was still trying to run away. I used another skill I got from the old man Owen.
"Axe Throw"
I threw the axe with all my might. When it was very close to hitting the monkey, the monkey made a sharp turn. Just as I thought the axe was going to miss, it also made a sharp turn and hit the monkey dead center.
Wh-what just happened? How did the axe turn on its own? Wait a minute, now that I think about it, I also got a skill called Precision Projection from the old man Owen.
If I recall correctly, it's a skill that affects all projectile weapons, and it even has a slight homing function as well. Is that what happened now? Hmm... Well, first I have to retrieve my axe. Let's try another one of my skills now.
I reached out with my right arm and said, "Mjölnir to me," but nothing happened.
Well, I figured as much because that's not the name of the weapon. I tried again. "Bloody Rex to me." This time it flew directly to me with a metallic sound.
To be honest, I was very scared. What if it hit me straight on the head at this speed? It will most definitely kill me. Or what if it ends up severing my hand? Even thinking about it is making me quite scared.
But fortunately, nothing like that happened. The axe flew straight to my hand without any problem.
Wow! The synergy between Axe Throw, Precision Projection, and Homing Instinct is really awesome.
All I have to do is throw the axe, and it will mostly hit the target with its homing function. I don't even have to retrieve the axe; it automatically comes back to my hand. All I have to do is call it.
While I was thinking about these things, something weird happened. Suddenly, the corpses of the monkeys started pulsing, and something like a small red thread came out of their bodies and went inside the Bloody Rex.
What the hell are those? Is that blood? Is the axe absorbing the blood of the monkeys?
Suddenly the System Screen popped up for some reason, displaying some text.
The Hidden Skill of Bloody Rex has activated
What Hidden Skill? Is the Hidden Skill something similar to Blood Absorption? Does this mean it will increase something in my stats by consuming the Blood of the enemies?
"Status Screen"
I opened my Status Screen to check for any changes, but there were none. Hmm... nothing changed, so what does that mean by activating Hidden Skill?
The only thing I can do now is wait, I guess. After a few seconds, I saw the monkey corpses. They looked like they were mummified because all the blood in their bodies has been drained.
Wow! That's kind of unsettling. I should be very careful when using the Bloody Axe from now on. After deciding that, I resumed my hunt.
...
Phew... That was very tiring. After that, I found lots of small groups of monkeys together and managed to ambush and kill them all quickly thanks to my skills. I think I have killed nearly a hundred of them. By the way, the drops from these guys are called small monkey paws and small energy stones.
Now I was sitting down near a tree leaning on it, trying to take some rest. I somehow managed to kill a lot today, but because of that, most of my energy is used up due to the continuous use of skills. Maybe I should go back today and come back again tomorrow?
While I was thinking about these things, something caught the corner of my eye. Ohh... it looks like one of the monkeys is still alive.
It was heavily wounded and bleeding a lot, but it was still crawling away, trying to get as far away from me as possible. I won't let you go. If I do, you will reveal my location to all your friends. I picked up my axe and used the skill.
"Axe Throw"
The axe flew away and hit the monkey dead center, killing it in an instant. This time it's dead for good.
Suddenly the System Screen popped up for some reason and displayed some text.
