The next morning, Suzy headed to her company, where her team awaited her. Daniel congratulated Suzy for saving Star Corporation at the end moment. Her team managers, who didn't leave her side from the very beginning praised her effort too.
"I appreciate the support I got until the last moment. You all were by my side, which was also a reason for my strength," Suzy proclaimed, giving them the credit for why she fought until the very end.
She asked them to continue their work and went toward her main office, followed by her secretary and close friend, Daniel l
"I heard Arthur Onetti usually invests in the companies which belong to strong business families," Daniel stated, wondering how Suzy succeeded in convincing the Chairman of Onetti Empire to invest in their business when it was on the brink of collapsing.
"It's a long story, Daniel. I will share with you someday," Suzy stated. She didn't want to tell Daniel how she signed a contract marriage deal to marry the apparent heir of the Onetti Family in exchange for saving her company.
"Sure," Daniel didn't press her since they had bigger issues to solve.
"Daniel, I don't want the old investors to be in my company anymore. I need trustable people, who will stand with us until the very end," Suzy affirmed and the glass door opened. They both entered the office only to see the sight of Chris Onetti.
He had an alcohol bottle on the desk on which Suzy worked and he leaned his head back on the headrest of the chair.
"Who are you? Who made you enter the CEO's office?" Daniel angrily asked as he failed to recognize Chris and took out his phone from his pocket.
Suzy stopped him and told Daniel to check the work in Finance Department.
"But–" Daniel paused as Suzy ordered him. He glared at Chris and left the office.
Once the glass doors closed, Chris asked, "Was he your boyfriend? I thought you told everyone about us. At least, your boyfriend should know how you betrayed him for money." His ridiculous remark showed Suzy what kind of man Chris was.
"He is my secretary, not a boyfriend. Unlike you, I focus on my work," Suzy said and walked toward the desk. She grabbed the alcohol bottle when Chris placed his hand above hers.
The next second, he pulled her down, causing their faces to come close. She thought to step back when Chris made her sit on his lap, tightening his hold around her.
"Chris, I warned you not to do such acts with me," Suzy said in a stern tone.
"I only made you sit on my lap. Well, many women have been here, and believe me, they have enjoyed it," Chris stated, a grin spread across his face.
Suzy was disgusted by his presence. She raised her hand to his ear and pulled it hard. Chris screamed in pain and his arm loosened from around her. Suzy promptly stood up while Chris asked her to let him go.
"Keep in mind not to come to my office with an alcohol bottle," Suzy said and let go of his ear. She pulled him up by grabbing his collar and pushed him to the desk behind him.
"I am good at handling a brat like you. So, if you think doing all this can make me run away, then you are wrong. Do you understand, Chris?" Suzy asked him with an intimidating gaze.
"I was only examining your limits. Now, I know what I have to do. Tonight, we will have a memorable night, Suzy," Chris whispered against her lips. He held her hand and lowered it down before fixing his shirt. He took out the ring boxes from the pocket of his trousers.
"Grandpa asked me to show these to you. Check them and tell me if you like them," Chris stated as he placed them on the desk.
"My choice doesn't matter. You came here with an excuse to create trouble at my workplace," Suzy pronounced and put the boxes on his palms. "Leave from the same way from where you've entered here," she sternly said.
"Don't order me," Chris said.
"Why? The place you are at is mine. Everyone has to follow my orders, including you," Suzy stated.
Chris chuckled to hear her words. "I hate being ordered around. You are right. I came here not to show these rings to you, but have fun. You can continue doing your work while I will meet your employees and will tell them about us," he affirmed, putting the boxes into his pocket. Chris picked up the bottle when Suzy grasped his wrist.
"You aren't supposed to create trouble at my workplace," Suzy said.
"Then, why don't you come with me? I am not going to leave this office unless you come with me," Chris pronounced, smirking at her.
Suzy could not let Chris stay in her company any longer. She took out her phone and told Daniel she would leave earlier because of urgent work.
"Follow me," Suzy said and walked ahead of him. Chris grabbed the alcohol bottle and walked behind her.
As they stepped into the elevator, Suzy pressed the ground floor button, where her car was parked.
"I will take you in my sports car," Chris said.
"I am not letting a drunkard drive the car," Suzy remarked.
"I didn't take it yet. The bottle is sealed. I brought it here to annoy you," Chris pronounced.
Suzy narrowly gazed at him and waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor.
Chris wondered why he couldn't defeat Suzy's strong resolve. He was unable to study her either. She was the first woman, who appeared mysterious to him with a strong aura.
"How old are you?" Chris suddenly asked her. "I didn't ask Grandpa about your age or anything related to you," he stated.
"I am 30," Suzy replied.
"You don't look like a thirty-year-old woman, though," Chris remarked. "You look forty," he muttered in an attempt to irk her. Women usually would get angry if someone called them older than their age, and he wanted to see that reaction of hers.
"Thank you for the compliment, Chris. You look like a young, teenage 14-year-old, immature boy, who wants attention all the time," Suzy affirmed, and the elevator pinged as its door opened.
Suzy stepped out of the elevator while Chris snickered. "She thinks I'm a teenager," he muttered and followed her.
