Chapter 6 - Silencing her

While driving his sports car, Chris found out that Suzy didn't even look at him for a second. Was he not charming enough in her eyes? He pressed the accelerator, thus increasing the speed.

"Don't rush it," Suzy finally spoke up as she saw the speed was more than usual. She glared at Chris and urged him to slow down.

"I won't reduce the speed until you agree to run away from this marriage," Chris put forward his condition, smirking at her.

Suzy tightly held the strap of the seatbelt as her eyebrows furrowed. "Chris, we may get injured. You should slow down," she calmly told him.

"My condition is clear, Suzy. I will slow down only if you agree to run away," Chris asserted, refusing to drive the car at its normal speed.

Suzy chose to remain silent since arguing with him would not bring any outcome. Inside her head, she prayed not to die by accident. She still had a lot to achieve.

Chris got troubled by Suzy's silence. How could she be so calm in such a situation? Finally, he slowed down because his attempt to scare her went in vain. 'Grandpa found a tough woman for me. Why is she so different?' he thought and turned the car to the bar, the place where his friends awaited him.

Suzy looked at her watch and found the clock struck eleven o'clock. "Don't you go to university?"

Her sudden question made Chris chuckle. "Why did you ask that?" he queried.

"Because I am curious," Suzy stated. As per her deal, she needed to help Chris be the next Chairman of the Onetti Empire. Learning about him was important to achieve her target as soon as possible.

"I go to the university when I want to," Chris answered.

"In which university do you study?" Suzy asked.

"Why? Do you want to come to my university?" Chris didn't answer her, instead, he raised a query.

"I must know where my soon-to-be husband studies," Suzy asserted.

"I won't tell you," Chris pronounced.

Suzy opened her phone and searched for Chris Onetti. "St. Joseph University," she read and glanced at him.

"Only the rich can afford to go into that university," Chris replied.

"Unlike a spoiled kid like you, some people actually work hard to earn their places at better universities," Suzy retorted, her words carrying a hint of reproach. Her attention was momentarily diverted as she checked a message from Chris' grandfather, instructing her to be at the wedding venue by noon with Chris.

Before she could ask Chris to stop the car, he applied the brakes and she looked outside. Suzy knitted her brows together as she found he brought her to a bar and her anger escalated.

"We need to head to the wedding venue by sharp noon," Suzy informed him, who took off his seat belt. "Drive to—" However, before she could continue, Chris placed a gentle finger against her lips, silencing her.

"You've entered my world, the moment you stepped out of your company. In my world, my rules exist," Chris declared confidently, his finger retreating slowly. With that, he exited the car, clearly ready to head into the bar.

Determined not to let the situation get out of hand, Suzy stopped him before he could walk far. "Chris, you can come here later," she suggested, wanting to find a compromise. "Also, I'm in professional attire, and places like this aren't suited to me."

Unfazed, Chris held his ground. "Unlike you, I need to share about my wedding with my friends. Come in if you want to avoid being late for the wedding," he urged, disappearing into the bar without further ado.

Feeling a mix of frustration and apprehension, Suzy ran her fingers through her hair. She had no choice but to follow Chris inside. As she approached the entrance, two imposing bodyguards barred her way, but upon Chris' instruction, they stepped aside to allow her entry. Suzy walked in, trailing after Chris.

It was an unfamiliar and slightly uncomfortable setting for her. Thankfully, it was still the morning hours, and the bar was relatively empty. However, Suzy got uncomfortable to see young people making out randomly with anyone while some looked completely intoxicated.

Chris already showed a glimpse of the world where he belonged. He was on the stairs while she was still at the bottom of the flight. Suzy looked at Chris, who was already at the top of the stairs. She quickly ascended the stairs and saw Chris entering a private lounge.

As she entered the lounge, her eyes widened to see Chris kissing a blonde woman. Chris had his eyes on Suzy, thinking she would leave. However, she stared at him and crossed her arms.

"Get away from Chris," Suzy said to the blond woman, who momentarily stopped and turned to look at her. Suzy walked up to them and grabbed Chris' hand.

"Don't play games with me. If you think I will feel low seeing you making out with a random woman, then you are wrong. I am at an age, where these things don't bother me at all," Suzy affirmed.

"Who are you to speak with Chris in this way?" The blond woman shouted.

However, Suzy didn't respond to her. She turned to leave with Chris when his three friends entered. Liam arched his eyebrow to see a woman dressed up in a business suit, holding Chris' hand.

Thomas and Peter exchanged glances at each other.

"What is this beautiful and sophisticated lady doing at such a place?" Liam asked with a smirk.

Before Suzy could reply, her phone rang and she found it was from Daniel. She turned it silent while Chris signaled the blond woman to leave and she left the room.

"I am Suzy Watson, who is marrying Chris Onetti in the next three and a half hours," she affirmed. "You three are welcome for our wedding," Suzy invited them and glanced at Chris.

"Shall we leave, Chris? Or do you want to show me more?" Suzy asked him.

Liam chuckled as his words turned true. Chris got a woman against his choice. But the question was why a woman like Suzy chose to marry Chris.

Chris pulled his hand back and told Suzy he would come later. He needed some time with his friends to think if he could possibly separate from the Onetti Family.

"I won't leave without you. Come with me," Suzy proclaimed.

"Leave my sight. Don't boss me around. I hate it," Chris muttered in anger.

"Miss Watson, we will bring Chris to the wedding venue," Liam interjected. "This place isn't for a professional like Miss Watson. Thomas will drop Miss Watson at the venue," he politely said.

"Hmm," Suzy agreed to Liam and left while Liam gestured for Thomas to go with her.

Once they left and the door closed, Chris went to the punching bag and started punching hard on it. Peter asked Chris to calm down, but he didn't stop. Finally, Liam had to step up to grasp his wrist.

"Calm down," Liam said.

"I don't want to marry, but for that, I need to leave the Onetti Family," Chris stated.
