Chapter 26 - 25. Don't add infidelity to the list

The car ride back was incredibly quiet and awkward. Even though she was currently sitting in the car she still struggled to understand how she got into that situation. In a car alone with Xerxes and the driver. His Secretary insisted that Xerxes and his sons couldn't be in the vehicle for security reasons and when Zena walked to the other vehicle to be with her children, Xerxes refused to let her ride alone with them. His excuse being she was even more dangerous to be with, especially after what just happened. But wasn't he the person that sent that man?

As she began to argue for her safety, afterall she would be in a car alone with the man who was actively trying to kill her he threatened to leave her to find her way home. What did Zena know that would help her go home?

Now she sat right beside him, trying to make herself as small as possible. Her heart would not stop thumping, this man... he really could kill her.

'Is it really a good idea to go to his house? What if I don't survive?' She wondered. She turned towards him slowly only to gasp in shock when she met his eyes.

"What?!" She exclaimed, wondering how long he had been staring at her like some creep.

"Don't you think you should have some shame now? You're a mother."

Zena eyes widened. "Pardon?"

Xerxes pursed his lips. "Even if you are having affairs, have the decency to not flaunt it in public."

Zena lips parted. "What are you talking about?"

"Not that I care, but consider the boys. It's already going to be a blemish having you as a mother, don't add infidelity to the list." Zena huffed. But as she opened her mouth to defend herself he raised his hand to prevent her from speaking. "Still, Logan? Of all the men in this city, you chose Logan Lugen?"

"I'm not sure what you mean, but whatever it is you are thinking is probably a misunderstanding-"

"I don't care for your explanation." He said dismissively. "We are getting divorced anyway. Just... be more discreet."

The conversation was over, Zena had a million things she wanted to say but he wasn't even looking at her anymore. Plus, she didn't want to do anything to offend him if she could avoid it. He already had it in mind to end her, she didn't want to aggravate him and speed up the process.

They were getting divorced so it didn't matter. She would make herself as invincible as she could while she figured a way to get the hell out of this family.

'I just need to remove Xian's influence from this body and I'll be free. Those boys aren't mine anyway. If she wants to protect her sons then she would take over her body and send me back to mine. This situation, those boys... are not my problem.'

Xerxes was gone the moment she entered they house. She didn't know where he drove off too and she didn't ask. The best thing for her was to follow the only people she was familiar with, the babies.

It was sad, but she had to start depending on those bundles of cuteness before they even knew how to hold their heads up.

"Mrs Zhen!" One of the staff exclaimed after she safely placed one of the babies -who Zena assumed was Xander -in his crib and turned around. "What are you doing here? You should be getting comfortable."

Zena's head tilted to the side. "Getting comfortable? I don't think I'm allowed to do that as a new mom." She said.

The staff sighed. "You can at least freshen up before you come here. There are a lot of germs you can bring from the hospital and their immune system is not so strong."

Zena sighed. She didn't know where she was supposed to go and she also didn't know if she was supposed to know or not. It would not be wise to raise suspicion by asking, would it?

"While the nannies bathe the boys why don't you go shower as well? I'll lead you to your quarters." She said, walking out of the room.

Zena followed immediately. Whispering soft thanks under her breath. She wasn't supposed to know.

'Seems like I don't normally stay in this house. Makes sense, it's huge.'

Doing her best not to gawk but failing utterly she followed the staff down the hall. After the first turn, she stopped.

"This is the closest suite to the nursery. You'll be staying here."

Zena nodded and smiled. "Thank you." She walked into a hallway that opened up into with what seemed to be a sitting room, a game room?

The was a bar in the wall by her left and three doors on different sides of the room. She walked to the closest door to her but it was locked. The door in the middle was opened into a bedroom.

The decor was a bit bland and quite masculine but she like the pastel colours and the dark furniture. Pulling off her scarf, she walked to the drawer by the side of the room when she saw a frame. Instantly, a frown covered her lips when she saw who was in the picture.

"Why is there a picture of him here?" She wondered out loud, and then a sharp shriek escaped her lips when she heard a loud bang behind her. Zena's jaw dropped when she saw the wet, partially naked man standing in front of her.

'What was he doing here?!'
