Su Yeon's POV
I pushed Mr. Gwang back to his seat because I didn't know what he was doing, it took him aback but didn't react further.
"I'm so sorry, sir, your face is just so close to me I thought you were taking advantage of me." I told him, "What are you doing, by the way?" I pressed by asking him.
"You didn't fasten the seatbelt, it's been bothering me for quite some time." He explained.
"I did, I--" I cut myself off when I noticed that the seatbelt wasn't really fastened, "But I thought..." I trailed off.
"It's okay, Ms. Su Yeon, you're tired. It's understandable," he responded, "I even forget to brush my teeth before going to bed because I'm tired," he added.
"That's... a totally different thing," I mumbled.
"Really?" Mr. Gwang asked before starting the engine, "It both has a risk, don't you think so? I mean if I stopped my car all of a sudden you might hurt yourself, if my breath were to smell bad during meetings, it might hurt me." He explained.
"What?" I turned my head in frustration, "I might die!" I argued.
"Well my reputation might die," he countered.
"Aghck, you're frustrating!" I fumed, "You know what? Drop me off at the nearest convenience store, I'd rather spend my time alone rather than spend some time with you." I protested.
"Fine," Mr. Gwang replied shortly before stopping at a convenience store a block from my house.
"Fine!" I raged and hopped out of his car, "And here I thought we were having a moment," I whined before closing the door on him and stomped my way to the convenience store, I happened to see Mi-na working the night shift today. I turned back to see if Mr. Gwang was still outside, but it seemed like he already left. Whatever, as if he'll ever get his head out of his ass. I shook my head to release some tension before entering the convenience store, Mi-na saw me and pointed at the nearest table to the cash register.
"I didn't know that someone drove you here, is it your date?" She chirped, then noticed my sulking, "But seeing how you're sulking about it, doesn't look like it ended well." She stated.
"Date?" I asked and smiled maniacally, "That's my boss who offered to drive me home!" I exploded at her.
"Geez, you don't have to fume at me, Su Yeon." Mi-na scratched her head, "So, what happened with your boss?" She asked me, so I started telling her what happened.
"He cared more about his reputation than about his employee's health!" I complained, "What kind of a douchebag would think that way?" I asked exasperatingly, I ignored the bell chiming when someone entered while I was eating the food that Mi-na had already prepared for me but she seemed to be in shock.
"Oh, it's you!" She said, so I turned my head to see who it was she was stunned about. It's totally Mi-na's type but she approached me instead.
"I've been meaning to look for you," he said and stood in front of me.
"...And you are?" I asked while raising my eyebrow at him.
"Ah, apologies, I didn't mean to suddenly interrupt your chat with Ms. Yang." He told me, so I looked at Mi-na because I was clueless as to who the guy was. Mi-na leaned in to whisper it to me.
"It's the guy looking for you earlier, who says he wants to know you." I looked back at the guy then composed myself.
"Listen here, mister." I turned to face him completely.
"Mr. Oh Jae-hyun," he introduced himself.
"Okay, Mr. Oh, listen," I called for him, "I've never borrowed nor loaned from something, so whoever it might be, I'm not the person you're looking for. Okay?" I reassured him by raising my hand and then pushed him out of the store gently.
"I-- Ms. Shin, it's not that--" I cut him off by raising a finger at him.
"Ah ah ah, I don't know you, so see you." I said with a smile, "Goodbye." I said before trying to slide the door close.
"You... really don't remember?" He asked, to which I stopped.
"Whoever you are, if I don't remember you, it probably means that I want you out of my head and out of my life." I stated, "Now, Mr. Oh, you better get going before I call the cops on you for stalking a woman." I added before turning to leave.
"I'll introduce myself better next time," he told me before leaving as well, "Byeol," he mumbled, a memory suddenly flashed in my head, though it's blurry. I stumbled to maintain my balance but someone caught me.
"Thank you, Mi-na..." I trailed off when I saw Mr. Gwang was the one who caught me then I yanked myself out of his grasp, "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked him as Mi-na ran to my side. She didn't say anything to us, but the look she gave to Mr. Gwang is definitely odd. Why does she look surprised to see him? Do they know each other? She immediately faced me.
"Are you okay, Su Yeon? You suddenly look pale," she mentioned.
"It's nothing..." I trailed off, "I think I remember something, but I can't seem to make of that memory." I sighed before sitting down, Mr. Gwang's eyes widened at what I said while Mi-na started to become a little frantic.
"Really? What do you remember?" She asked continuously.
"I just said that I can't make out what happened in that memory, but whatever it is that Oh Jae-hyun guy said, it sparked a memory. I don't know who he is, but he sure spells trouble." I stated to Mi-na, while Mr. Gwang could only take in what I just said before his brows knit in what looked like anger and concern.
"You better stay away from him," he butted in, "You shouldn't get into his business." He warned me.
"And you think I want to be a part of his business?" I snapped, "What are you doing here anyway?" I mentioned.
"You forgot this," Mr. Gwang said and handed me my key and keychain, "Your bag must have been opened accidentally when you stormed off earlier." He pointed it out to me.
"Whatever," I huffed before grabbing it out of his hand, "Can you go now? You're spoiling my appetite," I added before facing him away.
"...Right," Mr. Gwang said as Mi-na gave me something to eat, "Oh, I'll buy something first before going." I rolled my eyes at his declaration.
"Do whatever you want as long as it's not with me," I grumbled before taking a huge bite of my food, Mi-na didn't say a thing about what was happening, I wondered why. I didn't call her out for it because I just wanted Mr. Gwang out of this store, but then I realized that he bought a cup of noodles and sat beside me. God, he's annoying. He fidgets his fingers for a while before saying something.
"I'd just like to say sorry about what I said in the car," he said then composed himself. I scoffed at his apology before drinking.
"Are you saying sorry because you want me to forgive you or are you saying sorry because you're now here?" I asked him after drinking.
"I..." Mr. Gwang trailed off before answering, "I'm saying sorry because I meant it," he expressed.
"Right, like you really mean it." I snarked a reply.
"I mean it, Su Yeon." I looked at him fully this time, and him saying my name caught me off guard a bit, "I'm just not used to talking to people personally unless it's business or meeting agendas," he explained.
"Now, I'm guilty," I said while unconsciously playing with my food.
"What? No!" He stuttered, "I don't blame you for my lack of social skills, all I'm saying is that it's nice to have something else to talk to rather than business." He added. I was about to speak when Mi-na called for Mr. Gwang that his cup of noodles was done, he got up and fetched it before sitting down beside me carefully.
"What was it you were about to say?" He asked me.
"I forgot," I lied. I don't know what to reply to him, so Mi-na calling him out was a great move because I'd just end up speechless. I bit my food properly this time.
"I... actually anticipate talking to you, Su Yeon. Isn't that weird?" Mr. Gwang confessed to me with a small smile plastered on his face, "I guess it's weird for you." I chuckled a little at his statement and smiled at it without looking.
"It's fine, I think," I replied, tucking a hair behind my ear and I was about to say something when his phone rang. He looked at it and then back at me, "You should answer it," I told him.
"It won't take long," he said and distanced himself before answering, a little while later, he came back with a sigh.
"You're needed back at the company, huh?" I asked him and he could only nod before looking at his cup of noodles.
"I'll pack it up for you," I offered, "You go on ahead and wait in the car," I told him.
"Are you sure?" He asked me.
"Yes, now get in the car," I commanded and he immediately got out without defiance, although I didn't really know how to pack it, Mi-na did it without saying anything. I'll talk to her once he's gone, I stepped out of the store to give to him, "Here."
"Thanks, Su Yeon." He thanked me, "I think I need to go now," he said, hesitating to start the car.
"I'll see you in the office tomorrow, Hyeon Woo," I called his name with a smile, "I think it's only fair to call your name since you're calling my name without me telling you," I mentioned to him before tapping the car, I noticed him gripping the steering wheel a bit tightly but I ignored it since he was caught off guard by it.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Ms. Shin." He answered with formality this time, huh, is he not comfortable with me calling his name? He started the car and then left. I went back to the convenience store and sat down, then I noticed a woman who was standing on a vending machine, when I squinted my eyes I saw that her clothes were bloodied and dirtied. She snapped her head towards me when she noticed me staring at her, I was surprised about it but more likely Mi-na slamming her hand down the table.
