Hyeon Woo's POV
I never heard my name get called out willy-nilly, and it was Su Yeon out of all people. But it's my fault for having her call out my name, I called her name numerous times as if I was asking for it. Although I realized that it was the first time she ever called my name, throughout her lifetime, she would just call me by 'Mr. Gwang', 'Master', or 'Sly Fox'. So I guess it's natural for me to be shocked about it, gosh, why does she have to smile while saying my name? I almost lost all of my cool there because of that, when I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw a ghost standing outside the convenience store where Su Yeon was sitting. Why is it pestering Su Yeon all of a sudden, I was already far away and I can't go back because that would feel too embarrassing for me to even do it. I think it was just attracted to her since I was there.
Su Yeon's POV
Why the hell am I seeing her?! I'm ignoring her for now since she's already close to me, and Mi-na is busy giving me an ear about what just happened, so I decided to give in to Mi-na. I'm so sorry, I don't know why I just suddenly noticed the girl, but I'll try my best to act like nothing happened.
"Why are you spacing off? I'm scolding you here, Su Yeon." She told me.
"I know, I'm so sorry, I'm not doing it again." I apologized without even knowing what she was saying earlier.
"You better!" She said, "I never cringed in my life seeing you tuck your hair behind your ear in front of your boss?!" Mi-na mentioned.
"What? I would never, I think you're just mistaking it for something!" I spluttered in front of her, "Why would I even do that?" I blew raspberries at that thought, gosh, did I really do that? Was it because of what he said?
"I... actually anticipate talking to you..." I feel hopeless that my face is blushing at that thought.
"Anyways, why are you looking at the vending machine? Do you want to buy something there?" Mi-na asked me as she cleaned the store.
"Oh, no, not really, I think I heard a rumor about a ghost girl appearing there when you're alone at night." I lied, I need to know why this girl is suddenly on my tail.
"What? You're kidding, right?" Mi-na felt a goosebump before continuing to clean the store, "Now I don't know if I should work night shifts. You know how sensitive I am with ghosts and stuff," she reminded me.
"I know but we've been hearing since your mom's friends are talking about it," I told her.
"And you believe such silly stories?" She stopped sweeping the floor and turned to face me. No, but I'm literally seeing one on my peripheral now, so how come you don't notice it?
"No, but your mom is a shaman, she could exorcise this place for you just in case you know..." I trailed off.
"Gosh, what's wrong with you? You're suddenly into shamanism," Mi-na put away the mop and then started organizing the store items into their respective aisle. I followed suit while finishing the rest of the food that Mi-na made and bought for me in the store.
"I dunno, well, your mom was the one who kept on pushing things to me. And knowing what happened earlier, I guess she wasn't kidding. Which reminds me..." I trailed and looked at her, she instinctively looked back at me.
"What is it?" She asked and dusted off her uniform.
"Two people have called me the name your mom was calling me earlier," I mentioned.
"What name?" Mi-na pondered for a bit before recalling it, "Oh, Byeol!" She clasped her hands together.
"Yeah, that's weird, right?" I asked her for confirmation.
"Well, who called you that?" She inquired, "I only remember my mom calling you that name."
"Actually, it was that Oh Jae-hyun guy, I was about to tell you that then my boss showed up out of nowhere," I told her.
"Really? When did he say that?" Mi-na finished organizing everything and went back to the cash register.
"When he was about to leave, he whispered that name and then I happened to remember something..." I trailed and stood beside her.
"Hey," she called me.
"Yeah?" I faced her.
"What are you doing in the cash register?" She asked me.
"Oh, sorry, I was just too busy with everything that's happened to me," I said with a sigh before stepping out of the register, "Isn't your shift to be over?" I asked her now that the time was nearly dawn, I didn't know that I stayed up all night already.
"Yeah, that's why I did everything while we were talking. All that we need to do is wait for a bit for the owner of the store to come before we leave," she answered then she put her chin on her fist.
"Well, I think I ran out of things to talk to," I told her, I don't seem to recall if there's anything important to share anymore, and then I was reminded of what I did to Hyeon Woo. I was about to speak when Mi-na spoke first.
"Oh, by the way, you said there were two other people who called you by what my mom called you. Who was the other person?" She asked me, I was about to answer when the owner entered the store. Why does everyone love cutting me off when I'm about to speak something important?
"Mr. Lee, you're here." Mi-na greeted then bowed, "I cleaned the store ahead of time since only a few people came to the store today." The two of them started talking and I completely forgot about the bloodied girl, which was good, after their conversation, we bid our goodbyes to the owner. While the two of us were walking my left wrist started itching and I saw a red string on my wrist, do I have this on me all the time? When I was thinking about it, I do vaguely remember wearing them at all times so I shook it off. But Mi-na noticed it and grabbed my wrist a little too forcefully.
"Ow, Mi-na, you're hurting me." I winced at her grasp.
"Sorry, I just got surprised by this bracelet you're wearing. I mistook it for something sorry," she apologized and rubbed my wrist gently to appease me.
"It's okay, let's just go home," I told her, when we reached back to my house, I felt an eerie sense as if someone was following us. I was opening the door when I glanced at the glass window then I saw the bloodied woman who had followed us back home. Gosh, why did I even look at her? I facepalmed then Mi-na clasped my shoulder.
"You must've been really tired for today, let me open the door." She chimed in and I was so surprised about it that I almost screamed, "Gosh, sorry, why are you jumpy lately?" She chuckled as she opened the door.
"Sorry, I guess that's everything catching up to you." Not to mention the girl who is standing behind us.
"Well, I don't know about that kind of feeling, but if you're tired, then that's all that matters." Mi-na stretched her body once she was inside the house. She reached for the remote of the air-conditioning and then lay down on the sofa, "I love that the air-conditioning is just near us so I could just chill immediately once we're home." She stated and yawned.
"I'm the one paying for everything here, Mi-na, you should get back to your house." I told her and kicked the sofa, "Now get off the sofa." I playfully demanded but all I heard was her snore as an answer. Damn, she's more exhausted than me. I felt like my throat was itching for water so I fetched some in the kitchen, when I was done drinking, as soon as I put down the glass, the girl was suddenly in front of me. I was scared by her obviously, but I had to act like I didn't see anything and proceeded to the living where Mi-na was peacefully sleeping.
"Huh, I thought she saw me." The girl said in a garbled voice then disappeared into thin air, I mentally sighed in relief that the ghost finally let go of me. I pulled the sofa to turn it into a bed and slept beside Mi-na since I was still scared of what I just saw. I fell asleep and woke up hours later to see that Mi-na had already left to go back to her house, she left a note that she had already cooked something for my breakfast so that I could only spend the rest preparing to go to work. I love you, Mi-na, you'll be a great housewife! I was in the bathroom relieving myself, when I was done, I turned around and saw that the girl was in front of me! I was so surprised that I slapped her with my left hand, the ghost winced in pain that she was slammed on the wall.
"That really hurts!" She said in pain and then cried, "I was just checking you out since you can see me," she wailed.
