As a man and a builder, Ba Denis understood measurements a lot, so he roughly knew where he was supposed to be building when he took the job.
"On this piece of land, I want to have blocks of buildings constructed. However, I will first give you a deal for one building and if I am satisfied with what you give me, I will assign you to all the buildings here," Tapiwa said as her hand pointed all over the land that she wanted to have built.
Ba Denis nodded his head. He understood perfectly well that trust was usually an issue, and it was also very normal to be tested, especially when one was doing such a huge project. So, he didn't feel offended when he heard her words.
Instead, he asked her, as he turned to look at her, "What kind of building do you want to be done first?"
Tapiwa smiled at the man faintly and responded, "The building should have four rooms in total. Two storage rooms, a changing room which can be smaller. And just enough for four people to enter and change, and lastly, a reception hall. And the last room should be much bigger, at least its size should be on par with all three rooms I have mentioned earlier."
"There should be a huge round kitchen a few meters away from the building, and lastly I need pit latrines to be built as well," she clarified.
Ba Denis heaved a sigh of relief at hearing what Madam Sims wanted from him.
"This can be done. Don't worry much about it. If you have a rough sketch of what you want. You just give it to me and we can take it from there."
Knowing that what she wanted wasn't so hard, Ba Denis began to confidently participate.
Ma Denis watched amusedly as her husband and the woman she never thought much of talked about houses and all that.
As a woman, wife, and mother, something that she was very proud of. She had never participated in such kind of talks before and here she was listening to another woman speaking so confidently about things that men would do.
"But before we get to the building, I would need the land to be measured first. And then you help me clear the trees from the designated area that will be built. All trees are to be uprooted. I will need all of them. So don't throw them away. I will tell you what to do with them when they are piled up!" Tapiwa told Ba Denis, not wanting him to take her trees for himself in the future.
Trees were very important to the environment. Although she was going to cut them and cause some disturbance with her actions. Which was something that can't be stopped. She was going to make use of them most helpfully.
In the future, she was going to compensate for the loss and plant some trees. She had seen the importance of trees, plants, and flowers in several worlds that were facing climatic and environmental changes.
After that, Tapiwa discussed a few more things with Ba Denis before agreeing.
Tapiwa was very happy that she had settled once again on another issue that needed tackling.
After their talk, Ba Denis decided to stay behind checking something, and the two women decided to take that chance to return to the manor and at the same time talk.
"This…. Madam Tapiwa, I have been wondering for a while now. What exactly do you want to build there?" Ma Denis asked curiously.
Unlike other people who called Tapiwa with her last name, Sims, Ma Denis was used to calling her Madam Tapiwa. And in either way, a person liked calling her. Tapiwa didn't mind.
She didn't have any children, so whatever they chose to call her, she was fine with anything.
"It's good that you asked. You have seen that I have purchased a lot of tomatoes today and onions from your village, right?"
Ma Denis nodded her head as she answered, "Yes. Does that have anything to do with what you are building there?" confusion was written all over her face.
Ma Denis just couldn't fathom why those two could be placed in the same sentence.
"Hmm. I have recently registered a business, and it centers around us women. I wanted to do something meaningful, something that could not only help me but also other women out there. Whether it is in making money, providing some sort of help, and so forth. I was going to tell you about it another time but since we have already started, then I might as well tell you about it," with a smile on her face, Tapiwa eagerly told the lady.
Apart from the people she had already met before in Karoba and Guche, no one around her estate knew about the news yet.
Ma Denis stopped in her tracks. Shock and surprise covered her face and her dumbfounded expression as she looked at Tapiwa was a beautiful sight to behold.
"You must be kidding! You registered a what?" she asked in shock, still not believing that she was standing in front of a woman who was so bold and courageous like that.
Tapiwa stepped a bit closer towards Ma Denis and patted the older woman's shoulders, "A club for women. And as long as you are a woman, you are welcome to participate in a project with me."
Ma Denis shook her head, trying to wake herself up if she was dreaming, but unfortunately, she wasn't dreaming at all. And that showed that her ears weren't playing tricks on her.
"You are serious about it?" Ma Denis asked in a shaky tone, her tone doubting but eyes looking for reassurance.
"Umm, but you will have to wait in the future for that. However, I can assure you that as long as you have a certain amount of money, the project is there and you qualify, you will be eligible to invest in the project and receive a profit share that you will know in the future when everything is sorted out," Tapiwa slowly clarified herself wanting Ma Denis to at least understand what was going on.
At least with Ma Denis, Tapiwa didn't need to worry about spreading the gospel. That lady was going to do the job for her and Tapiwa could already foresee how busy it was going to be.
Hearing the detailed information, Ma Denis who now has over 50% trust towards Tapiwa calmed herself down and began to throw a barrage of questions at Tapiwa.
And since someone was curious about the club, Tapiwa began to delve into more details and while talking like that, the two arrived at the manor only to find out that Tambudzai and her daughters had taken care of everything.
Ma Denis sighed as she placed a cup of water on the wooden table and said, "No matter what happens, you shouldn't forget me when you start this. I will do my best to gather the money and invest."
