"Caden." Nova moaned.
"She is awake!" the nurse exclaimed and ran out of the room to find a doctor while Nova blinked as she tried to fight the light that penetrated her eyes and sent needle pricks through her brain and she shut her eyes tightly to block it.
"Mrs Knox, welcome back to the land of the living. You had us worried for a minute." A voice said kindly and someone took her wrist and placed their finger firmly on her pulse point.
With great difficulty Nova turned in the direction and opened her eye a slit and looked at the man wearing scrubs and looking down at her with a gentle smile.
"Water." She whispered hoarsely.
"Of course." The man said and walked away from her side and a second later someone smaller in a nurse uniform stood beside her and directed a straw to her lips. She sucked greedily and started coughing as she swallowed too fast.
