Chapter 11 - Volume 1 - Chapter 11: Traces of the Constellation

Today was December 11th, and Aaron had separated from his family, deciding to level up and strengthen himself on his own. He was quite a distance away from the Tower. As he remembered from his previous life, there was a Tower in every city on Earth. People who had reached a certain level could teleport between these Towers by paying a small amount of gold. However, Aaron didn't intend to use the Tower. With his current power, he could only inflict about 30% damage to the monsters in London. He would definitely die if he went there without being at least level 60 or maybe even 70.

The fate of the people in London was death until they took it seriously.

From his previous life, Aaron knew that the highest casualties occurred in densely populated and large cities. This was because the formation of dungeons and monsters increased with the population.

In comparison to others, in larger cities like London, monsters like Black Annis, whom Aaron and his family fought as boss monsters, appeared as small boss monsters, wreaking havoc. Afrer all this was the main reason for the significant decrease in the world's population.

Due to his knowledge and his desire to become a strong pillar for humanity, Aaron hunted down all the monsters that came his way. He had stopped hunting goblins since they gave him fewer experience points and had started hunting thorn rats and lork wolves instead. Of course, there were other monsters he could hunt, but they would be unnecessarily challenging.

He quickly reached the border of Durham and looked up at the sky. He could feel the eyes upon him, and he smiled. He knew very well that his adventure was just beginning and that he would journey to the depths of the future.

"Exiting England/Durham borders, entering England/Leeds borders."

Aaron had almost reached Leeds by the end of the day, having left Durham behind.

He didn't have much information about this city, but he could see the World Tower thanks to the map he had. He wanted to head in that direction.

He set off immediately and was swiftly approaching the tower. However, he still had a long way to go because unlike Durham, the World Tower had formed directly in the center of Leeds. Many buildings and military structures had been destroyed, and train tracks were damaged. To see the extent of the devastation, Aaron climbed to the top of a building along the path to the tower, which took about 20 minutes. He looked around and what he saw didn't surprise him. In his previous life, he had witnessed even worse destruction, so this devastation didn't seem unfamiliar or sadden him.

Aaron decided to investigate what had caused the destruction in front of him. Some areas had been severely demolished by powerful blows, while in other places, it appeared as if delicate strikes had completely destroyed the buildings.

He quickly recalled the information from his previous life, and the situation surprised him. According to his knowledge, there were two small boss monsters in this area, and their ranks were not low.

This seemed impossible to him because Leeds was not such a large city, and moreover, it was not officially recognized as a Metropolitan City. The fact that it was a university city made it even more peculiar. All these factors led Aaron to suspect that something was amiss in this situation.

Aaron, "These boss monsters... I suppose it must be a High Orc and a low-level High Phantom," he thought to himself. A High Orc was not an exceptionally powerful boss monster, but a High Phantom, even though it was classified as a small boss monster, was one of the most dangerous among them. However, even for the High Phantom, such a high-level destruction seemed impossible.

"The Constellations?" Aaron pondered with anger. In his previous life, such entities existed—they were not gods themselves, but each one was a powerful being, known as the Constellations. They would descend from the heavens and herald destruction. In his past life, he had killed 23 of them and gained their legacies. Some provided abilities and weapons like gods, while others bestowed knowledge and treasures.

There were 44 of them residing in the Northern Hemisphere, and the other 44 in the Southern Hemisphere, each one a fierce cosmic entity destined for destruction. If one of them had descended upon Leeds, it made perfect sense because only beings as powerful as them could command and empower small boss monsters to carry out such devastation.

For Aaron, defeating one of them in his current state was impossible—such a possibility didn't even exist. Of course, there was a way to accomplish it, but he had to reach level 75, select his second sponsor, and hope that they would bestow upon him a weapon. Normal humans and weapons from the World Tower couldn't harm them; only weapons obtained from dungeons could cause damage. Therefore, his priority was to level up as quickly as possible. Once that was achieved, he would first annihilate the small boss monsters and then forcibly take the legacy of that constellation.

The element of luck could change everything, but absolute power surpassed all else.

The legacy of a Constellation was highly important, and to explain their significance, we needed to describe how the death of one person could change the world.

In Aaron's previous life, when he was in his middle ages, he had met a man who taught him how to wield a sword flawlessly, which was the only aspect he lacked knowledge of at the time. This man was the 3rd Constellation Slayer in history, elderly, and had killed him by chance while he was sleeping. When Aaron met him, the man was in his seventies and had only reached the D level. By chance, he had found a weapon in a dungeon, used it to find and kill a Constellation in their sleep, and obtained another powerful weapon by chance.

The funny part was that every time Aaron heard this story from the man, he had always wanted to ask him about his Luck stat. However, he only learned the answer once his training was complete. The elderly man had a Luck stat of a staggering 792. Throughout his life, Aaron had never encountered someone with such a high Luck stat or someone with such a low level of ability who could still kill a Constellation.

However, Aaron held deep respect for the elderly man because he had helped him address some of his shortcomings in sword mastery and subsequently achieve the God Level Sword Mastery. Therefore, after the man's death, Aaron was devastated and mourned for about a month without even touching his sword. This period, known as the Emotionless in history, was a time when he did nothing and simply grieved.

The focal point, however, was not Aaron's thoughts and emotions or the elderly man's high luck stat. The focal point was the chaos that ensued after the man's death. Numerous guilds on Earth fought to possess the weapon obtained from the Constellation, resulting in countless scenes of massacre and chaos. Nearly a million hunters lost their lives in pursuit of that weapon. Of course, during that time, Aaron was preoccupied with mourning and did not even lay a finger on the weapon. Despite being the rightful owner, he felt that touching it would only deepen his heartache, so he refrained from involving himself with the weapon in any way.

The value of a weapon fallen from a Constellation was such that it had the potential to trigger a global war. This was the power possessed by a Constellation, capable of bringing the world to its knees. And once again, Aaron found himself facing a power so immense that he couldn't even look at it right now.

The significance of a weapon fallen from a Constellation was enormous, as it had the capacity to ignite a conflict that spanned the entire world. This was the true power of a Constellation, a power that could dominate and control the Earth itself. And now, Aaron was confronted with a force so formidable that he couldn't even dare to face it at this moment.

The weight and potency of a Constellation's power were unparalleled. Their influence and the artifacts they possessed held extraordinary might, capable of reshaping the world and determining the course of history. Now, Aaron, who was forced to fight against such overwhelming power, understood the magnitude of the task ahead.

The world awaited the outcome of this conflict, where the legacy of a Constellation intersected with the determination and potential of a skilled warrior like Aaron. This battle would not only test his physical abilities but also his resilience, strategic thinking, and unwavering resolve. It was a test of his character as he stood against a force that could shape the destinies of nations and the lives of countless individuals.

The stage was set for an epic clash where the fate of the world hung in the balance. Aaron would need to overcome his grief, utilize his newly acquired abilities, and confront the daunting power of the Constellations. Of course, all this war was nothing but a prelude to the perfect war that would occur in the future.

After a short while, Aaron arrived at the Tower of the World and entered inside. As he stepped in, all eyes turned to him, watching his every move. Aaron was quite surprised, trying to understand why he had become the center of attention. Little did he know about the small game the system had played during the boss monster battle, and he hadn't heard anything about it. He was now a famous figure, not only in England but throughout the world. The system had turned him into a watched show globally, making him the most famous hunter in the world. Nobody knew why the system had done this, but the only thing they knew was that watching this young man was entertaining.

Aaron walked towards the bottom of the tower and opened the market. He currently had a considerable amount of unit points, making him the richest hunter at the moment. He had expressed his gratitude to the God System for this multiple times before, but it crossed his mind once again.

As Aaron looked around the market with eyes full of determination, he noticed the wounded and hungry people. Without hesitation, he immediately purchased around 200 first aid kits from the market and enough food to feed at least 300 people. It cost him nearly 100 gold coins, his wealth that couldn't be taken lightly.

After stocking up on food and first aid kits, Aaron closed the market and turned around, shouting, "HEY, EVERYONE!"

The eyes that were already fixated on him filled with hope, sensing that something was about to happen.

"Those who need food and first aid kits, please form a line. I will give them to you for free."

The people were incredibly surprised. It seemed almost impossible for someone to show such a great act of kindness in such dire times. This was even more difficult for them to comprehend because, if Aaron had only half of that amount, he would never do such a thing. After all, he was the most miserly person you could ever encounter in your life.

People suddenly scrambled and gathered in a chaotic manner in front of him. Everyone was pushing and shoving each other, trampling over fallen individuals and causing pain. In the midst of it all, Aaron noticed a woman who appeared to be around his mother's age, and his anger reached its peak. Frustrated by this sight, Aaron shouted once again:

"GET IN LINE! I SAID FORM A LINE! THOSE WHO DON'T FORM A LINE WILL NOT RECEIVE FOOD OR FIRST AID KITS!"

Then, he made his way through the crowd and helped the woman up from the ground. She was injured, and tears streamed down her face due to the pain she endured from being trampled upon by numerous people. Anyone would be writhing in agony in her situation.

"You first, ma'am," Aaron said to her.

The middle-aged woman wiped away her tears and struggled to stand up. Aaron gently held her arm and guided her to the front of the tower, where he handed her the first aid kit.

"Thank you," the woman said in a soft and hoarse voice.

"You're welcome. It's nothing. After your wounds heal, you should find a team to join, so you won't face such difficulties in the future," Aaron advised.

The surrounding people had now formed a line and started listening to him. Aaron's words brought a glimmer of courage to their hearts as they heard them echoing around the tower.

The woman lowered her head as if bowing to a deity, which surprised Aaron.

"Please don't do that. I am just a human like you. It's unnecessary for you to bow before me. Helping those in need is our human duty," Aaron responded, and at that moment, the system generated a notification:

"Aaron Light Corbyn, Glib (Passive) Ability Acquired.

The user can effortlessly tell lies at any time, anywhere, in any manner, even in dreams. No ability can detect whether the user is lying or not."

Aaron thought to himself angrily, "This damn system! It's literally mocking me, you imbecile!" after reading this notification.

Upon hearing his words, the people felt something once again and realized their mistakes. The queue they were trying to form became even more orderly, and as a result, all the noise subsided.

Aaron had distributed food and first aid kits to everyone in an orderly fashion, and then he returned to the Tower market to get something to eat for himself. Just as he had started eating, a voice from the right side of his location called out, "Hey, you brat!"

Aaron turned his head and his face took on a peculiar expression. The man in front of him was a soldier, but Aaron had never seen anyone like him before. The man, who was the age of his father, looked very different from him—overweight, bald, and with a rough demeanor.

Similar things had happened in Aaron's previous life. The old military ropes were trying to regain control and oppress people, taking away everything they had and behaving like dictators. While there were some good people among them, at least 50% of them were just pieces of garbage.

"What do you want?" Aaron said indifferently, not paying much attention to the man in front of him. He knew that the man spelled trouble.

One of the soldiers became enraged by Aaron's words and immediately shouted in a rough voice, "Get a grip, citizen! You're facing a unit commander, show some respect!"

His anger reached its peak, and he became so furious that, without realizing it, his ability, Eyes of the God, shifted from passive to active. His hair and eyes turned red. There were always pieces of garbage who took advantage of others in every era, but the fact that they had reappeared before him was driving him mad.

However, he had to maintain his composure for the sake of the innocent people around. So Aaron said, "Listen. If you mess with me, the only thing you'll get is harm. If you've come here to spew empty words, I can break your mouth and nose. But if you've come to die, I can't do that inside the tower. So, if you want, we can step outside."

The soldiers were shocked and angry. As a result, a burly soldier approached Aaron and made a move against him. Knowing that he didn't need to use any abilities against such a piece of garbage, Aaron effortlessly evaded the soldier's attack and swiftly delivered a powerful punch to the soldier's abdomen, causing him to drop to his knees.

Afterward, all the people around were shocked and relieved. Aaron looked at the people around him and saw the happiness on their faces. It was evident that the ones who had done these things to the woman he helped and to the other people were these worthless excuses for soldiers who called themselves soldiers. Understanding this infuriated him even more, and his hair and eyes changed color. They turned into a Crimson Red.

Aaron hadn't felt this angry in a long time. Even when he had been damaged by the low-level boss monster, his hair had only turned red. But now, the color intensity had evolved completely, becoming a deep crimson red. He clenched his teeth tightly and stared at the soldiers with such intensity that some of them fell to the ground out of fear, while others began to stagger in their places.

Aaron was not a good person. In fact, he considered himself one of the worst sinners. He didn't even want to keep the bodies of the people he deemed as evil alive; let alone sparing their lives. And the people in front of him right now fit perfectly into this portrait of evil in his eyes.

He kicked the fallen soldier who was on his knees, and the soldier flew back about 3 meters.

"So, you want to fight!" Aaron said in a very serious tone, accompanied by a stern gaze, and then he walked towards the commander.

"No, please... Don't come any closer!!" the commander pleaded in fear, and then he fell to the ground. He fell just from someone walking towards him. With each passing second, he was sinking lower and lower. He was truly nothing but a parasite.

In the end, no one would die inside the tower, and moreover, no one would even get hurt. Of course, there could be fights and people could experience pain, but the fact that no one would die gave the soldiers a great advantage.

Aaron grabbed the commander by his military uniform and made his way through the crowd of people and soldiers, exiting the tower. Then, he forcefully threw the commander forward.

"AAAGGK!" the commander screamed as he hit the ground hard.

Aaron walked towards the fallen commander and drew his sword. The sword shimmered in the moonlight, as if it were looking at the commander. For the commander, the sword seemed to be on fire, as if a god had descended from the sky to make him pay for all the sins he had committed. He didn't want to accept his fate, but what could he do while he was in front of such a god?

Afterward, the sword descended upon the commander's neck, and a sound was heard, "THUD!" The commander's head fell to the ground. The people and soldiers in the tower were shocked. No one expected that someone who had just helped the people would do such a thing, so everyone was frozen in fear. Then Aaron turned around, his hair and eyes returning to their normal black color, and spoke calmly:

"I told you, if you want to fight, we can exchange punches inside, and you'll lose. If you prefer the other option, I can kill you outside. Your commander was looking at me with his bad and ugly eyes, interrogating me without reason, so I took his head. Don't consider me a prophet just because I helped a few people." he said.

These were the things that happened to the people he portrayed as evil. Then Aaron uttered one more sentence.

"Believe me. I am not a good person."
