Chapter 17 - Volume 1 - Chapter 17: High Orc

Aaron left the safe zone and tried to search for the mini boss monsters, but it was in vain as there was no trace of them. He planned to return to the World Tower, take a short break for a meal, and then continue searching for them, thinking they might be on the other side of Leeds.

As he approached the tower, he saw people fighting outside and wanted to help them. He drew his sword and increased his speed.

Within 10 seconds, he reached the battlefield and with his sword, he swiftly made small but effective moves, rendering the monsters ineffective. Although the experience points from the goblins wouldn't benefit him, he was confident that it would be good for the other humans to become stronger.

Only a few goblins were killed in the encounter. "Thank you, sir!" shouted one of the children in the group. The child appeared to be around Dahlia's maximum age, around 15, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Aaron nodded in response to the child's kind words and quickly entered the tower, surprising the people inside as they didn't expect him to return so soon. There was a hint of joy in their voices because even their families wouldn't help them, but this young man had come to their aid.

Aaron swiftly entered the World Tower market and purchased another ice ball. So far, he had bought three total bags, costing him 180,000 gold. He was grateful for being frugal in his previous life and accumulating so much gold.

"Young master?" a voice called out from behind Aaron, and he turned to face the person. The man before him was one of the soldiers without a dark heart.

"Yes?" Aaron replied.

"Ah... I was just surprised by your early return, forgive me," said the soldier.

"Well, there are things I need to acquire. After getting them, I will go hunt down the mini boss monsters roaming outside," Aaron explained.

"I don't understand," said the soldier.

"There's nothing you can't understand. For now, I need to minimize the danger for all of you. We have a country to gather," Aaron replied. The soldier's eyes lit up. He already thought Aaron was a good person, but embracing such a mindset left him in awe.

Of course, in Aaron's mind, being as frugal as he was, his only concern was the "tax immunity" he might receive if he collected the country. He still had the pure villainous intention and acted accordingly. In return for that, they could at least prevent the emergence of a single devil clan or any similar evil entity, right?

After finishing his conversation with the soldier, Aaron re-entered the market as if nothing had happened and looked at the other items he needed to buy.

" Ice Accumulation, check... Silver spear, check. Lastly, healing potions... yes, a few healing potions should do," he whispered in a low voice.

After purchasing around 20 healing potions, Aaron closed the market and turned around to find the little child he had helped earlier standing before him.

"Thank you very much for your help earlier, sir. My group and I were struggling," the child said.

Upon hearing these words, Aaron smiled kindly and lovingly replied, "You are a large group, don't trouble yourselves with big things. Level up first, then you can take on larger groups. It will make your job easier."

"I understand..." the little child said with a smiling face, but then his expression suddenly changed. "Oh, by the way, one of the rats dropped an item. If you want, you can take it," he added. Aaron was surprised by the child's words because the dropped item could be sold for a significant amount of unit points in the market.

"No need for that. Sell those items in the market. You can earn a good amount of money. Gathering resources is much more important," Aaron replied.

"I understand..." the little child said, feeling embarrassed.

After patting the child's head, Aaron turned around and said, "Don't go outside for a while, at least for 3 or 4 days. And if you do go out, please hunt in nearby areas. It will be dangerous."

"Please take care of yourself!" the people shouted, but it only resulted in a smile from Aaron. The soldier next to him added, "Farewell, young master. Stay safe."

"Mhm, I entrust everyone to you," Aaron said and stepped outside the boundaries of the tower, using his Transference ability. He now had a large mana capacity and wasn't hesitant to use his abilities.

Inside the tower, the children whom he had helped were talking. "What's up, Pule? Why are you staring in the direction the lord went?" one of the girls asked.

"I was just thinking about how amazing he is, like... a leader worth following," Pule said suddenly, his blue eyes fixed on the path Aaron had taken.

-----

Aaron quickly began searching for traces of the High Orc or low-level High Ghost mini-boss monsters and soon came across one of the tracks. Serious damage was evident all around, and buildings lay in ruins. "High Orc," Aaron thought.

If one of these mini-boss monsters was indeed a "High Orc," the hunt could be easy because Aaron possessed a silver spear, one of the weaknesses of this species. Normally, he could finish the job with just a sword, but he had learned the hard way in his previous life how being cautious could be incredibly beneficial.

Aaron leaped from building to building at high speed, passing through areas where the tracks were deepest. A single clue would lead him to the mini-boss monster and make his task much easier.

Just as he reached the area where the tracks became more pronounced, a thunderous roar echoed around. Startled birds scattered in all directions, and the roar seemed to shake the windows of the still-standing buildings. Hearing the roar, Aaron activated his God's Eyes at full capacity, combining his heightened vision with a focus on the sound's source. What he saw in front of him made him happy.

"Bingo," he exclaimed with a delighted voice. The monster about 400 meters away was indeed a High Orc. He hadn't been mistaken, and that genuinely pleased him.

If the creature before him had been another mini-boss monster, he would have been somewhat disappointed. As known, all monsters provided different amounts of experience points, and this monster in front of him was a high-value experience point bank.

A High Orc would give approximately 250,000 experience points, and the highest level starting point Aaron would willingly seek up to level 75 would be 50,000. Finding this monster here made him happy because the decrease in experience points gained from monsters every 25 levels meant that going out to hunt a goblin and earning 150 experience points would be much, much worse.

Aaron approached within about 50 meters of the High Orc and took cover on the rooftop of a building, observing his surroundings. Although Aaron was powerful, he knew very well that the creature before him, no matter how small it appeared, was a boss-level monster. Even if he was confident he could defeat it, he was equally sure it wouldn't be easy.

After about 10 minutes of observation, Aaron drew his silver spear and started running swiftly towards the High Orc. He had his plan ready.

Of course, the High Orc had noticed Aaron's dark aura and turned towards him, sending an angry glare and letting out a roar, "ROAAAARR!!" At that moment, a system notification appeared:

"The High Orc has used Roar ability. Your abilities will experience a 15% reduction for 5 minutes."

Although this notification irritated him, he knew there was nothing he could do about it, so he had to quickly regain his composure. Using his Transcendence ability, he activated Elajiah's Fury, enhancing his aura and accelerating his physical functions. With his spear in hand, he swiftly made a move towards the High Orc.

Upon seeing this move, the High Orc immediately raised its weapon and tried to block Aaron's attack, but there was something it hadn't accounted for—it hadn't realized what kind of ability the young man in front of it was using.

Aaron quickly changed his direction in the air, descended to the ground, and maneuvered behind the Orc, making a move towards it.

"RAAAAARRR!" the High Orc screamed in fury and made another move towards Aaron. Aaron tried to block the Orc's attack with his sword, abandoning his spear, but there was something else he had forgotten: the High Orc was one of the boss monsters with the highest strength stat.

Unfortunately, Aaron couldn't block the Orc's move and was sent crashing down to the ground.

"Ahk!" he exclaimed in pain, but he already had a plan.

"Well done, you fell right into my trap," he said and instantly activated the Goddess's Aura ability. The area around him darkened, and his aura began to surge.

The Elajiah's Fury ability imbued in his sword suddenly took on a new color and darkened, significantly increasing his power.

In an instant, he freed himself from the Orc's blade and made a move towards it. The strike reached the Orc, eliciting another agonizing scream, "ROOAAAA!!" This time, the scream was shorter but conveyed the Orc's anger. Whether the Orc was furious or not didn't concern Aaron because all he wanted to do was leap back and position himself in the far corner of the area, which he did within a few seconds. Smirking at the Orc, he prepared for his next move.
