Chapter 2 - Looking for Mother

Feeling shocked by his actions over the past years, Frost realized it was time to reunite with his mother.

Being a fairy, his mother had a long life, unlike his father, a regular human with a maximum lifespan of a hundred years.

"Landell! Landell!"

With his decision set, he immediately looked for Landell. His self-proclaimed most trusted and loyal butler, these were the words that came from Landell himself.

As soon as he called Landell, he appeared immediately. Wondering about Landell's agility, Frost wondered which race his butler belonged to. An elf…?

"You called for me, Master?"

Assuming his most polite posture, Landell asked Frost.

"Landell, where's my mother? I want to see her?" Hearing his question, Landell showed a difficult face.

"Uhm, master... Your mother... How can I say this master... But you and your mother got into a fight 30 years ago, so I don't think your mother would want to see you..."

With great difficulties, Landell was able to finally say what was the current status between their mother and son relationship.

'Mother and me? A bad relationship?'

Frost recalled his mother smiling at him, always worrying about his well being and also his future spouse...

Now that he could think about it, he didn't even know if he had a wife yet. Ever since he was 13, his mother was already searching for a fairy in the immortal world that could become his fiancee.

'Don't tell me, I'm already widowed? Did I marry a full-blooded human and then she died? Was that the reason why I became a villain? For... Love?'

"Landell! Do I have a wife!? Dead or alive!?"

Having asked an unexpected question, Landell found himself at a loss for words. Could it be that his master's intense pursuit of becoming a mage had led him to neglect his personal relationships? Or was his master seeking an outlet for his pent-up…frustration?

"Master, don't worry. I will look for the finest woman willing to serve you. With that, you can vent all your frustrations!"

Once again, Butler Landell neglected his Master's next words as he bolted out of the office as soon as he dropped his words.

"Landell! Wait—! I'M NOT FRUSTRATED IN THAT AREA!"

Drained by all the things currently happening to him, Frost leaned on his chair and looked at the ceiling.

"Was I virgin for the whole century...?"

Realizing that fact, Frost could feel his spirit leaving body.

When the night came, it was time for bed. However, Frost didn't go to his chamber immediately.

He was still in his office, reading the history book of the Laradan Kingdom from 100 years ago. The copy of his family might be the only one left depicting the glorious days of their Larsh Family.

As one of the founders of the Kingdom, the First King bestowed upon Larsh the northern territories. They would protect the kingdom from monsters and exchange usable parts of the monsters with food for the people.

However, all that was left of Larsh County was a desolate land full of snow.

The once filled with vivacious laughter and serene town of Marsh, it was now abandoned full of building debris.

"Maybe this is the reason why Mother fought with me. She really like living together with the people of Larsh. Should I rebuild it? With the vast territory in my hands, I could easily create my own Kingdom!"

Filled with a newfound motivation, Frost searched for books related to establishing a kingdom and how to manage it.

While he was busy reading the book 'To be a king, he must be a great leader,' Landell came to knock at his office's door.

"Master! I went back to the Immortal world and found the most finest beauty that may suit your taste!"

As soon as he heard the words of Landell, Frost couldn't help but wash his face dry.

"Are you really my most loyal subordinate, Landell?"

Despite his dissatisfaction towards Landell, he still opened the door to see who were these finest beauty he was talking about.

However, as soon as he opened the door he saw the most shocking scene he ever saw.

A muscular werewolve, a bloodied ghost and a green slimy woman stading behind Landell.

"Landell… come inside for a moment," Frost seriously said to Landell as he was really starting to get pissed off towards Landell's doing.

"Master, don't they suit your taste? You would always wear a smile everytime we met new races in the immortal world."

With the words of Landell, Frost was able to get new information about himself. Though, he was not exactly happy.

"Landell, it's not about that. I'm not really sexually frustrated. I just asked if I have a wife! And also, I want to know the whereabouts of my mother…"

Landell was unsure how to respond to his Master's unexpected words. As a subordinate of the Villain, his usual role was simply to obey orders. His Master had never posed such questions before. It made him wonder if this was how his Master used to be before turning into a Villain.

Despite being touched by his Master's current gentle demeanor, Landell couldn't help but long for the powerful and intimidating Master he once knew.

After shedding some tears, he reached for a handkerchief and wiped them away.

Seeing Landell crying, Frost couldn't help but question himself if he had gone too far.

"Landell, sorry—"

"Master! Don't ever say sorry! You are the most powerful and fearful villain in the whole history! Don't worry, I will steel myself and find ways to recover your memory!" Landell declared as he twirled around Frost to show his idolization towards him. Even if his Master was in his most gentle state, Landell didn't want to hear any weak words coming from him, and saying sorry was something only the weak would say.

Seeing the current sight of Landell, Frost couldn't help but put an embarrassing smile.

'Is this how my subordinate usually acted? At this point I was not a villain, but just a joke in front of the people of the Laradan kingdom.'

Face palming himself once again, Frost decided that he really needs to go to bed now in order to end this day.

"Landell, let those ladies go back to the immortal world. I'm going back to my room and sleeping."

"Don't worry Master, I shall personally accompany those ladies back to their own home in the immortal world." With his Master's order, Landell immediately left Frost and went to the portal leading to the immortal world.

When Landell left, Frost could finally sighed of relief.

"Finally, a moment of peace!"
