"1031, you're released."
Upon hearing the news, Yvonne Young sat on her cold bunk, shocked for a full three minutes.
Her three-year sentence was over in just five months.
Five months ago, her life had gone through an earth-shattering change – her family went bankrupt, her father went to prison, she got divorced, and her ex-husband and mistress sent her to prison.
'Yvonne Young, Spence has collected a lot of evidence. Do you think he will let Yoel Young, the old man who once ruined him and me, off the hook?'
'But you can take the blame for that old man. Spence said he could help with that.'
When she entered prison, she was charged with additional offenses, including jailbreak and assault on police. She was locked up in a darkened chamber, never seeing daylight.
Even now, she still wore shackles on her feet, her ankles rubbed raw from repeated friction.
Yvonne clenched her fists tightly. Her left arm's injuries had almost healed, but her tormentors had inflicted new wounds on her right arm. The pain came in waves, and she could only grit her teeth and bear it. However, she was already surprised she could leave this place alive.
"Want some ointment?"
She limped out of the darkened chamber, and her escort brought her some ointment to apply. She glanced at the escort coldly but didn't accept it.
"Who got her released? If she keeps refusing medication and treatment, and something goes wrong, will we be implicated?"
The two escorts whispered their discussions behind her. Yvonne laughed, curious herself about who had opposed Spencer Sullivan and rescued her from this prison cell.
Whoever it was, she probably wouldn't be able to repay them in her lifetime.
Limping, Yvonne walked out of the towering prison gates.
She had not seen daylight in a long, long time. The sunshine burned her eyes, and her vision went black…
...
"Welcome to Celestia Airways again, and enjoy your trip."
As the gentle announcement played, the plane slowly taxiied to a stop. Yvonne looked out the window. After five years, she saw the sun of Eldoria City again.
Not planning to stay long in the country, she hadn't brought much luggage. She only carried along a small suitcase, wearing a baseball cap and a face mask, as she left the arrival gate and entered the lobby.
"These two are really a perfect match."
A few women stopped in front of her, looking enviously at the upper right corner.
Yvonne subconsciously followed their gaze. The airport's media screen was filled with the same news – today was the birthday of renowned pianist Mandy Carter. Fans had sent birthday blessings and even revealed that Mandy and the heir to the Starlight Group were getting closer.
Yvonne's hand gripping her suitcase tightened unconsciously, her nails nearly digging into her flesh.
In front of her were fans collecting birthday blessings for Mandy, most of whom wished Spencer Sullivan and Mandy well in their romance.
Yvonne had intended to go around them, but the fans blocked her way. "Miss, could you send Mandy a birthday greeting?"
She hadn't been in the city for five years and was well-covered, so she calmly faced the camera. "I wish her a happy birthday."
As the fan was about to say thank you, Yvonne added, "I heard Mr. Sullivan had been suffering from impotence. I wonder which miracle doctor cured him with such brilliant medical skills. Congrats."
After saying this, she nodded and left gracefully, leaving behind a dumbfounded crowd of onlookers.
