Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Listening to Gossip About Oneself On-Site_1

All eyes in the room focused on the man who entered. Howard Hamilton waved and smiled, "Spence, over here."

Spencer Sullivan wore a black striped shirt and black dress pants. As soon as he entered, his presence filled the room, and everyone looked at him. No escorts were allowed in Spencer Sullivan's company. Howard Hamilton hurried to explain, "This is the new singer from the bar. It's a complimentary service from the bar..."

Before he could finish, Spencer Sullivan cut him off with a cold voice, "It's my request."

Yvonne Young stared at the man at the door in shock. He was like an ice sculpture, and his coldness could be felt from a distance. He must have recognized her...

Yvonne Young was almost certain of her guess.

Anxious and uneasy, she worried that Spencer Sullivan would expose her in the next second. The once-proud heiress of the Young family had fallen so far as to sing in a bar.

Howard Hamilton and the others were even more surprised, "You requested her?"

Several people spoke at the same time, unable to believe it.

Curious about what was so special about the new singer that Spencer Sullivan would break his rule, Howard Hamilton got up and walked towards Yvonne Young. Yvonne tried to leave immediately. Before Howard Hamilton could get closer, she turned and ran toward the door, passing Spencer Sullivan, who grabbed her arm, "Did I say you could leave?"

His palm was warm, with calluses, yet soft.

Yvonne's breath caught as she looked into Spencer Sullivan's eyes filled with mockery, feeling as embarrassed as if her clothes had been stripped off.

But really, did she have any dignity left?

Her family went bankrupt, her father died because of a man, and she went to prison...

As she accepted the situation, she became more relaxed. She smiled at Spencer Sullivan and asked flirtatiously, "Mr. Sullivan, do you want me to sing or dance?"

Her other hand climbed onto Spencer Sullivan's shoulder.

Everyone was stunned, amazed that Spencer Sullivan hadn't pushed Yvonne Young away.

This was explosive, a man with a buzz cut excitedly brought over two drinks, "I told you, Spence, you should have been more open-minded. Mandy Carter is an understanding woman, not jealous like your ex-wife Yvonne Young."

Yvonne Young didn't expect to be seen as a jealous woman in their eyes. She married Spencer Sullivan and barely interacted with his friends. Even her relationship with Spencer Sullivan was limited to their bed.

Thus, her reputation for jealousy was truly inexplicable.

Yvonne Young lowered her head and laughed at herself.

Suddenly, someone on the sofa said, "I heard from my friend that he saw your ex-wife at D'Solomio yesterday."

Yesterday, Yvonne Young and Havana Quinn had dinner at D'Solomio.

She glanced secretly at the direction the voice came from—a slightly fat man in a floral shirt. Yvonne Young didn't know him, but from the way he spoke to Spencer Sullivan with reverence, it was clear their relationship wasn't very close.

Yvonne Young listened to her gossip behind the mask, feeling awkward yet novel as the conversation shifted to her.

"She was sentenced to five years, but only served five months. After that, there was no news of her."

Everyone present knew that Spencer Sullivan loathed Yvonne Young. The man in the floral shirt continued, "I heard she's been serving well-endowed foreigners abroad, her life must be tough now."

He finished with a very lewd laugh.

Yvonne Young clenched her fists, her arm muscles bulging, her hands gripping tightly.

The man beside her suddenly snatched the drink from the buzz cut man's hand and slammed it at the fat man, yelling, "Get lost!"
