"Shape-shifter, show your true form now."
It was a child's voice, speaking English, but the three Chinese words for "Shape-shifter" were in Chinese.
Spencer Sullivan was both angry and baffled.
Xander Hugh hurried over and asked the little boy, "Kid, you should go find your parents and not mess around with strangers."
He knew his boss very well, when he got upset, he wouldn't even let himself off the hook, let alone a naughty child.
However, the little guy gathered all his strength and pulled Xander Hugh behind him, shouting loudly, "Uncle, don't be afraid, I'll protect you, my dad said that this Shape-shifter is afraid of my Swift Firearm."
Such a strong sense of justice.
The boy's gun was pointed at Spencer Sullivan, and he kept firing.
Xander Hugh: "..."
He wanted to laugh, but he didn't dare.
How cute, innocent, and sincere this child was, it was obvious that he was a good person at first glance.
Spencer Sullivan's face was dark with rage. He bent down, reached out, and directly lifted the little boy up. "What did you say I am?"
Xander Hugh was so scared by this action that he broke out in a cold sweat, not to mention the little boy.
The little guy screamed loudly, "Shape-shifter, let me go!"
His two legs flailed wildly in mid-air.
Spencer Sullivan showed no sign of letting go. The boy was truly frightened and began to wail loudly, "Wuwu, the Shape-shifter is going to eat children, Aunt, save me!"
Unlike other children, this little one didn't cry for his mom when in danger, but for his aunt. His cries were right in Spencer Sullivan's ear.
He found it very annoying, frowning and disdainfully releasing his grip.
Fortunately, Xander Hugh anticipated this and caught the little boy with both hands. As soon as the child's feet touched the ground, Xander Hugh let go. Unexpectedly, the child's body suddenly went limp, as if all the bones were gone, and he collapsed softly on the floor, motionless.
The collapse was natural, surely not a ruse. Xander Hugh was terrified. He squatted down and tried to shake the little boy, "Hey, kid!"
There was no response. He was about to look up and ask Spencer Sullivan what to do, but Spencer had already picked the child up. The car was close by, and he carried the child in. Xander Hugh got in too.
With commanding voice, Spencer Sullivan said, "Drive."
Xander Hugh was surprised that his boss, who would never help after tripping someone, would take care of this. What if the child's parents tried to extort them?
Well, his boss had lots of money, so what did it matter if he got extorted?
It really took money. With money, one could help an elderly person on the street without worrying about the consequences. Since his boss was rich, as long as it was safe, he didn't even have to worry about red lights.
...
"You brought him back?"
Yvonne Young received a call from Zachary Young and freaked out.
She rushed to the door, looking around for the little boy. The phone rang suddenly, she thought it was from Yolanda, but the caller ID showed an unfamiliar number from Eldoria City. Not knowing who it was, she answered absentmindedly, still looking around.
"Are you Mason's aunt?"
A strange young woman's voice, Yvonne Young had a premonition that Yolanda was in trouble, and her heart was in her throat, "Yes... "
"He suddenly fainted and was taken to our City Central Medical Center. Please, get a family member here immediately."
Yvonne's face turned pale, and her phone dropped to the ground. Startled, she hurriedly bent down to pick it up.
She ran quickly to the corner to hail a taxi.
Spencer Sullivan didn't follow them into the emergency room. He leaned against the stone pillar outside the door, most of the cigarette in his hand burned away by the wind. Piles of ashes accumulated, very long. Xander Hugh came out and saw Spencer Sullivan's deep look. He walked over and reported, "We found the kid's family's contact information. The hospital will notify them to come over."
