"Daytime brightness!" Piro shouts as he charges in.
The light he illuminates turns the vampire into dust. "Holy restraint" chains of light come out of the ground and pass through the people. One charging at Piro.
"You idiot, they're not vampires!" I yell while running at the person charging at Piro, tackling him to the ground.
Scuttles run at one person, eating him and spitting him back out naked, collecting all his valuables while Julian unties Lia, and the others knock out the remaining guy.
Lia stands up lightheaded, and Julian looks at piro.
"What the hell was that about? You could've gotten one of us killed."
Piro nervously responds. "I'm sorry. When I saw them, I was immediately enraged and disgusted its an old habit from where I'm from, and it will not happen again." Piro responds.
"It better not. And you naked man, why did the vampire drain her blood not drink it?"
"I... I'm not sure for who, but he said he had to deliver it to his boss. We were just told to kidnap the otherworlder." He says as Julian as puts him to sleep.
Frank, Piro and Gabe carry the people to the local dungeon. Handing them over to the guards, we tell them they conspired with vampires. We then head back to the inn for the night.
"Hey Piro, what did you mean by it's an old habit? What kind of dungeon are you from?" I ask.
"I'm not from a dungeon. I was the holy hands, right-hand man. We were taught all dark beings are to be killed instantly, even the Nephalem children we had, if they showed any chances of turning into demons. The holy hand started thinking humans are as disgusting and started to put rules in place to stop us from entering earth. I escaped before then as I found the entire thing wrong."
"Doesn't that mean you're the second strongest angel?" I ask.
"Hahaha, no, I couldn't awaken even one angelic eye, but the Holy hand awakened both. I was just trained better than others and did a lot of work for him. However, we are naturally better than demons. Their demonic future sight is random, and they only live a few thousand years while we live hundreds of thousands of years. I can't imagine your strength if you hadn't had your demon side sealed."
I look at Piro and then down. "I can't either. However, I do not wish to know if I'll lose control again."
We then head to bed for the early morning to follow. The group heads down after a long needed rest. A bard is playing music with a lute while guards and drunk heads come in for the time of their lives.
Having some mead and bread, Piro and I head out, trying to see if I can spot any more vampires with my eye. Passing by the center of the kingdom during our travels.
A woman being burned on a cross and people cheering around watching it. I look at the scene, astonished.
"What the hell is going on? We need to save her Piro."
"No, we are here to only do our job not to interfere with their customes or anything else got it."
"Yes, sir," I say, continuing on our way. I see a glimmering outline of a person, but nobody is there. I tell Piro, and we follow the faint trail we have leading us to a large mansion.
"Alright, let's not pry any further. Let's report back and come here later on." Piro says. Turning back, we head to the inn, telling the group about the burning women and the mansion, likely with a vampire inside.
Gathering our stuff, we head to the extravagant mansion. As it starts to pour rain, we knock on the door.
"Who may you all be? I don't remember hearing anything about guests from our Lord Andrew the third." A shimmering butler with a lavish mustache full suit and tie asks.
"We were given documentation from the king allowing us to come as we please, sorry for the intrusion." Julian says as we walk in. Tons of maids and butlers are surrounding the place, glowing slightly.
(They can't all be vampires, can they?)"Hey Julian, I want you to just know everyone in here is shimmering." I whisper as the minister of finances walks down the stairs.
"Ahhh, the group the king let in. I saw you when you arrived. Stay as long as you'd like here. You'd find out I have no relation to vampires." He says, smiling, his stomach bouncing as he walks down.
"Mind if I test that?" Piro asks, hiding the fact he's an angel.
"Fine by me."
"Daytime brightness" Piro yells a bright light shining though the room, Andrew laughing up a storm.
"Alright, that's proof enough. Goodbye."
(That idiot Piro, if he's old enough to resist sunlight, then what was the point of a light spell?)
"Let me try something please," I say aloud.
"No, you've made enough of a mess. Leave before I call guards."
"Ugh, please work, or I'm going to have hell to pay. Holy restraint!" I shout chains coming out of the ground holding all the butler's maids and lord down.
"Now the question is, are they all vampires, or is it only one of them?"
"You'll never know. Just let us. go you have no proof we did anything wrong." The lord yells trying to worm his ways out of the chains.
"We'll bring them all to the local prison and notify the guards. Maybe they can find out. Check the rooms for any evidence or others." Julian says
Gabe and I head up looking into the rooms, one door filthy stained with blood and claw marks. We feel an ominous presence behind it.
Gabe slowly opening the door to what looks like the lord's office space with a desk chair and bookcases to the sides, a loaf of bread on the table. Checking cabinets and the bookcase for any clues about who could be the vampire.
We hear a mumbling over near the table, followed by maniacal laughter. "You thought I was just a normal loaf of bread, but it's me, delicious and loafy Bio!"
