The team is all out of breath after the onslaught of vampires sit around.
"Didn't you all take on an abnormal S rank dungeon before? Why was this B rank one so much trouble for you all?" Trevor asks, aggravated.
"Well, first saying it was abnormal was off to begin with. It's just that most enemies in that dungeon couldn't fit through the portal. Secondly, we had a highly experienced hunter with us and another person immune to their attacks. Lastly, you wanted us to take these vampires on during a blood moon the time they're at their strongest, so don't complain to me," Julian snaps back.
"Stop fighting guys. There's still one vampire unaccounted for." I tell them.
"Who wants to bet he's nice and just in hiding?" Frank laughs jokingly.
"Sure, I'll take that bet the one who's right gets the other's reward from the king." Gabe replies.
We head back to the inn since it's the middle of the night, not wanting to deal with another vampire on a blood moon. Giving my arm a rest to heal.
Waking up, my scar on my chest fully healed yet my arm still immobile, the group decides to all go together into the town to look for the last vampire.
We see a very pale woman with bite marks buying some bread. We follow her to a dark cabin on the outskirts of the kingdom.
Peeping through the window, we see a vampire kiss her as she brings in groceries. Julian signals us to come to the door. She knocks and the woman and vampire come to answer.
"Alright, sir, are you going to put up a fight or not? We killed the rest of the vampires in the kingdom via the king's orders. You're the last accounted for."
"Please don't harm him. He's done nothing. Wrong, he's only drank my blood and animals, he refuses to kill anyone. C-can't you just ignore him o-or take him back with you? It may be safer were your from." She pleads Frank, looking at Gabe smiling.
"I won the bet."
Julian looks aggravated at Frank.
"Shut up, you two. We don't have time for this. We can try to take him back with us, but that depends on the king. He may let us as long as he's not in this place."
The woman agrees and we all head to the castle. Standing before the kings and his loyal guards.
"Have you completed your task? This was very fast, and who is this new person?" His majesty's question.
"My name is Vex, your highness. I have never once drank someone's blood that did not give me permission beforehand and I've never killed. Nonetheless, I'm still a vampire I've lived on the outskirts of the kingdom for hundreds of years and so I pled to you let me go back with these people from where they came and I will never bother your people again." Vex says.
"As long as I don't see your kind anymore, I do not mind. Now guards hand out the rewards to the otherworlders before they leave. We are given the mana stones and ores.
Frank having a smug smile on his face as Gabe gives him his share. Piro pops the mana stone in his mouth, and we all walk through the portal. On the other side, Trevor and I pop the mana stones in our mouths.
We look confused. "I don't feel any different."
"What do you mean when I ate it, I felt like a wave crashed into me? I feel more energized then ever, and I can tell my mana grew." Piro explains, bewildered by my statement.
"Hmm, maybe it's because we ate it after coming back to earth. I also felt nothing from the stone."
Disappointed, the group splits up the other guilds team heads to their guild, taking Vex with them as a new member while we grab our payment and head back to London.
"Good news is that I may be able to afford a robotic arm now with all my cash and this ore. I'll ask Glórn if he knows how to make one." Frank says giddy in the front seat.
Piro drops Julian and me off at home. "I'll take this lump of metal to the guild to see if he can get any more metal in him. You all take care." Piro says, driving off.
We head inside, turning on the TV. I pour myself some tea to drink while Julian takes a shower. "All of Europe and America have signed a new law in effect starting Monday staging their will no longer be a need to go into dungeons in groups. it's completely optional. however its still advised as we never know the dangers." The lady on the TV announces.
Julian comes out of the shower, and I take my turn, having been a filthy mess from the dungeon.
I come out of the shower, sit on the couch with Julian watching some anime, and call in some Uber.
"So I was wondering what's it like being able to fly in dungeons? It must feel so freeing like you can nearly do anything." Julian asks curiously.
"The delivery won't be for another thirty minutes. Let me show you." I respond Julian looking at me confused as I grab her hand dragging her outside.
"It's pretty dark so don't worry about being seen." I grab her waist my wings expanding as I lift her into the air.
Julian's eyes close, being terrified. She slowly opens them widely to observe the bright city below looking up at me while flying she sees the stunning night stars. We fly around the town for half an hour before arriving back home. Food at our doorsteps.
"Nux, that was amazing. I can't believe you can see something like that whenever." Julian says her eyes lit with excitement.
"I prefer the view from down here.… So, umm, i was wondering for a while if there was something you'd like to go out and do? Just the two of us." I ask embarrassed.
