"Meeting you was a miracle. I thought I could never be as happy as before, but I was wrong," Xyriel said gently as he concluded his past story.
"Thank you, Zinnia, for becoming my friend and for listening to my story," he added.
Tears streamed down my face as I heard Xyriel recount his past and the hardships he had endured. His kindness and resilience despite it all touched my heart deeply, and I couldn't help but cry on his behalf.
"Z-Zinnia? Why are you crying?" Xyriel looked at me with concern.
"Xyriel..." I called out with tears in my eyes and snot on my nose.
"Xyriel, *Sniff- how were you able to endure such hardships?" I asked while wiping my nose.
"It wasn't easy, but honestly, I'm not sure myself," Xyriel chuckled.
I stood up from my seat, walked in front of him, and hugged him tightly. "You've been through so much, and you've endured it all. For that, I'm proud of you, Xyriel," I said softly, holding him close.
