Leo is a second year student with a charming personality and an easy-going nature. However, underneath his calm and laid-back exterior, was a beast with immense power. He was one of the few in the second year that had a serpent class ability, allowing him to produce and control poison at will. Unlike users such as Madison, he was not only able to produce poison, but he is also able to control poison while it is outside his body, and can even control it while it is inside the body of his opponent, either saving their life, or ending it sooner than expected.
He is the Titan five of the second year students, someone who is highly respected amongst his peers for his brilliance and tenacity. Today, everyone was interested in seeing him in action, even though it was against someone who was barely worth his time.
Despite hearing the loud cheers the students were shouting at Leo, Steve did his best not to get gazed by it. Even glancing at him, the calm aura around him was just making him more nervous. It was clear he had no intentions of taking this fight seriously.
Steve struggled to steel his resolve, meanwhile, a dinging sound had been heard, signalling the start of the match. a large holographic screen was projected above everyone in the Arena, which showed a countdown. The moment the match had begun, so did the countdown. The first thing Steve did was to create more distance between himself and his opponent.
However, Leo, using his speed, was able to quickly close the distance, landing a solid punch to the gut, causing Steve to hunch forward in pain, blood spewing from his mouth. His eyes were wide in shock, as the fist continued to go deeper into his abdomen, crushing his bones in the process, which managed to tear up his abdomen and skin as well. His body was nearly ripped in half from that strike, however, he was still conscious, but what could he do now?
Josh, who was in the fighters' room as well, was watching the match closely on a holographic screen projected in the room as well. Everyone was gathered in front of the screen, paying close attention to the match that was currently taking place. A few of them were beginning to regret the fact that they had been selected for this silly competition. After seeing the hefty blow Steve had received, shivers had been sent through their bodies They could hear the loud bang that followed, as he vomited a large amount of blood from that blow.
It was still just three seconds into the match, and the second year student quickly grabbed Steve by the neck, before crushing it with force, finally causing him to loose consciousness. Everything had happened in the span of just five seconds, and a clear winner had emerged.
Watching how one of their fellow classmates had been easily dealt with like so, everyone began to think of all the excruciating training they had been put through since their first day at the academy. They had barely gotten any chance to catch a break, as classes were held on Saturday and Sunday as well. Everything had been about intense training to push their limits.
And a lot of them had been able to. improve beyond they initially thought to be impossible for them. However, after seeing how this one second year student had made all of their efforts seem like trash, more than half of the remaining students didn't feel like participating anymore.
The next two student who was meant to participate from both the first and second year had both been called, and stepping into the Arena, Shawn had his eyes facing the VIP area, where a woman with short black hair with streaks of white around the front was seated, wiping her nose before placing her glasses back on to the roof of her nose.
Shawn then turned his attention towards his opponent, who happened to be Patricia from the second year. Stepping into the main arena, there was some strong sense of confidence around her as she waltzed towards the centre to meet her opponent. Seeing her from the other room, Kayden's heart began to beat rapidly, as he held his chest, remembering the time when she had struck him with too much force during the time that he had been abducted.
Meanwhile, the second year students were cheering loudly for her, some even screaming words such as 'marry me,' or 'will you be my girlfriend?' A lot of the boys in the second year were swooning over her, not only because of her power, but also her face and body. Being a young woman who was gracefully endowed in all the right places, and having a face that would make most boys, and even some girls melt, she was certainly an eye candy for the students.
But today, she was here to prove something that she had been doing ever since she had joined the academy herself, and that was the fact that she was the boss. That she was above everyone else.
Not too long ago, her and Henry had gotten into a fight for his rank. Before that day, she was Titan two, while he was Titan one. The fight had happened right after Titan three had challenged for his rank, and after winning that match, Patricia had challenged him straight after, using that opportunity to become the highest ranked student in the entire academy.
Once she had arrived at the centre of the Arena, standing right in front of Shawn, the first year student began to clap his hands slowly, causing her to raise a questioning eyebrow.
"Hmm... are you clapping because you want to applaud me for winning this contest? Then in that case, I must humbly decline. I don't accept appreciation from losers," she said with a light chuckle at the end, flipping her long black hair to the side while blowing a kiss and winking to the second year students in the spectators' area, causing loud screams to break out from that section, and even a couple students here and there to faint from over joy.
"But don't feel too bad about it. You're the second strongest student amongst your peers, right? Be proud that at least you are dominant amongst a group of nothing but lowly flies," she said, laughing to herself once again.
Shawn began to chuckle more than he did before, shaking his head while looking at the ground, his hair covering the expression on his face. Seeing his reaction, Patricia was starting to loose her patience with him, as her eyebrows furrowed and her smile vanished completely from her face.
"You fool! What's so funny? Do you think being weak and pathetic is a joke? I'll crush you if you don't stop laughing this instant and there's nothing you can do about that! You're far too weak to even lay a finger on me!" she yelled, her eyes starting to glow.
"You know, it's kinda funny. You know, how to have my brother wrapped around your dirty little fingers. You even got him to challenge your Titan one simply because you wanted an easy way to the top. How pathetic. And here you are, calling yourself strong and me weak. Only a scared weakling would ever seek the assistance of others. They're just too weak to achieve anything on their own. Lemme guess, that power you have doesn't even belong to you does it?"
Hearing what he had just said, everyone in the crowd suddenly fell silent. Also, those who were in the other room had their mouths wide open in shock. Even Kayden was taken aback by what his roommate had just said outside in the Arena.
'Damn. This guy must be in need of a death wish, or something. He's dead meat,' Kayden thought to himself, remembering what had happened to him that day. He could remember a chunk of what had occured vividly, while majority of what had happened was blurred, being replaced mostly by the excruciating pain he had been dealt with. His brain couldn't remember most of what those second year students had done to him back then.
Plus, the fact that the instructor who had approached that day didn't take any further action against either him or the second year students, was making him wonder whether or not if something else had happened on that day.
Meanwhile, at the centre of the Arena, Patricia, his opponent, after hearing the words that had come out of Shawn's mouth, had her eyes wide open in shock. She could feel a shiver run down her entire body as she didn't expect for him to respond in such a way.
The students from both the first and second year were dead silent. No one dared to utter a single word at this point in time, as all eyes were fixated on the second year student below. The match had yet to begin, but it seemed as though everyone had forgotten about this fact, as a dinging sound could be heard the next second, bringing everyone present out of their daze.
"Well, this might be interesting," the middle-aged woman seated in the VIP area said to herself, while petting the fluffy cat which was laying lazily on her lap.
