Chapter 7 - The Infernal Awakens

Cold!

A frigging coldness. Massive storms raged through the lands like angry tides as snow poured down in massive quantities. There was nothing in sight for thousands of miles as everything was completely covered in snow.

The colour of the moon was frigging white, painting the entire place in a white light but it wasn't releasing an aura of peacefulness, instead one would fill their heart beating wildly at the sight of the white moon.

Amidst the extreme weather condition, a battered young man covered in blood soaked red robes could be seen. His lips were covered in blocks of ice, his black hair turning white completely.

Every footstep of his though shaky were firm while a determined expression lay on his face.

Laying on his back was a figure with long white hair who seemed to want to burrow in him for comfort.

Lucian's eyes darted around the place, a little shocked by the change in weather condition but he ignored it as he tried to look for a place to stay and it wasn't long when he found a cave beneath a tall mountain.

He normally would have doubted if there was something living in it but he couldn't care less as all his blood had already been chilled already. Entering into the place, it was dry and very warm. He entered deeply, and fortunately there was no sign of a beast being present within.

Lucian finally took a deep breath in as a gentle laugh escaped his lips. Even though it was one heck of a night, his will to not give up finally saved them both. His mind trailed to the girl he placed behind him all this time as he gently lowered her on the floor but his mind went numb when he saw how cold Mia's body was.

Her body temperature was deathly low, while red blood trailed down at the corner of her lips.

Lucian's heart pounded madly within his rib cage when he reached to her back and saw the arrow lodged into it.

It seems an arrow pierced into Mia at the last second before they entered into the vortex.

"Mia, Mia." Lucian called out repeatedly to no avail as the cave was deadly silent.

'She might have passed out from the pain.' Lucian said trying to calm his heart but his uncontrollably shaking hands showed his failure in doing so. He gently unbuttoned his cloth and placed it by his side before taking a deep breath in.

His hand reached out for the arrow in her back as he counted to three before yanking it off in one stroke causing a gasping sound to emerge from Mia's mouth.

"Mia, Mia, are you alright..." Lucian said as he placed his shirt at the spot of the injury, which was quickly soaked in blood in the next second.

"Luc..." a gentle whisper escaped Mia's mouth ringing in the cave.

"We are safe Mia, now, I just need you to be quiet, while I treat your injury, ok?" Lucian.

Lucian stared at the robe he placed under her injury but it was useless as blood kept rushing out of the wound.

His eyes strained to the absolute limit, as he located where the wound could possibly come from, but Lucian saw something that he never wanted to believe.

The hole at Mia's back was exactly where her heart would normally be. The blood kept rushing out because her heart has been punctured by the arrow head.

Lucian's mind became clouded as tears unconsciously streamed out of his eyes.

The blood already covered them both as he did all he could to stop it from flowing but it all ended in failure. Her heart had been punctured, there might be hope of her surviving if there was a powerful healer nearby, but he was extremely faraway from the clan or anything like that right now.

He placed his hands on the spot trying to stop the blood but they only poured out more.

Pain, Anger, Despair, and Regret. All the emotions came flooding in all at once as a stifled sound of crying echoed in the cave.

"Luc, will.. will...I...be ok." a innocent voice said to him but for the first time, Lucian didn't know how to respond. What lie could he give again.

Tears streamed out of his eyes from the pain with some gently landing on Mia's snow white face as a tear drop rolled down her eyes too.

"I'm sorry Mia, I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I'm so useless. It was because I wasn't strong enough. If I..."

"It's not your fault Luc.., you did your best..." Mia said, a smile appearing on her face, but couldn't help to stop Lucian from crying even harder.

"You know Luc, being in the dark and unable to see or even know what light is, is a very stifling and scary thing. But not for me as you were always there for me. You were that light that I needed and that light was always there when I needed it. When you could have abandoned me and escape, you didn't Luc. Even when I can walk myself, you will always insist on carrying me there.

There wouldn't be much meaning to live without you there, Luc."

Mia said her voice getting weaker with every word.

"I don't blame you Luc, and you should never blame yourself too." Mia said as he hand slowly reached up towards his face wiping of his tears.

"You know, there's only one thing I regret in life."

"And what could that be?" Lucian said staring at her deathly white face that filled his heart with pain.

"My life is the most perfect thing I could ever wished for. But the only thing I regret, is not able to see what you really look like physically Lucian."

Mia said as her hand gently roamed around his face.

"I.. Love...you...brother..." Mia said in a gentle whisper while her hand slowly dropped from his face and on Lucian's chest, lifelessly.

"Mia, Mia, Mia..."No matter how hard Lucian shaked her or screamed, it was in vain.

"Mia, talk to me, please, don't leave me alone, I haven't taught you how to swim yet. I haven't tell you I love you too, yet. I haven't take you in a walk in the forest yet.Mia, Miaaaaaa..."

The sound of a broken cry echoed in the forest, passing through the blowing deadly storm of the snow but was soon drowned in it.

It was a the cry of a young man losing the only thing left in his life. The pain of losing an only family.

It is said that a man's true nature is shown after he lost what matters most to him.

But to Lucian, that pain was the final catalyst needed to change his pure soul into that of an Infernal.

A chain clattered repeatedly in Lucian's soul as an unfathomable entity once again awakened. A malevolent race known for its devilish power. A race which once drowned the Absolute cosmos in blood.

Today the word will once again witness the birth of an Infernal Devil.
