In a dimly lit room, there lay a young man named Leo Valzet.
Before him rested a small red bottle, its crimson contents shimmering like liquid rubies, emitting an otherworldly glow. This was the exclusive Awakening Potion—the key to surpassing the limits of human body of any 16-year-old in the current Era of Awakeners.
But Leo was not 16. He had missed the opportunity to receive the potion, and now, at the age of 24, with his parents already leaving him behind, he felt like life haa also left him behind.
As he hesitated, torn between the yearning for extraordinary abilities and the fear of what might happen, a faint creak echoed through the chamber.
Startled, Leo turned to find the source of the sound. It was minuscule, no bigger than a finger, but it possessed butterfly-like wings, bull-like horns, and countless legs resembling those of a centipede. The creature darted away, leaving Leo in awe.
After The Cataclysm, animals who were blesses by Mana had mutated and evolved becoming the greated enemy of humans.
As he pondered the strange creature's existence, Leo's heart pounded with curiosity and excitement. He decided to take a leap of faith.
"I don't know what will happen if I don't Awaken," he murmured, taking a deep breath to steady his nerves.
With newfound determination, Leo uncorked the bottle, feeling a rush of anticipation and trepidation. He raised it to his lips and consumed the potion in one swift gulp, a burst of tingling sensation spreading through his body. He closed his eyes and focused, following the advice he had read in an article-Guide to Awakening.
The room seemed to pulsate with energy as Leo's body reacted to the potion. A burning pain surged through his veins, causing him to clench his fists. Just when he thought he couldn't endure any longer, the pain abruptly subsided.
Opening his eyes, Leo noticed that nothing has change. He knew he failed. Out of frustation he tightened his hand so hard the good luck charm he bought with the Awakening Potion made an wound in his hand.
In his outstretched palm, he saw the once-cube-shaped good luck charm had transformed into a sinister, writhing black liquid. Before he could comprehend what was happening, the dark substance seeped into his skin through an open wound.
Panic surged through Leo as he felt something foreign moving inside him.
The pain returned with a vengeance, tearing through every fiber of his being. He collapsed to the floor, writhing in agony as the dark liquid continued its invasive journey.
