Chapter 8 - Shopping

Leo stepped into the room he had booked, and his eyes widened in surprise.

The space was spacious and well-furnished, featuring a comfortable bed, a large television, a stocked refrigerator, a full-length mirror, and a writing desk.

For the price he paid, around 30k AP for a week's stay, he couldn't believe his luck. "Man, money sure is important," he thought, a sense of satisfaction washing over him.

His hands clutched a bag full of nine Monster Cores he had obtained recently, and a wide grin spread across his face.

Gently placing the bag aside, Leo felt the urge to relish the room's comfort. With a leap, he landed on the soft bed. "This bed sure is magical! It makes the whole room even better," he exclaimed, enjoying the cozy embrace of the bed for a moment.

After reveling in the comfort, Leo's focus shifted to his status screen. He scanned his details, feeling a mixture of contentment and determination.

[Status]

Name: Leo Valzet

Realm: G-

Bloodline: Devouring Bloodline

Unique Ability(s): [Voice Changing] [Drain]

[Voice Changing]: Able to change voice to a minor degree.

[Drain]: Able to drain the vitality of living beings and replicate its own.

"Hahaha, I really got this [Voice Changing] ability in time. If not, I would have had to settle for that measly 10k AP. Thanks to the various monster abilities related to voice, I got lucky and obtained this Unique Ability."Leo's eyes twinkled as he recalled how luck and his Devouring Bloodline had granted him the coveted [Voice Changing] ability.

He then looked at the [Drain] ability, remembering the cold eyes of the monster he had slain to obtain it. "There are so many mysteries to unravel, and the only way to do that is by getting stronger," he declared, the fire of determination burning in his soul.

Monster Cores not only makes one stronger but also allowes one to gain abilities possessed by monsters. The main factors influencing whether he/she obtaines an ability depends on luck and compatibility. In Leo's case, he had an extremely compatible Devouring Bloodline with a bit of luck, which led to acquiring the [Drain] ability associated with his bloodline.

This was why Monster Cores were rarely sold since their uses far surpassed the money one could get from selling them.

Reflecting on the value of Monster Cores, Leo absorbed all nine of them. The cores surged with power as his Mana capacity increased, and the quality of his Mana improved. However, he was still at the [G- Realm], longing for greater strength.

Checking the wall clock, Leo's mischievous side took over. "It's only 11 AM. Since I have money, why not... hehehe."

Leaving his room, Leo headed towards City 8's Awakeners Centre.

City 8's Awakeners Centre stood grand and captivating, painted in white and red, with a prominent signboard. Countless people were bustling in and out, making it a bustling hub.

The shop was unlike regular malls, with thousands of screens displaying information about the products. In front of each screen, there were tokens representing the number of units of the item available. To purchase, one had to take the token and give it to the person at the selling counter, who would then bring the product, and after payment, the item was yours.

Leo carefully browsed through everything in the shop and selected a few items. He handed them to the person at the selling counter, who wore a yellow shirt with red stripes and black pants.

The seller glanced at Leo's purchases and his face, and thought to himself, 'This guy is probably one of those perverts who drink Monsters Blood, well, whatever, he already paid the money, and I don't have any problem. Why bother?'

After receiving the items in a small plastic bag, Leo made his way back to his room.

Meanwhile, a bald and bulky man in a black suit with black glasses, sweating profusely, reported to the Manager, "Sir, the person you told us to keep an eye on just bought a dagger and some monster blood. In total, he spent 75k AP."

The Manager seemed unusually angry today, and the bald bodyguard worriedly thought, 'This is not good for me.'

"Tsk. Tell everyone in the Awakeners Centre not to sell anything to him, or they'll lose their jobs. Confiscate everything he has in City 8," the Manager commanded sternly.

"Yes, boss," the bald bodyguard hurriedly left and made several phone calls.

Alone, the Manager's face twisted with malice. "The moment you enter a Monster Domain, that will be the last day of your life," he muttered, his tone chilling.
