It was a bright and sunny morning at some school in Karumai Japan, the name isn't important. It's a relatively big school with roughly two thousand students and 48 classes. There are 3 buildings on campus, the main building and two others that aren't important either. Students' chatter could be heard as they walked through the school gates, the bell was about to ring in fifteen minutes.
At the main building, in one of the halls, on the third floor of its 5 stories.
"Good morning, Yumiko," said a student as they passed a girl in the hall.
"Morning" replied the girl as she walked.
"Morning, Yumiko!" said another with a wave.
"Morning," said Yumiko.
Yahkato Kuyumiko, a 2nd year at some school whose name isn't important, is the most popular at her school. She's a beautiful girl with long straight blonde hair, light blue beady eyes, long lashes, porcelain skin and a heartwarming smile.
She was wearing a white school shirt with a royal purple collar and a red bow tie, a purple skirt, white lace stockings, and black shoes. She also wore a thin silver chain necklace with a big pretty diamond in the shape of a teardrop.
Multiple students walked behind her as she went through the halls. One of the students at the front of the crowd had a bag on his back and was holding a dark blue book school bag in his hands carefully, it was clearly Yumiko's own.
Yumiko then reached her classroom and at the entrance, "Thank you, guys, for walking me to my class. You're all so sweet," with a sweet smile she said to the people who were following her. It was as if they melted at the sight of her smile.
"And thank you for holding my bag for me," she said to the person who was holding her book bag.
"It was my pleasure holding your bag, Yumiko," he said with a smile and a dumb look on his face.
Yumiko tried to enter the classroom. In her sight there is a blackboard to the right, the teacher's desk in front of it, and to the far right of the teacher's desk in the corner of the room is a bookshelf. To the left of the room are 42 wooden desk chairs in 6 rows of 7.
"Good morning!" A female group of students said, stopping Yumiko before she could enter her class.
"Morning to you guys too," she said with a warm and welcoming smile as she had everyone else.
She went to her seat and started taking out her book for class but before she could sit, someone came to her again.
"Hey, Yumiko, can I borrow your notes for chemistry? I wasn't here last week," a male student asked with an awkward smile as he nervously stacked his head.
"Yeah, I don't mind. One second," Yumiko said with a cheerful smile then went into her bag and gave him a notebook.
"Thanks, Yumiko!" He said as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders from her smile before he left.
"Do you have the homework from yesterday?" Asked a student who always relied on Yumiko. Like a lot of other people did.
"Of course, you know I got you. We have a project due tomorrow but don't worry, I did most of it for you. You just have to finish it"
She gave him the homework and mostly finished project as it was already on her table. She knew he would come to her as he always did.
"Thank you," he said with a bow.
"No problem but you have to do your homework yourself next time! I won't always be able to help you but as long as I am, I will"
Yumiko grinned as she gave those words of wisdom while holding her hands behind her back.
"Yeah, I will, Yahkato," he said with a straight face but a slight blush.
"You know you're the only one that still calls me by my last name," she said, after letting go of her hands and leaning on her desk.
"It's because I respect you," he said, replying under his breath.
"What was that?" Yumiko hadn't heard him.
"We don't know each other well, so I don't feel comfortable calling you by your first name," he said while blushing with a small smile.
"Oh, is that all? Then we should hang out sometime," she said in a cute low tone voice, loud enough for him to hear but no one else.
"Y...yeah," he replied.
He was flushed as he looked everywhere but at her and twiddled around with his fingers nervously. A loud laugh interrupts them.
"Hey, Yumiko! Haha, do you want t- to hear a joke?" asked the class clown, as he was struggling not to start bursting into laughter again.
"I love your jokes but the bell is about to ring. After school?" Yumiko asked as she looked up at him, he was a few inches taller than her.
"Yeah… Yeah, after school" he said, a little disappointed as if he had been rejected and walked off.
Yumiko put her bag on her chair and placed two of her books and pencil case on the side of her table. She then sat in her seat, the one at the front of the class by the windows. She immediately turned around to talk to her best friend, Kenny.
Kenny Sánchez is a 2nd year, and isn't popular but is known because of Yumiko. He is a good-looking boy but because of his hair, looks average at first glance, he has messy black hair that covers most of his face, forest-green eyes and light brown skin.
He wore a white long-sleeve school shirt with a black collar and an untied red tie, black school pants, brown shoes, and a purple jacket with black stripes around his waist. Kenny has average grades in academics and sports. He gets 50s in everything, just enough to pass.
"You're as popular as ever," Kenny said as he lightly smiled, from her sitting to talk to him.
"Yeah," Yumiko said, low-toned.
"I mean, you're probably the most popular girl- no, person in school," he said excitedly, with sparkles in his eyes.
"I don't know about that," Yumiko said with a light laugh.
"It's true, though! You're Yumiko, pretty, smart, athletic and friendly," Kenny said happily singing her praises.
Yumiko is what society calls perfect, top of her class, athletic and kind to others, great in every and anything she does but she's also-
"Thanks, Kenny, you're so sweet but I think you're exaggerating," she said with a light blush as she patted his shoulder. Well, of course, I'm the most popular person, why wouldn't I be, I'm perfect.
"I'm tired..."
Yumiko looked down, her eyelids low as if she was about to fall asleep. She put her head on Kenny's desk, then turned it to look through the window.
"You were gaming all night again, weren't you," Kenny said, with a light shake of his head and a smile.
"Yeah," she said in a low tone, once again. Yumiko then lifted her head up, quickly.
The teacher then entered, "Ok, settle down everyone, I would like to start my class," he said.
He finished taking out his things to start class and then started writing on the whiteboard. After school, everyone was leaving the classroom and the teacher was no longer present.
"Bye, Yumiko," said a student as they left.
"Bye"
"Bye, Yumiko," said another student as they also left.
"Bye," Yumiko replied.
She had put her bag on her table and was packing her things up when the group of girls from earlier walked to her.
"Hey, Yumiko!" said the group.
"Hey guys, what's up?"
She stopped to turn to the group and leaned on the wall next to her seat with her hands together in front of her.
"We're going to have a karaoke party, then to a nearby bar. Some of the guys are coming too," said the group leader with a smile then looked to the lower left of her, "If that's what you're into"
"Oh, have fun! You can tell me about it tomorrow," replied Yumiko with a smile.
"You should come, it's going to be fun!" One of the other students suggested.
"Oh sorry, can't tonight, maybe next time?" Yumiko said then bowed.
"It's fine but why wait till tomorrow. What's your number? For some reason, I don't have it," the group leader said with a smile, putting her left hand on Yumiko's desk.
And why would I give the likes of you my number? "I can't give out my number, sorry," Yumiko said with an awkward smile after straightening up and looking to the side.
"Is it because of your grandparents? It's fine!" the girl replied, a little disappointed then backed up.
"Yeahhh, they're really strict," she said, still smiling. They're not, I just don't want insects to have my number.
"Ok, see you tomorrow, Yumiko!" The leader said waving while walking backward as she and the group left
"Yeah.." Yumiko replied as the group walked away.
Kuymeiko Yahkato, is ah-
"Yumiko, your notes, thanks again," said the student who borrowed Yumiko's notes as he held her book out.
"You're welcome," replied Yumiko with that warm smile again.
"Bye, Yumiko," he said before he left the class with his bag in hand.
Yumiko turned, then asked Kenny about the kid she gave her homework to as he packed up his books and put them on top of each other.
"Where's Teon," she asked.
"Think he felt already," said Kenny then turned to put his things in his bag.
"Oh"
That insect really left without coming to me? He didn't even give my book back, the least he could have done was be grateful that a person as amazing as me would give an insect, like him, their homework.
