"Who are you?"
Yumiko wondered where the lady came from, after straightening up, she stood properly.
"I am Sumay, you summoned me, master and I am your spirit maid here to serve. I can be whatever you want me to be"
"Sumay... Please, the pleasure is all mine," Yumiko said with that warm smile of hers.
"What do I do now?.. Well if we're following RPGs and every basic isekai story ever. There should be a village, city, or kingdom nearby," deep in thought, she said under her breath with her hand on her chin.
"There's a village a little way past this hill," Sumay said as she walked to the edge of the hill, where Yumiko was.
"!..How did you see that?" Yumiko said looking carefully over the forest, she saw a few buildings top in the distance.
"I have much better senses than the average human. I'm not one, master" Sumay said as she turned to Yumiko.
… Not human. Am I still human? Yumiko thought
"Sell we go, master?" She said after turning in the direction of the village.
"Oh! Yeah…" She said, coming out of a trance.
Yumiko started to understand her solution, and she finally started to think about what was happening. She was Isekaied and now is an immortal summer in a world with magic, sorcery, mythical creatures and so much more.
They started walking down the hill with Yumiko leading and Sumay following suit.
This is my life now… And I'm going to rule it as I did in my last one. It's going to take some time but with my beauty and charm, I'll more than survive... I'll thrive, this is my GameLife, Yumiko thought, determined to conquer this world.
They made it down the hill to the forest that was below. The forest didn't look that big from the hill but when you're in it, you realise how big it actually is. It isn't dense but there are a lot of different things in this forest, not just trees, and there's a little light.
Bushes of herbs were everywhere and a lot of flowers that Yumiko had never seen before but she didn't notice them. She was, eh…busy, with some new friends?
Sometime earlier, before they were off the hill.
"Sumay, how does this work?" Yumiko asked while walking backward facing Sumay with her hands behind her head.
"What do you speak of, master?" Sumay asked with a blank face and her hands together.
"Summoning, how does it work in this world," she replied then turned around.
"This world, master? Are you a world different from this, like me"
I properly shouldn't tell people that, I would sound crazy…right? But this is Sumay, she's my summon. So it should be fine and Sumay is from another world too.
"Yeah. I'm from Japan" she said then paused for a moment, Sumay was now beside her.
"Japan? I haven't heard it before, master" Sumay said, looking to her right at Yumiko.
"Thought so… Where are you from? You kinda just appeared" Yumiko then put her hands down.
"Nexus, the world of spirits, master. It's where most of your summons will come from"
Wait, how do I understand her? Is this what the Game God wrote about?
"That leads me back to my previous question," she said then turned to Sumay.
"Yes, maste-" Sumay said before also stopping.
"Ah!-"
Yumiko screamed as Sumay pushed her out of the way from an 8-foot, big brown ogre that had tried to hit her but Sumay got hit instead. Sumay flew into a tree, at this point, they were down the hill and at the entrance of the forest.
Sumay blocked her face with her hands and she banned her knees as she was hit, the tree broke a little and she fell but seemed fine, she slowly put her hands down and got up.
"Master, my sword" she yelled looking at Yumiko, who was on the ground from Sumay pushing her, a little away from her.
The ogre slowly started to walk toward Sumay. Yumiko was confused and wondering what she was yelling about.
"Summon my sword, Divine maiden," she said with her hand out to Yumiko
"Summon Divine maiden!"
A big sword with a white handle as its base, gold around it and a ruby gem in the centre, appeared in Sumay's hand.
The ogre charged at Sumay. She moved the sword to both hands and used it to cut the ogre's hands, then legs, then finally its hand in one fell swoop, she looked like an elegant ballerina dancer. Blood went everywhere, its blood wasn't red like a human's, it was dark blue.
She was so fast that you could barely see what had happened and to finish she got on top of it and stabbed the centre of its stomach, all with a blank expression.
"Whoa…" She's a badass! And for someone as amazing as me to say that you know it's true, I love game charters like this!
"Why, stab it again, it's already dead," Yumiko asked.
"To get its gem, master" Sumay cut its belly open, reached in and grabbed something, a brown crystal, "One can sell monster parts at the market for a profit and the gem to make weapons or armour," she said.
She put the gem into a small brown bag she was carrying with her as she walked to help her master up.
"Are you alright, master?" Sumay asked as she reached her hand out.
"Yeah, thanks"
Yumiko took Sumay's hand and she picked her up. They then started walking deeper into the forest.
This part is also like a game, so the stronger the enemy, the better the weapons. I wonder-
"Master. I sense danger, there are many creatures in this forest" Sumay said, then stopped, with her hand out, blocking Yumiko, who was walking behind her.
Yumiko and Sumay wander through the forest, with Sumay leading this time. Many more monsters attack them but Sumay is a combat maid and a powerful one at that. A pack of 7 mid-tier wolves with grey fur noticed them.
*Growling* The wolves surrounded Sumay, they slowly approached her and then one at a time, they jumped up and attacked with their sharp claws and teeth. Sumay swung at them as they came one by one, up the middle of their bodies from their tail cutting their belly to their head along with their gem.
"Such mid-level monster gems are of no use to master," Sumay said after she finished the wolves off.
She looked at Yumiko who was leaning on a nearby tree, thinking.
Is this like an old-time fantasy or a technological era? Probably fantasy. This seems to be based on a fantasy RPG or the average fantasy light novel. Do I have to say summon? Or can I do it in my mind… Summon Scarlett twin blades..! Yumiko thought, then a pair of scarlet-coloured daggers appeared in Yumiko's hand. It does work, so now to find out my next question. Do I know how to use this-
"Master, I'm done," Sumay said after walking to Yumiko.
"Hmm," she said, then they continued walking.
I may have been great at everything I did on earth and I'm a great swordsman in-game but I don't know about real life… Do I have sword skills? Archive, Yumiko thought.
Her archive came up soon after. I have instant translation as a skill, so that's why I can understand her but not any sword skills… What's ELA? She thought then, was answered as something popped up on Archive.
ELA: Enhanced Learning Ability
This God-given skill allows its user to, depending on the difficulty level, either instantly lean or lean something, whether it's skill or spell, 5x faster than normal
Cool! This is like what I had back in my past life but not a skill, I'm just naturally amazing. This should help me learn to use these blades.
Meanwhile, Sumay was fighting more different monsters, protecting her. Sometime later.
They encountered a huge and long snake with red scales and light brown skin that once up straight would be 3x Yumiko's size, called a king shepherd snake. It's considered to be a very powerful venomous monster snake.
It was sleeping when they came across it, their presence woke it up from its slumber. Sumay raised her sword to the snake, blocking Yumiko.
"Just a second, master, I'll handle this"
"No, I want to try something," Yumiko said as she walked in front of Sumay.
Sumay wondered what her master was trying to do.
It's a game, Yumiko, think of it as a game. Activate god-given skill ELA, Yumiko thought to herself, then her body's outline started to glow a light blue.
The snake slithered to Yumiko and attacked, trying to bite her. She jumped, to avoid getting hit, with a spin and landed on the branch of a tree that was nearby. Sumay had also moved out of the snake's attack by jumping back.
Whoa… Cool! Yumiko thought excitedly, not remembering the snake. It turned around to hit the tree she was on. She fell behind the snake, Ow!..oh, yeah, Yumiko got up and returned to her senses then attacked.
She cut part of the snake's upper tail and jumped on its head, it started to wildly wiggle. She slid down its back cutting down from behind. The snake died and some of its blood got on Yumiko and her blades.
