In front of a grand gate, a gleam of light appeared and, after a moment, vanished, replaced by a young man with black hair streaked with red and purple lines. This person was, of course, Rael. He was wearing a set of ordinary clothes, as the academy would provide him with the necessary uniform, so he did not need to bother bringing expensive clothes.
Standing before the academy's entrance, Rael felt a bit nervous. It was his first time studying with other people in both his current and past life. He approached the gate slowly, noticing that the academy was built in the middle of a monster-filled forest, He saw some moving shaded and guessed that they were guards. The Academy was constructed in this location to provide students with combat experience and resources.
As Rael got closer, he noticed two guards in front of the gate. He approached them and said, "Hello, I am a new student at the academy. Can I enter?"
Upon hearing his words, one of the guards pointed to a side door marked with the words "Registration Hall." Rael thanked the guard and headed toward the door. Inside, he found a simple hall with a row of chairs and a table behind which sat a woman dressed as an employee, sitting in front of what looked like a virtual screen. There was another door that he guessed led to the academy.
When the door opened, the employee turned her head towards him. Upon seeing him, she smiled and said, "Welcome to the Registration Hall. Is this your first visit to the Night Shield Academy?"
"Yes, it's my first time here. The guard outside told me to enter from here," Rael replied.
"Alright, please give me your name and the name of the person who sent you to the academy so I can look you up in the database," the employee said.
"My name is Rael, and I was sent here by Princess Lina Nightshade," he replied.
The employee's eyes widened a bit in surprise, then quickly regained her formal composure as she turned to the screen. After a few seconds, she said, "Your presence has been confirmed in the database. Your ring is ready. You can enter the academy through this door."
Rael put on the ring the employee handed him. Elliot had already informed him that it was a special ring made by the academy for the students. To activate it, he just needed to put a drop of his blood on it. Once worn, the ring would provide him with a map of the academy, its rules, and his class schedule. Additionally, it had a storage space of two square meters where his academic uniform was stored.
The ring also served as an alert system for the academy in case the wearer sustained serious injuries. All students needed to wear it.
Rael nodded lightly to the employee and headed toward the door leading to the academy. Upon opening it, he saw the sight of various halls lined together. There were classrooms for lectures, rooms for physical and elemental training, a marketplace for students, a restaurant, a dormitory and an exchange hall . Additionally, there was a combat tower and a mission hall where students could earn academy points.
Academy points were the only currency used within the academy. They could be used for almost anything, from ordering better food at the restaurant to requesting personalized lessons from the professors or booking better training rooms and purchasing resources and techniques not available in the markets. Academy points could also be obtained by attending classes and performing well in exams.
Rael decided to take a tour around before heading to his room, as the classes would begin in an hour and a half.
---
After an hour, Rael was in front of the mirror, adjusting his appearance. He had already explored the academy and had now put on his special uniform. After making some adjustments, he left his room and headed to the hall where the first lesson would take place.
The first lesson was a general introduction to elemental energy. Tomorrow, they would have their first practical lesson in mana cultivation, with the assistance of another professor.
On his way to the hall, Rael noticed that he hadn't met many students. After thinking about it, he realized it was reasonable since the competition in the academy was intense. Others didn't have the luxury of roaming around; they were either cultivating or on missions, leaving no extra time to spare. Moreover, the number of students was low due to the academy's high standards, with not more than a thousand students in all classes.
When he arrived at the hall, he saw that quite a few students had already arrived even though there were still more than ten minutes left until the lesson began. This didn't surprise Rael, as he knew that being late on the first day would leave a bad impression on both professors and fellow students.
The hall filled up with students quickly, and when the time came, Rael followed the others inside. There were four classes for the first-year students, each class containing 50 students.
A few minutes later the professor's door opened and the student's door closed.
The professor was a middle-aged man wearing a magician's cloak and a formal suit, with glasses on his nose. He had blond hair and a friendly smile on his face.
He stood in front of the students and said, "Hello, students. This is your first lesson at the Night Shield Academy. My name is Paul Anderson I will be your elemental energy theories professor .Our first class is a general introduction to elemental energy."
The professor went on to explain the concept of elemental energy, the magical particles present in the air and everywhere around us.
He mentioned that elemental energy also know as spiritual energy is the name of the magical energy in the air, and that includes all the elements.
existed in various elements, such as air, water, fire, wood, and more. The universe was full of elemental particles, and everyone could tap into them to use magic. However, controlling some elements was harder than the others.
Fate for example have never been controlled by any magus. The same goes for time.
But space have been controlled by a few people and one of them created the ring of the academy.
Also some places have higher concentration of some elemental particles than the others . like a volcano for example will have a higher fire particles density . and the water will be the least density of particles
The professor also explained how to use one's spiritual root as a medium to spread their will in the surrounding environment, attracting elemental particles of corresponding elemental affinity.
The lecture continued for over an hour, and Rael learned many things he hadn't known before about spiritual energy.
After the first class ended, Rael
Attended 3 other classes about the history of the vampire the history of the continent and the other 5 races which all lasted for a total of 6 hours. The races class was at the evening after they eat the lunch at the restaurant. After finishing his class Rael decided to return to his room and do some simple physical exercises to keep his mental state at its peak. Because tomorrow, his journey as a magus would begin .
