Three days later
Tian Qi knew that the wedding was being held that day but he was pacing in his room, debating if he should go stop her or not but by the time he got there, the wedding ceremony was over. Everyone was already eating and drinking, filled with laughter.
"True god!" her father called out to him and he stopped in his track, the king and Tian Qi share a cup of wine before he look around and couldn't find Er'Xi
"Where is Er'Xi?" Tian Qi asked her father
"Ah, Er'Xi should be heading to the bridal chamber righter now." her father said to Tian Qi whose heart dropped to the bottom of his feet but he nodded.
"Where is the bridal chamber?" Tian Qi asked with a little urgency hidden in his voice, scared that her father wouldn't tell him where Er'Xi is but her father answered him
"In the west court of her palace." her father said to Tian Qi but before her father could say any more Tian Qi was gone
Tian Qi arrived at the gate, he could see that Er'xi was walking with 10 maids behind her and they had just entered the west court not too long ago.
Er'Xi was dressed in a beautiful red dress with a golden crown in her head and flowers decorating her hair. Er'Xi was making her way to the bridal chamber, Tian Qi knew that he was late since the wedding ritual was already over but he refuse to leave without even talking to her. He has never been this impulsive before but today, he was going to let loose and act as he wanted.
Tian Qi appeared a few feet in front of Er'xi, the moment that she set eyes on him she backed away from him but the moment that Er'Xi stepped back from him, he stepped forward. She kept backing up but he walked faster and pulled her into his arm, holding onto her tightly almost not leaving her any room to breathe.
"I know I was late but please! Please don't get married! I love you, I love you with all my being. I don't mind that you went through the wedding ceremony as long as you want to go through it again with me, I will marry you right this second!" Tian Qi said to her, Er'Xi was so shocked that she was still. But Tian Qi refused to loosen up his grip as if doing so, Er'Xi might run away from him the moment that he give her enough room
The maids were shocked to see him appear out of nowhere but they were even more shocked to hear his confession to their princess who was just on her way to help Su Ming in the bridal chamber.
"...um...I think you misunderstood something here." Er'xi said to him but Tian Qi look at the maids as if they were going to take Er'Xi away from him
"Don't move, all of you!" Tian Qi warn them and immediately put up a shield, the famous shield of the true god Tian Qi was unbreakable and Er'Xi has always wanted to see it but now that she was in the middle of the so-called magical shield, she only wanted out.
"...True god." Er'Xi said
"Tian Qi." Tian Qi said
"Tru-" Er'Xi was about to continue but he cut her off
"Tian Qi!" Tian Qi insisted but Er'Xi sighs, he was being very childish
" I think that you misunderstood. Please let go of me." Er'xi said to him but he showed no sign of losing his grip
"Why don't you call me Tian Qi like before?" Tian Qi asked her and he felt Er'Xi tremble in his arms
"...I dare not address you as such, I know my place." Er'xi said to him and she could hear Tian Qi sniffing. All of the maids dropped their things onto the ground and when she looked up the face that she saw left her speechless
"...you....you don't.....love me...any-anymore?" Tian Qi was crying and clenching onto her tighter than before
"I'M SORRY! PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME." Tian Qi said to her and Er'Xi hugged him tight as well, patting his back but it only made him cry even more. Tian Qi has never felt scared before in his life but now he was scared that Er'Xi would no longer smile at him but he was even more scared that at night she would hold someone else that was not him.
He was scared to lose her due to his stupidity for not taking the chance when he had it, he was scared that she would only look at Su Ming, scared that the starry eyes that used to look at him would be directed at someone else after today. He wanted to so badly to just take her away, he knew that even if he did so, no one can stop him since he was a true god yet he didn't because he didn't want to be hated by her.
In the middle of the conflict Tian Qi was feeling the person that he never wants to hand Er'Xi over to come out from the bridal chamber
"What's going on here?" Su Ming asked them
"Oh, A'Su." Er'xi said turning her head towards Su Ming and the grip of Tian Qi tighten around her
"Great-great timing." Er'xi said and Tian Qi glared at Su Ming who was also dressed in red as well, Tian Qi used magic to change the color of Su Ming's clothing
"Ah! Why did you change his robe color?!" Er'xi asked but Su Ming laughed as he look at Tian Qi
"Is this all you can do? So childish." Su Ming said to him and Tian Qi glared at him without letting go of her, Tian Qi asked Er'Xi
"I-if I kill him...what would you do?" Tian Qi asked Er'xi but she was confused, why would he kill Su Ming
"Why?" Er'xi asked him
"Just answer me." Tian Qi said to her and she close her eyes as she took in a deep breath
"If you so much as harm Su Ming, I will never talk to you ever again. I will also never meet with you or show myself to you ever again." Er'Xi said to him and Tian Qi slowly let go of her with shaky breath and hands, she looked at his tear-stained face
"But I don't want to be hated by you." Tian Qi said in a shaky crying whisper.
Tian Qi acting like a child was making the group worried but as Er'Xi noticed that her best friend was trying his best to hold onto his laughter, she knew that Su Ming knew about this from the beginning. Er'xi was about to walk over to Su Ming but she was held onto by Tian Qi.
"Don't go. If you walk over to his side...I'll really kill him, I really will." Tian Qi said to her, his voice was full of menace but his face was still sobbing in tears. Er'xi sighs, she was tired from the whole day since she was helping with the wedding procedure.
"Fine." Er'Xi said as she looked at Su Ming but her eyes were covered
"You can talk to him but don't look at him." Tian Qi said to her, Er'Xi sighs finally at her last straw
"Let go. LET.GO.RIGHT.NOW!" Er'xi said as she hit him with her hands, she stood at the edge of the shield as she huff and puff
"I have had it! I've had a very long day so who is going to explain to me what happened?" Er'xi asked Su Ming and Tian Qi
"He probably thinks that today was your wedding day." Su Ming said and Er'xi turned to look at Tian Qi a little dumbfounded, a true god was misled by mere rumors of the spirit realm
"It's not my wedding." Er'xi said to him and Tian Qi's tears stopped all of a sudden and he looked at Er'Xi as if his sense finally had returned to him
"I-it's not?" he asked her and Er'Xi nodded as she massaged her head
"This is Su Ming's and my brother's wedding." Er'xi said to him and Tian Qi glared at Su Ming
"I've never said my wedding was with Er'xi, I only asked you to attend my wedding." Su Ming said quickly to defend himself in front of the true god
"Since this mess has been cleared up, please let me out of this shield." Er'xi said to Tian Qi, he stared at her for a minute before he finally let the shield fade away
"Well then, please be on your way." Er'xi said but Tian Qi took hold of her again
"Then marry me." Tian Qi said to her and Er'Xi looked at him, she couldn't believe that this man was once her strict teacher
"Didn't you turn me down?" Er'xi asked him but he looked at her in confusion
"I've never said that." Tian Qi said this time it was his turn to defend himself
"But you told me to remember that you're a true god." Er'xi said to him
"Because I am older than you." he said to her and she stared at him gaping like a fish out of water
"THAT'S IT?!" she asked him and he nodded
"I'm probably 10 times older than your father and five times older than your grandfather." he said to her and Er'xi sighs.
"We can talk about this later." Er'xi said but Tian Qi refused
"What if you change your mind? I've already proposed to you which answered your question, So you and I are official. So why can't we talk about it now?" he said to her and she sighs, she had once thought that it would be fun to see him act more childish but now that he is, it was annoying; now she somewhat understands how people must feel towards her.
"I am helping the bride get ready for the night." Er'xi said to Tian Qi
"Why can't we talk about it now?" Tian Qi insisted to her once again as if he didn't understand what she had just said to him
"Please! Can't we clear this tomorrow?!" she asked him and he seemed to shrink back
"...fine. I'll wait in your palace." Tian Qi said
"I said tomorrow-" Er'xi said but Tian Qi was already gone, Er'Xi turned around and glared at Su Ming
"Ladies, get him inside." Er'xi said to the maids and they all head into the bridal chamber
As the maids were bathing Su Ming and getting him all dressed up, Er'xi was drinking tea and complaining to her friend at the same time
"What would you have done if he went on a rampage?! He's a true god, none of us would be able to stop him!" Er'xi said and the maid's voice in
"Hey! You can't be mad at me, I saw that he needed a push. I just gave him that push to make him confess." Su Ming said and the maid also chime in as well, taking Su Ming's side
"Now I have a ticking bomb waiting for me!" Er'xi said and Su Ming laughed
"I'm doing so well as the first in-law of your family aren't I?" Su Ming asked her as he walk out from behind the screen and walked towards her, Er'xi rolled her eyes at him
"Real good job." Er'xi said sarcastically and a knock came at the door
"Come in." Er'Xi said it was a maid from her brother's palace
"His Highness wanted me to ask about how the preparation is coming along." the maid asked her, Er'Xi rolled her eyes and head
"Please tell my brother to worry less about his wife and more about his sister." Er'xi said, the maid bow with a smile as she closes the door and headed back to report to her brother.
"Also, the true god asked to have a meeting with the king and queen not too long ago in private and they asked that you meet them in the throne room once you're done here." the maid said to her from behind the door and Er'xi glared at Su Ming
"Hey, look at this in a positive view. You're going to marry the man you love." Su Ming said to her and Er'Xi sighs
"Are we done here? If we are, I'll get going." Er'xi said
"You're in a rush to go see the true god?" Su Ming asked her and Er'Xi laughed
"I'm going to bed." Er'xi said as she stepped out from the bridal room and started to make her way back to her palace but she noticed Tian Qi was standing at the gate to get to her palace. Er'Xi use magic and arrived at her in her palace
"Peace at last." Er'Xi said to herself as she headed into her room and went to sleep, not knowing that Tian Qi was still standing guard; waiting for her to come so they can go meet her parents.
