THE FIFTH ELEMENT ππ₯πͺοΈβ°οΈβ―οΈ
Chapter 16πππ

I got lost for some time before I finally found the library.
Not without the help of people I saw along the way though..they all seemed glad to talk to me.
I finally got to a huge door that had the word 'Library' boldly written on the top of it and i pushed it open.
I saw an old woman with grey hair at the reception.
She simply nodded at me and I gave her a small smile in return before moving forward.
I carefully inspected the books that was neatly arranged on the shelves. I wasn't seeing what I wanted.
I only saw books about, how to master elements, And separate books for each Elements there is
Except mine.
I peeked through the opening between the books on the shelf to the other side of the shelf and saw someone else there. A boy.
I brought my eyes closer to the opening to take a closer look at who it was.
Oh. It was the dark haired water boy. Damon I think.
He almost caught my eyes peeking through the opening and I quickly moved away from the spot hoping he didn't see me.
I waited for some minutes before checking back through the opening to see if he was still there.
He wasn't.
I sighed softly and turned to leave where I was standing but was caught by surprise which made me flinch back a bit.
Damon was standing right in front of me.
"Leaving already?" he said to me.
I was too stunned to speak.
Being upclose to him like this made me realize he was really beautiful, I mean handsome. His eyes were so bright. Just like mine.
"Are you mute?" he asked me and tilted his head to take a good look at me.
"No." I muffled out.
"Good. Like I asked you, leaving already? I thought you were enjoying staring at me." he said to me and smirked.
Oh no he caught me.
"I wasn't staring at you." I lied to him.
"So what were you doing then?" he asked me.
"Huh?" I replied. I didn't know what to say to him.
"What were you staring at? If it wasn't me." he asked me slowly coming closer to me.
"The books!" I blurted out.
He scrunched his eyebrows together.
"Huh?" he asked me.
"I was staring at the books. They looked really good and old. Like something straight out from a fairytale. You just happened to be standing there as well. " I said to him.
"I see. So what's the name?" he asked me with a serious face.
"What?" i asked him.
"What is your name?" he asked me.
"It's um Cassie." I said to him and nodded.
"So Cassie.... there's a rumor around school that a new girl with the fifth element is on board, and you're a new face so I have to ask, is that by any chance you?" he asked me.
"I... think so." I said and shrugged my shoulders unsure what to do or say.
"Well then, I guess it's an honor to meet you, Cassie." he said and gently took my hand to kiss.
I was shocked by his action.
"Thanks." I said to him and snatched my hand away from his lips.
He smirked at me.
"So, what book are you looking for?" he asked me.
"I don't know. Anything related to the history of this place, this school. These powers. Anything." I said to him and he nodded.
"Then you're looking at the wrong place. Follow me." he said and winked at me before walking away.
I contemplated for some seconds if I should follow him or not then I decided to follow him.
We went to meet the old lady at the counter.
When we got there, he whispered something to her and she nodded and brought something that looked like a key out from her drawer and gave it to him.
"Come on." he said to me and I followed him like a good girl.
"Where are we going?" I asked him.
"To show you the books you wanted. Let's just say, not everyone here has assess to those kind of books. Only special students have the assess to it. Like myself." he said and wiggled his eyebrows.
I chuckled.
He doesn't seem like any danger at all unlike what Stacy and Madeline said to me about him.
He unlocked a door with the keys he was with and opened the door for me to enter.
"Ladies first." he said to me.
I looked at him before entering the room.
He closed the door behind him after he came in.
"So hopefully you'll find whatever it is you're searching for here." he said with his arms wide open.
"Okay. Thanks." I said to him and he nodded at me.
I looked around the room, not sure where to start.
I picked up the first book that I got my hands on.
I inspected the book, it was the history of the fire clan.
I immediately thought of Jake. This is his history.
I read a few pages of the book and dropped it to pick up another.
This was about the water tribe. I looked over to Damon and he was sitting on a chair with his leg crossed on the table. He was busy reading something at the corner. I couldn't see his face because the book he was with was covering his face.
I read some pages from it and dropped it as well.
I picked another one and it was about the earth tribe. I skipped through it and dropped it.
I picked up another and this was about the air clan. I skipped through it but was drawn to something that was written on one of the pages.
The coming of the fifth element.
This was about how the air clan communed with the higher beings that bestowed these gifts upon them and these beings revealed to them that there will be another element. The fifth. The most powerful of all elements ever known.
And this fifth element would save their world from the dark powers that threatens them.
I got to the end of the page and wasn't satisfied.
I checked the book again for more info on the fifth element but nothing else was written.
No there has to be more.
I dropped the book and picked up another book. I read through it but nothing about the fifth element was written on it.
I did the same thing for almost 6 other books but I got nothing else.
"Damn it!" I said in aspiration and threw the books surrounding me away.
"Whao you okay there? Do you need some help?" Damon said to me while coming over to where I was sitting.
"I'm fine. I don't need help." I said to him.
"You sure about that?" he asked me.
I sighed heavily.
"Yeah. I'm sure." I said to him.
"You know, I would love for us to spend the whole day here together but you sure you don't want to go back to your dorm? It's getting kinda late." he said to me.
"No. I have to find more information. I can't just leave now." I said to him and stood up from my seat to continue skimming through books.
He simply kept quiet and let me continue.

After some more hours, I finally gave up. There was nothing else here about my powers. Or maybe I haven't found it yet.
"So, you still want to keep going or.... We should call it a day and come back here tomorrow and pick up where we left off." Damon said to me.
"Okay Fine. I give up. For now." I said and sat on the floor.
Searching for something you're not even sure it's there can be really draining.
"Come on, I'll escort you to your dorm." he said to me and brought out his hand for me to take.
"Okay. Thanks." I said and stood up without taking his hand.
He nodded and smiled to himself.
"Can we go now?" I asked him and he nodded.
"Ofcourse. Whatever you wish." he said to me and I looked at him.
I wondered if my powers ever acted out on it's own without my knowing.
I opened the door and waited for him to come out.

On our way out of the library, Damon gave the key back to the old lady at the counter.
When we got out, everywhere had already gotten dark.
"Oh geez it's dark now. I'm so sorry I held you out till now. " I said to him.
"You didn't hold me out. I actually had fun today. It's nice staying with someone that doesn't know how messed up you are. So thank you." he said to me.
I was about to say something when someone caught me off.
"Damon! Where the hell have you been? I've been looking all over the place for you." Sage said to Damon angrily.
This isn't good.
"Would you stop pouting baby sis? And Why were you even looking for me? I've paid you off what I was owing you the last time, so what is it this time? " Damon said to her.
Oh. I remember now. Sage and Damon are siblings. No wonder they looked so much alike.
"It's your mother. Did you suddenly forget you were supposed to have a meeting with her today?" sage said to him angrily.
"Oh." Damon said sounding like he just remembered something.
"Exactly! And guess who she had to take it out on....Me!" sage yelled at him.
"Ops my bad." Damon said sounding amused.
"You think this is funny? And what were you even doing all this time huh?" Sage said and finally looking over to me.
Oh no.
"You." she said to me.
I smiled awkwardly. "Hi". I said to her and waved my hand at her.
"What the hell are you doing with her? Wait, don't tell me you were with her the whole time I was looking you. " Sage said to Damon.
"Okay. I won't tell you." Damon said to her and folded his lips.
"You jerk! You were with a girl while I was at the receiving end of the consequences of your actions." Sage said to him angrily.
Damon was quiet but he was amused.
"I'm sorry. It was my fault. I asked him to help me with something. So I'm the reason why he missed anything it is that he missed. I'm so sorry." I said to her.
She looked at me and scoffed.
"Damon you owe me again for this. And you, if I were you, I'd stay away from him. He might look innocent, but he isn't. " Sage said to me and left me and Damon standing there.
"Don't let her scare you. Beneath all that, she's the sweetest." Damon said to me and I smiled.

Damon walked me to my dorm and said goodbye to me.
Immediately I got inside the room, I saw Madeline and Stacy there. They were standing close to the door looking at me.
"Start. talking....." Stacy said sounding both excitedly and worried.
