Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Pirates!? Here!?

The smells of earth was in the air. The Riverside was pristine, with many ships of many colors resting at the bank, anchored down without catching a risk of drifting off course. The fishermen contained their captures within barrels, allowing the exchange of gold to let the salesmen set up shop for the market. The sails flowed beautifully, and the metal that was the cannons shined brightly from atop the yellow, smiling sun. When the shipment was being way, this would be the opening the two children would take, sneaking around the docks to avoid being caught by the adults, using boxes and barrels as cover, while also covering their noses to prevent them from smelling the raw fish. Stolas would make a gesture to note the smell, having Harvard silently chuckle a bit, before the two made their way to an empty barrel. "So how exactly are we supposed to find the wood for the leg?" Stolas would ask.

"Ah, but that's one of the MANY rules of being a Hero, my feathered friend! You gotta analyze every detail you can see." Harvard would reply, having him cast the same skull-like spell to act as surveillance, while also keeping an eye out on his side of the pier.

"Being a Hero? Really?" Stolas raised an eyebrow at Harvard's statement.

"Yah-huh! It's like what you see in being a 'Man'! Someone who is prepared and has the skills necessary to do the right thing! You ain't the only one who has a big lesson taken to heart." A Smirk was made on Harvard's face, being proud of such a statement, with Stolas rolling his eyes and helping out anyway.

"Alright, Alright. I get it. I ge- Hey look!" His words were halted as he caught a glimpse of the target. A supposed group of people that were making their way across the docks, with 3 of them talking with the fishermen, 2 to each other, and 2 managing the ships, untying the ropes and being ready. Harvard would notice it and look at the people's feet, pulling up the broken wood as evidence. Not only was it the same color as the wood that makes up the pier, but it also seems to come from a specific individual as well: A man nearing around 7 feet tall with a wide, muscular build, almost as if he was a giant. The "peg-leg", upon further inspection from his feet, was actually a piece of a toe, due to it being instead a prosthetic, with some bits of the wood's pinkie toe being halved. "You were right! It DID came from someone! How did it got cut off though? Isn't wood like....sturdy?"

"Well that depends, does your place have security?"

"No! Only my Dad and his friends watch over the place!"

"Well that might be the answer! Either your Dad or your dad's friend found out about the robbery, tried to stop, and only got the prosthetic slightly damaged before they escaped. From there, they simply reported the crime as a quest for everyone to see and figure out who did it!" Harvard whispered this information, due to them hearing footsteps of the group getting close.

"So basically, they wanted someone else to do the job instead..."

Harvard would nod towards Stolas' answer, before overhearing the voices from the people. "Aye! Exactly how much is this being shipped out?" A Gruff voice stated, sounding as if his voice was clogged, yet still was capable of making sounds.

"Says around 5,000 of 'em goin' to that walkin' city known as Khepros. S'pose thats our next destination, captain." Another voice was heard, this one being more feminine, yet still just as powerful.

"Perfect! We set sail at dawn. With the riverbank here, we can make it at around a few hours max before settling into her mighty waves. Hear it first, boys and Girls! We'll be gettin' rich by dawn! Richer than our wildest dreams, The blessings of the Lord being our one-way trip to royalty!" The Gruff voice was booming proudly, being followed by cheers of varying sounds. Harvard would try to carve a hole within the barrel to see, being unfortunately guarded by a flintlock being holstered upon one's side, their waist showcasing the many weapons around them.

"Woah...They ARE pirates....I actually didn't expect that to be possible.." The Card Magician whispered, trying to get a better view and see the gear said pirates had: Bandana's and baggy clothing, with the man using a prosthetic wearing a large coat, and a woman wearing tight pants and a blank, white shirt to accompany it. Harvard would be ogling at their designs in pure awe, before having Stolas shake the boy a bit.

"Hey! No time to live out your stories! We gotta make sure to prevent them from leaving the shores now!" Stolas murmured, taking Harvard's spot in inspecting the area. The boy quickly regained himself and nodded, before posing a question.

"How exactly are we gonna do that, though?"

The both of them would be deep in thought, hearing the discussions made between the pirates, before hearing their steps soften as they leave the perimeter, entering their vessels. The Duo thinks long and hard at what exactly they can do, before quickly, an idea sprang about. The two look at each other, seeing their expressions realize they were coming up with the same solution. They both smiled smugly and nodded their heads, almost as if a beat was made upon their minds to match their tempo, their own hands clasped in unison together, rubbing them nefariously, as they got to work.

They'd get out of their hiding spot, quickly making their way towards the boat's sides. Harvard would line the location with a spell of explosives, while Stolas did the same with his cluster of stars. The two would interchange spots once they covered their side, taking care of the opposite and applying a secondary layer to the trap. When both were finished, Harvard would cast a second spell to create his gun, Lemegeton, while Stolas uses a makeshift one with a white dwarf, small as a pellet, with his feathers that act as fingers to make it look like a gun. Both took their aim towards the coated area, a wicked smile made on their faces, reveling in what is going to happen.

"BANG!" Was their word, before firing it.
