Chapter 44 - Chapter 43: 6th Heaven

"Mordred, are you okay?" Dulio looked at him in concern because he suddenly froze.

"I'm fine... It's okay." Mordred furrowed his brows and harnessed the void through his body. His arm went pitch black and everybody craned their necks towards him immediately.

"Y-your arm feels like it's not there. Completely nothing, no magic, no presence. Like space around it is just gone." Lavinia analyzed immediately and Mordred nodded.

"This is something new from my little friends inside of me." He furrowed his brows and cancelled it.

His arm went numb and Mordred could feel some damage on it. 'I see, the bottomless void saps some of my life force as payment. Even a dragon's mana can't power it up. Azi Dahaka has a multitude of forbidden spells.'

He couldn't even fathom how many spells the three headed dragon has. Azi Dahaka has thousands upon thousands of them. And the only limit he has is his own life force.

'I can't trust him too much. The middle head did not lie. He did respect my efforts, but using these forbidden spells leave me weakened even though I can recover.' Mordred checked his soul.

The two mana hearts that he has formed were quickly repairing the damage on his soul. And to others, it would be fine because it healed. But he knew better.

If he didn't finish people with Azi Dahaka's forbidden spells or with other means. Mordred will be a sitting duck after the fact. And battles of that caliber will leave him at his most vulnerable.

"That's void magic right? I've read it in archives. Azi Dahaka's forbidden magic that is one of his greatest creations. The void is basically infinite, and mastering it means you'll be similar to Ophis." Lavinia blinked in surprise.

"That's true, but it will most likely take time. A lot of it too. Because even the best user of this; Azi Dahaka didn't manage to do so." Mordred frowned.

It will be a big boon for him. He felt like the dragon is baiting him or something. Dangling such a juicy fruit in front of him.

With less training, it can even rival Apophis' primordial water. The void is that destructive. It's a mysterious force of nature in which nothing can survive. Even space and time.

And that's just one of his forbidden spells. There's tons more out there that he knows about. Like the power of destruction. Which is categorized as chaos magic. Able to incinerate anything in its way, even souls.

'I'll leave this to the back burner for now. But I do think I need to master this little boon. It basically has no downsides if my soul gets used to the void.' Mordred nodded thoughtfully.

Then he saw a blonde with red eyes tilt her head at him. "Ahhh! Mordred, can't I try to make your soul be more compatible with that magic? I felt it encroach in your soul." Valerie hit her palm with her fist.

"T-that works... You're a genius Valerie." Morded gave her a thumbs up and the vampire giggled shyly.

"Then can we also learn that?" Cleria looked curious as hell. Masaomi and her were the weakest among them due to the others being cheats.

Even Shirone and Kuroka can beat them up with their new skills. Instead of gathering natural energy and using it as their battery for senjutsu. They developed sage arts. Fortifying their body to the maximum by stabilizing it in themselves.

It had a time limit, but it was a sizeable boost that made the goons fall into the bottom once again.

And with Scathach training them, the two little cats were monsters in CQC. And they were the bane of magic types that don't have aoe like Lavinia and Dulio.

Worthlessness doesn't work on it too, Cleria couldn't understand nature yet. You either have to be a sage, or a youkai that is extremely compatible with natural energy. In which the two nekoshous were.

"I think you can. But Valerie has to start qualitatively changing your souls first. We are dragons, but you don't have mana hearts yet. I got them from the evil dragons so I got it easier." Mordred thought about it really well.

There is a reason that dragons are so sought after. Albion and Ddraig are fully conscious while their souls are imprisoned in their sacred gear. Vritra's consciousness wakes up if all of his remnants are combined.

A dragon's soul is extremely strong. It is tied to their will and strength. Even the weakest dragon king; Vritra is a statistical impossibility. His soul has been chopped up to pieces, but if you glue them together. He comes back like nothing.

The exact reason why the evil dragons needed to be sealed into a sacred gear, namely Mordred.

And while they were discussing things. Mordred who is the most sensitive to magic shot out a beam of void at a certain place.

"Everyone! Balance breakers!" Mordred shouted immediately as he felt a satan class magical signature that was hiding.

The ground exploded immediately and Vali began chanting. Mordred's new rule of beating the shit out of enemies or killing them then extracting information with Sephiroth Graal was the new norm.

And with her magical reserves as a Lucifer. She could now power up her juggernaut drive for a reasonable amount of time.

"Half dimension." Vali, in her new armor; compressed the space where Mordred shot an attack.

"Princess!" Lavinia boxed in the area with absolute demise. Incinerate Anthem's dragon balance breaker also prepared to fire a beam of holy flames.

Thousands upon thousands of bubbles also appeared. Dulio managing to control them to entrap combatants inside of them and let the filthy enemies get torn to shreds by world ending storms of the elements.

"Boostx20! Transfer!" Ise gifted Mordred with tons of power and Mordred felt his body almost explode due to the amount of power he contained.

"Burn like the garbage you are." Mordred was about to swing Caliburn with extreme prejudice, Meredith and the others ready to contain the explosion of mana.

"Wait! Wait! Don't kill me please!" An angel with twelve wings appeared. He had burns all over his body and his hair has been frozen over by Lavinia's Longinus.

"A filthy pigeon? So heaven is spying on us. Then we'll collect as much information from your soul." Mordred raised Caliburn and light that seemed to illuminate the world escaped from it.

"No! I came with a message from Michael! I come in peace! We owe you an apology!" The seraph immediately begged and Mordred raised a brow.

"Hmmm? I guess I can hear you out." Mordred thought of the benefits he could get from this. And he also remembered that his friends are in the Vatican.

He would start a shit show if he killed the Seraph. Mordred wasn't scared to start a war. Actually, it would solidify his plans because humans will seek sanctuary to them.

With Tiamat and Scathach at their side. And the Norse being their eternal allies. They can hole up in Asgard and make armies of humans.

Scathach, as a mortal can kill gods. Tiamat in her outrage surpasses the heavenly dragons by a wide margin.

Ise is an army's strongest buffer. Lavinia and Dulio can take on entire armies by themselves. Devils will die in droves if they try to break through their fortifications.

Not to mention that even just the holy light from Mordred's Caliburn can burn high class devils to ashes.

Apophis' shadows would also put the angels and fallen in a disadvantage. They were ready for a war, even their greatest weakness; dragonslayers are ineffective against them due to Mordred and Valerie. In an all out war, they would annihilate the other factions.

Tiamat can hold the line even with Sirzechs and Ajuka attacking. Adding Scathach to the mix which is more skillful than her in battles would be too much.

And that was years ago. Tiamat is already developing a special ability with her dragon heart. She was keeping it a secret, Tiamat is slowly catching up with Ddraig and Albion now.

A mother's love can bring forth amazing feats. And if she completes it. She'll be the third heavenly dragon.

"So?" Mordred raised a brow at him. Still at a hair trigger due to their experiences with Augusta.

"I... I would like to invite you and your group to heaven. You are our benefactor, believe it." Metatron was a nervous wreck.

'We had reports that he is strong... But aren't they getting too strong!?' Metatron was getting paranoid.

Mordred didn't like the church much. That was a well known fact with his altercation with Griselda Quarta.

"Hmph, so you dirty pigeons can get my sword? My heirloom? I do not forget, you filthy angels killed the fae that repaired Excalibur." Mordred glared daggers at him.

"No! No! Father actually sealed the evil dragons inside of you. Heaven and the world owes you a debt!" Metatron explained desperately.

Mordred and his kin already knew that. But hearing it from someone who were there at the event was a bit different.

"Fine, let me call someone first." Mordred made magic circles and he called people that he could trust.

Three people appeared and they looked around. "Are there enemies Mordred?" Tiamat growled and was ready for a scrap. Her mana exploding, making Metatron cower.

"An angel huh? So heaven is contacting you?" Scathach grinned and thought that calling them there is a good decision. He might be learning politics from her.

But sucking them dry of their resources is something that he might not be able to do.

"Mo-kun? Why is Metatron kneeling there? Did he attack you!? Should we declare war on heaven!? My magic wand will sprinkle them with my magical girl dust!" Serafall glared at Metatron and she thought that it would be a great way to settle the score with Gabriel.

Not that the female Seraph have any bad blood with her. Serafall just has a one sided rivalry with her. Because Gabriel is also one of the most famous women in the underworld.

After all, residents of the underworld desire to paint such a beautiful blank canvas with their colors.

"We will be going to heaven so we could have a talk with the seraphs." Mordred explained seriously and he brought some serious firepower to aid them.

'If these filthy pigeons have a plan against me. We'll rampage through heaven and destroy 3rd heaven.' Mordred messaged them.

They blinked at him. 3rd heaven contains the reincarnation cycle of the souls that heaven is responsible for.

If they rampage and destroy that place. Well, heaven will be no more and the whole world will be in chaos.

Mordred might be a hero, but he isn't an one dimensional idiot. He has a mission to do, and you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

He's pragmatic, in his mind; a hero isn't a goody two shoes that will let everyone trample on him just to do good. It's to make change that will benefit the majority.

Heroes like that only exist in stories. A hero that doesn't have the will to do that much is one blinded by his ideals and principles.

Not everyone can be saved. That's a fool's errand, Mordred knows how the world works.

"Transport us to heaven, angel." Tiamat eyed him like a predator. Metatron nodded quickly and he started using some hand signs, teleporting them to 6th heaven where the seraphs reside.

They were shown a realm in which there were clouds everywhere. And the roads seem to be paved with gold.

"How tasteless." Scathach clicked her tongue in displeasure at Yahweh's vanity. The place looked pure, but the leader surely wasn't.

He threw out his children because they were not perfect. A little mistake is all it takes, and the angels suddenly become outcasts that are looked upon even worse than lepers.

And they were what? Relegated to be humanity's assistants. "No wonder Lucifer rebelled." Mordred snorted and Metatron winced.

'Damn, he really doesn't like heaven... I hope this goes well.' Metatron led them to Zebel's conference room where all the remaining seraphs were.

Mordred's runes were glowing and the seraphs almost teared up at seeing them. They had the will of Yahweh after all. He imbued it with his desire to keep a tight leash on the dragons that will destroy the world if left to rampage.

Just like when he made the True Longinus. Mordred is something of a sacred relic for the angels.

He was more sacred than the True Longinus even. Mordred is Yahweh's first sacred gear that gave the world peace from the evil dragons.

"Mordred Pendragon, it is nice to meet you." Michael bowed and he smiled at him.

"Likewise, I have an idea on why you want me here. But let's skip the pleasantries." Mordred wasn't hostile. But he wasn't amiable as well.

In his mind, heaven has failed in their mission. They had a job to be humanity's light. But what they do isn't that different from the other supernatural factions.

"Enough flowery words Michael, let's start." Tiamat squinted her eyes at them.
