Noah showers her with kisses as they broke the hug
NOAH: You have no idea how happy this makes me
ALANA: Me too!, becoming a mother is something I've always wanted for a long time..you know I love kids(she says with a grin)
NOAH: Heh, I know...how far are you?
ALANA: three weeks,more or less
NOAH: oof, babe, we have to talk about this (He said taking her by the hand to the living room as they sit on the couch)
NOAH: So..don't you think we should take a break from work?
ALANA: Oh come in Noah, I'm pregnant,not sick
NOAH: Yeah but, you're in the early stages of pregnancy, so you'll be getting..you know, morning sicknesses,like nausea,mood swings and based on your kind of work,that's bad for business (he said with a worried look on his face)
ALANA: Hmm..you have a point there, I am already experiencing some of those symptoms, but I can't just stay home, we have bills to pay and plus all the hospital check ups
NOAH: I'll take care of that My love,you don't have to worry (he tells her reassuringly)... I'll ask Mr Raman for a raise, he'll definitely give it to me once I tell him you're pregnant ( he said excitedly)
'Alana stared at Nosh for a second with both brows raised in surprise,before bursting into laughter'
ALANA: I thought you were about to say you're gonna work extra hours but noooo,use my pregnancy for an emotional blackmail.
NOAH: Oh come on, when you put it like that, It sounds awful (he said with a light chuckle) and hey!, me working extra hours mean I won't be home much and I'm not gonna be an absent father or husband,not now or ever.
ALANA: aww, (She exclaims before pulling him in for a kiss) thanks so much..I guess Mr Raman will be the first to hear the good news.
NOAH: (smiles) Yeah, you should probably call your family too, I'm sure they'll be happy to hear it, despite everything that happened between you guys
ALANA: (sighs) Yah, I'll call them,but hey, do you think they'll show up when it's time for the baby to be born?
NOAH: Ofcourse they will, Infact, after telling them, I'm sure you'll be seeing them this week
ALANA: I hope so, but I mean, it's not like it's their first grandchild
NOAH: Honey,it may not be their first, but it's still their grandchild.
ALANA: I don't even know why I'm getting so emotional right now (she replies as she begins to tear up)...must. be the pregnancy
NOAH: Yeah probably (he said wiping away her tears), have you eaten?, what would you like to eat?, do you have any cravings maybe?
ALANA: well..I am in the mood for some cheesey chips
NOAH: okay, just chips?, I'll get it for you on my way back,but for now,you can just whip yourself something to eat okay?
ALANA: Yeah alright
"Ever since Alana chose to believe I was innocent,her family hasn't been on good terms with her and it got worst when we got married,sure they do call once in a while to check up on her, but they still firmly believe that's I'm guilty and Alana is just foolishly blinding by love...if only they could see how much she misses them.
I'm just hoping and praying that one day they'll realize that I've been telling them the truth, so they can finally give Alana all their love and support just like before...but until that day comes,I'm never gonna stop proving to Alana that she did the right thing by believing in me...I'm gonna make her proud." (Noah thinks to himself)
Noah and Alana make a short prayer before Noah heads off to work, he gets to the work building to find it closed, concerned,he heads over to Mr Raman's house. On his way going, he spots a man yelling at a little girl as he drags her by the hand..the girl silent,with a frown on her face...worried, Noah walks over to them
NOAH: Is there a problem here?
MAN: Uh no,it's just that this brat doesn't want to go home and he parents are looking everywhere for her,come on now Ariel! (he yelled but Ariel remained silent)
NOAH: Are you her dad?
MAN: No, just a... neighbor.
NOAH: Where are her parents?
MAN: What's with all the questions man,get lost!
As the man continues dragging Ariel's hand,Noah gets taken back to the harrowing memory of his last,where it's dark..Young Noah was taken by the hand of a man,then there are flashes of a tussle between the two, followed by memories of painful whimpers filling a room.
Noah snaps back to reality and instantly takes the man's hand off Ariel forcefully.
MAN: What the hell is wrong with you?
NOAH: If this girl really did know who you are, then why isn't she saying anything?
MAN: (Scoffs) excuse me!?,What are you insinuating??
NOAH: Come on Ariel,tell me, do you know this man? ( he asked turning to Ariel)
MAN: Get away from her you creep! (he yelled shoving Noah back)
NOAH: Nah ,I don't trust you one but, I'm calling the cops, for all I know you could be a threat
MAN: pfft!, the only threat here is you!, listen you better mind your business!
"What's going on here?", A lady asks as she approaches both men.
MAN: Step away from him, he seems unstable.
'Noah takes a good look at the lady to see she was covers in bruises fresh bruises
WOMAN: Honey,come on,it's time to go home now(she tells Ariel)
ARIEL: I don't want to (she replied sternly)
NOAH:um..I'm sorry, are you her mum?
WOMAN:Yes,yes I am.(she replied coldly avoiding eye contact)
NOAH:Do you..need any help?
MAN:What we need is for you to get out!,like..WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE!
WOMAN: Please Desmond, we've had enough yelling for one day...Go on.
NOAH: I met this man yelling and dragging her off,I was just concerned
WOMAN: Everything is fine. (she replied with eyes facing the ground as she hold Ariel by the hand) thanks for your concern but..
MAN: We best be going now.
The three walk way leaving Noah wth so many questions going through his head, A short while later, Noah arrived at Mr Raman's house,but as he approaches the front door,his stomach dropped due to a sudden bad feeling,he manages to knock on the door and moment later Mr Raman's maid opens the door with teary eyes..Noah looked inside to see Mr Raman's family and friends sitted in gloomy silence with bleak and sorrowful expressions on their faces.
NOAH: What..What happened?
MAID: (sniffles) It's Me Raman sir...he passed away.
Noah couldn't believe his ears, he would never have imagined this happening so soon, Though Mr Raman was 76 years old, he was always very healthy and active. Hearing the news left Noah heart broken, because years ago,when he had just been released from prison in pursuit for a job, he as rejected by every company or store because of his criminal record, but Mr Raman was the only one who believed in second chances and happily gave him a job.
NOAH: B...but how did this happen?, I saw him yesterday
MAID: It happened last night, Mr Raman suffered a heartattack
NOAH: oh my.. but how?,what happened?
"Who's at the door?" Mr Raman's eldest daughter asks as she walks up to them.
NOAH: Oh.. Morning Miss Simran, I I didn't know you were back
SIMRAN: I just arrived (she replied glaring at the house maid who walked away immediately with her head down)
NOAH: I am terribly sorry for your loss, you have my condolences, Mr Raman was a good person,he won't be forgotten.
SIMRAN: Wait...I remember you (she said with a low scowl) aren't you that rapist?
NOAH: Um..yes I was accused of that but I...
SIMRAN: Raj (He yelled out to her brother who sat on the couch inside)
'Raj gets up and walks up to his sister and Noah'
RAJ: Yeah?
SIMRAN: Do you know this man?
'Raj takes a good look at Noah'
RAJ: Yeah I remember him, Moses right?
NOAH: It's Noah..
SIMRAN: Yes..Noah..hmph!, to be honest I don't know why my father was so fund of hiring ex convicts,I kept telling him to stop but he wouldn't listen,now look..
RAJ: He's dead.
NOAH: I.. I'm sorry, I don't understand...I thought they said he died of a heartattack?
SIMRAN: Yes he did, but the Doctor said he's been having high stress levels recently,his blood pressure sky rocketed even
NOAH: But I can assure you, It wasn't because of work, yes he did have a few ex cons working for him, but we never gave him any trouble and he never regretted hiring any of us, The stress must've been due to something else.
SIMRAN: (Scoffs) Oh really?, something like what?...us??
NOAH: No no, Ofcourse not, that's not what I was saying.
RAJ: Listen brother, It doesn't matter whose fault it is,the fact is that he's gone now, and just so you know, there's gonna be alot of changes
NOAH: Changes?, what do you mean?
RAJ: I mean, Changes in the company, were gonna be letting a lot of people go (he replied with his hands in his pocket)
SIMRAN: Yeah.. starting with you( she said with a glare)
NOAH: What..but don't you think it's a bit too early for all that,I mean,it's not the right time to even be discussing this.
SIMRAN: Excuse me?!,Who do you think you are to question me!
Just then Mrs Singh(Raman's wife) walks up to Raj and Simran, tears in her eyes but an angry expression on her face
MRS SINGH: What is wrong with you two!, why are you both like this!, we just lost your father!,..don't you see!,(she cried right before breaking down in tears
SIMRAN: (sighs) come on Mom
NOAH: Mrs Singh please, everything will be okay, (he sympathizes)
The maid comes and takes Mrs Singh back inside, Noah tries to come in to help console her but Simran stops him by the door.
SIMRAN:Consider yourself fired.(she scowled right before slamming the door)
Noah heads back home sad and disappointed,he tells Alana everything that happened and she listens broken hearted.
ALANA: I..I can't believe he's gone,(she says with a somber expression)
NOAH: Yeah..life's short, May his good soul rest in peace
ALANA: Amen
NOAH: (Sighs) Guess I'll have to start looking for a job
ALANA: But, are you sure she meant to fire you?..I mean, it could've just been because she was sad,she just lost her father.
NOAH: Trust me babe, you haven't met her, but I can assure you, she and her brother are NOTHING like their parents, they're arrogant and spiteful,they Always gave Me Raman a hard time for everything,and Ofcourse I and my co workers weren't excluded the very few times she visited.
ALANA: Wow, the apple fell very far from the tree this time
NOAH: yup, it definitely did, but I don't want you to worry, I'll find another job and take food care of you and our baby okay?
ALANA: okay
NOAH: Have you eaten?
ALANA: Yeah I made breakfast.
NOAH: Good (sighs) I better call the guys,tell them what's going on.(he said pulling his phone out)
ALANA: Yes Ofcourse, it's Absolutely awful, but wait!, don't tell them on phone, bad new should never be delivered on phone
NOAH: hmm you're right,guess I'm heading out then
Noah heads out and calls his friends, Christian,Diego and Ade for an emergency meeting at a local coffee shop where he broke the bad news to them.
CHRISTIAN: I..I can't believe this
DIEGO: This is terrible, I mean..that man gave me a life, without his help, I would've been living on the streets.(he said sadly)
ADE: You're not the only one..So what's gonna happen to us now?
NOAH: Well it seems Simran and Raj will take over
ADE: Huh!, what did you just say?
CHRISTIAN: Oh you've gotta be kidding me
DIEGO: (deeps sigh) so..any ideas one where to apply for a new job?, cause knowing those two, they'll fire us at sight.
NOAH: Heh,they already fired me (Noah laughed)
DIEGO:(Gasps) no way.(he replied sarcastically)
NOAH: Look guys,I don't know where we'll start from, but I can assure you,just like Mr Raman believed in second chances,many people do too, we'll get through this guys.. we'll get through this.
