Chapter 29 - Captured by Gangsters

Chapter 29

As a group of security guards approached, Alex grew increasingly displeased. If the world lacked rules or laws, he might have taken more extreme actions against Baka for his excessive behavior. Furthermore, he also was utterly disgusted with the sycophantic woman by Baka's side.

With a stern expression, one of the security guards looked at Alex and then turned to Baka to understand the situation.

"Master Baka, is there a problem with this gentleman?" asked the guard.

"Yeah, he wasn't paying attention to his queue number while standing in line, so it was skipped. He then complained to one of the staff members. We suggested that he take a new number and join the queue again, but he refused and even threatened us," Baka dramatically explained, as if he had been wronged.

As the group of people heard Baka's explanation, they sneered and started making derogatory comments about Alex.

"Ahhh, it's all his fault, yet he still blames others!"

"Yeah, just look at his appearance, he must have been looking for trouble from the beginning."

"Hm, you're right. I've seen this kind of behavior before, next thing you know, he'll be demanding compensation, and if not, his gang will come for revenge!"

"I'm so tired of his attitude. Look at all those tattoos, even up to his neck, not to mention the missing arm. Probably the result of some fight he got into."

The bank's lobby became increasingly animated with various criticisms and complaints. Baka, seeing this situation, was delighted and secretly hoped that Alex would lose his composure and start a fight.

According to sources, the person in front of Baka was known for having a hot temper. Although Baka felt scared, he was confident that the bank's security team would come to his rescue.

If things played out as he expected, Alex would be provoked even further and might end up getting arrested.

Despite hearing the infuriating comments around him, Alex knew how to control his emotions. He was aware of the numerous security cameras in the area, and any reckless behavior could easily be used against him.

"Sir, if you're not interested in leaving peacefully, we will have to take further action. We cannot be held responsible for the consequences if you refuse to cooperate," warned the security guard sternly.

Alex, upon hearing this, couldn't help but smile wryly. Inside, he sneered at the situation. "If things go wrong, it won't be me who should be scared, but you idiots!" he thought.

"That's right, Mr. Russell. If you can be patient and act more reasonably, we won't have to embarrass you. However, if you continue to be unreasonable, we will be forced to remove you from the premises to ensure the smooth operation of our business," Baka said, pretending to be a victim of mistreatment.

Alex listened to Baka's words intently and then looked at him with a serious expression. "Heheheh, Mister Baka, you better be careful. I sense trouble on the horizon for you," Alex warned cryptically.

As the tension escalated, the security guards looked unsure of how to handle the situation. The atmosphere in the bank's lobby was tense, and everyone's attention was focused on the unfolding confrontation.

Baka, who was met with the other party's eerie laughter, felt an inexplicable sense of fear and unease. Goosebumps appeared on his skin, and he sensed an imminent danger.

"Mr. Russell, are you threatening me?" Baka asked nervously.

"No, Mr. Baka, I'm just forewarning you that you may face unfortunate consequences because you've crossed paths with the wrong person!" replied Alex in an unsettling tone.

Feeling an invisible force choking his neck, Baka panicked and shouted, "Security guards, quickly escort him out!"

The people around, including the security guards, found Baka's behavior rather peculiar, but they didn't pay much attention and simply assumed that he was agitated by Alex's words.

"Let's go!" said the guard figure firmly.

Alex, who saw this, could only sneer. "Don't touch me, I can leave by myself!"

He then walked calmly towards the bank's exit, with people around him following as he left. The security guards continued to escort him, despite Alex insisting he could manage alone.

After a short walk, Alex finally made it out of the bank, much to the relief of the security guards.

"Frustrating! Baka, you just wait for my revenge!"

With that, Alex continued walking in a less-than-favorable mood.

While walking, Alex accidentally collided with someone. Feeling apologetic, he turned towards the person to apologize. To his surprise, it was the same person he had thrown off the bus that morning. Curious if it was just a coincidence, Alex heard a voice whispering in his ear.

"If you wish to survive, follow us quietly. Otherwise…" the person whispered, trying to scare Alex.

Unfazed, Alex smiled knowingly. He then opened his cell phone and followed the person's guidance without any resistance.

Meanwhile, a bank guard who was observing everything from a distance frowned. "Is he part of the gangsters? Let's hope he doesn't bring any trouble to this bank..."

Meanwhile, Alex continued walking casually, following a group of large, fierce-looking individuals. Their presence was conspicuous, attracting the attention of everyone around them.

As they walked, Alex couldn't help but feel a bit confused about where they were taking him. However, after some time, he realized that the group was intentionally taking strange routes to avoid CCTV cameras. Despite the uncertainty, Alex's excitement grew with each step he took alongside this group.

Eventually, they arrived at an abandoned and dilapidated building.

The area was eerily quiet, giving off the impression that no one lived there. However, as Alex stepped into the dilapidated building, he sensed the presence of around a hundred people, thanks to his expanded divine consciousness.

Undeterred, Alex continued to walk lightly, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had entered a potentially dangerous situation. As he ventured deeper into the abandoned building, he found himself surrounded by darkness, and many curious eyes were fixated on him.

"The guy who tossed me off the bus is here!" shouted the person whom Alex had thrown away earlier.

The man sitting on a sofa observed Alex closely. "He does resemble someone from the system, but why did you lose to him?" he inquired.

"Cough, boss, I was unprepared when he attacked. He used a disgraceful stealth attack on me!" one of the henchmen explained.

Alex sneered at the excuse, not buying it for a moment. The boss then questioned Alex, "What are you doing in my territory?"

Alex frowned and responded, "Didn't I already tell your men that I was just going to town for regular business?"

Emotions ran high among those present, but the boss raised a finger to silence them. He continued, "Enough of your lies. Who would believe that a lowly dog like you would do anything but cause trouble?"

The atmosphere in the room grew tense as the boss and his gang seemed ready for a confrontation with Alex.

Alex was a bit confused, trying to make sense of the situation. The boss's words sounded strangely familiar, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he had encountered something like this before. As he hesitated, the boss's expression changed, as if he had hit the right nerve.

"Scared now that you've been found out? Who in the system wouldn't recognize the dog tattoo on your left hand?" the boss taunted.

Alex instinctively looked down at his left hand, and there it was—a tattoo of a dog with a mouth-covering symbol etched into his skin. Beneath the dog were foreign words that translated to "Faithful dog, master's owner!"

Suddenly, a rush of memories flooded back to Alex. He remembered the time he spent with a group of people who had a similar tattoo, calling themselves the "Loyal Dogs." They were skilled fighters and had a complex network of connections.

As the memories resurfaced, Alex now understood the situation better, and his guard went up. He didn't reveal anything and maintained his composure, waiting to see how things would unfold.

Initially, Alex had only a few tattoos, but upon entering the underground system, he found himself getting more and more inked. However, among all the tattoos he had acquired, the dog tattoo held the most significant and unforgettable meaning in his life.

The dog tattoo symbolizes a person or leader in a gang who was subservient to one individual—the "Master." This "Master" wielded immense political, economic, and military power, and he had pulled Russell into the underworld. It was also likely that this same figure had intentionally manipulated events leading to his punishment and expulsion from the army.

The sight of the dog tattoo brought back a rush of emotions, and Alex felt the urge to rip the skin off his body. The memories associated with that tattoo were painful and reminded him of the control this "Master" had exerted over him.

With a clenched fist, Alex suppressed the anger and frustration that surged within him.

"Have you finally realized your stupidity? This isn't the territory for you to act like a groveling mad dog. This is our bear territory. I command you, as the Brown Bear, to leave this jurisdiction immediately!"

Upon hearing this, Alex snapped back to reality, yet he wasn't afraid in the slightest. Instead, he grinned mischievously, as if mocking the other party.

"What if I don't feel like leaving?" asked Alex with a playful smile.

"Hahaha! What a big joke! Do you really think you have a choice?" the Brown Bear said, laughing as he reached for a gun from the round table beside him.

"Hahaha, at first, I didn't want any trouble, but it seems like you're asking for it. Besides, I can't stand the foul breath coming from your mouth. You should leave this territory and submit to our jurisdiction."

The Brown Bear figure sneered, not taking Alex's words seriously. He couldn't care less about Alex's threats, as he wasn't sure about the power behind him.

The tension in the room was palpable, and almost everyone was disgusted with Alex, eager to attack him if the Brown Bear gave the order. However, one person in the corner of the room was trembling with fear.

It was the person whom Alex had thrown off the bus earlier. He felt a shiver down his spine upon hearing Alex's words and seeing his smile.

"This feels familiar..." the trembling figure mumbled timidly.
