Chapter 30
"So, do you want to leave here freely? Then kneel before me, or else, I'll break every single one of your bones!" said the Brown Bear nonchalantly.
Alex, however, showed no interest in the threat. "Enough with the nonsense. Spit out what you want; don't waste my time!"
Surprisingly, the Brown Bear remained unfazed by Alex's defiance and continued speaking in a casual tone. "I simply want to know the secrets of your gang and the reason for your presence in our territory."
"I have nothing to do with any gangs or groups, and I don't have any particular reason for being here," replied Alex, still maintaining his calm demeanor.
Listening to this, the Brown Bear's figure became displeased. He had expected the other party to soften up after a while, but it didn't happen.
"Talking nicely isn't working, huh? In that case, let's use brute force," the Brown Bear said, glancing meaningfully in one direction.
Following his glance, a bald man with a sleeveless shirt covered in tattoos emerged and immediately lunged at Alex, throwing a punch. Surprisingly, Alex smiled meaningfully and didn't dodge the attack at all. The sound of impact echoed through the room.
Thud!
Alex was pushed back by the punch, but he seemed unfazed by the force.
After that, Alex remained calm, showing no signs of fear or distress. Instead, he looked at his cell phone with a satisfied smile. Little did anyone know that he had recorded everything that had transpired since the moment he was threatened and forced to follow them.
Alex had been patiently waiting for the right moment to take action, and now he had a solid reason to retaliate against the other side. The people around him looked puzzled by his behavior, trying to guess if he was calling for reinforcements or planning something else.
Tensions rose as everyone wondered what Alex was up to. Observing that Alex was still focused on his cell phone, the Brown Bear grew increasingly displeased. He decided to order his men to attack once again.
"Why are you all silent? Attack him!" the Brown Bear shouted, urging his men to take action. A group of people rushed forward, but Alex didn't budge from his spot, showing any signs of fear or trembling.
Instead, he had a strange and excited smile on his face, which baffled everyone around. They mocked him for being weird and foolish to take on so many opponents alone.
However, there was one person who became increasingly worried when he saw the peculiar grin on Alex's face. He sensed something was off.
"Hehehe, I've been annoyed with the people at the bank for a long time. Luckily, there are you guys who can be a place to vent my anger!" Alex exclaimed gleefully as he charged towards the crowd.
The scene that followed was a chaotic clash between a dozen people and one fearless individual. The sound of blows and cries of pain filled the air as Alex unleashed his prowess.
"Loud!"
"Crazy!"
"Argh, my feet!"
"My hand!"
Strange sounds began to fill the air, from the sound of punches landing to the screams of the defeated. The intense fighting continued for quite a while before a dozen people finally lay on the ground in a battered and bruised state.
The other group that was just watching stood there, dumbfounded by the swift and powerful display of strength from Alex.
The Brown Bear, seething with anger and frustration, shouted at his remaining men, "How useless! Finish him off quickly, or you'll face the consequences!"
But, to their dismay, the same result repeated itself as Alex effortlessly incapacitated the remaining men without breaking a sweat.
The Brown Bear couldn't believe his eyes, witnessing the defeat of his formidable fighters at the hands of this seemingly ordinary man.
Unable to contain his curiosity, he finally asked, "Where did this strong person come from?"
Alex fought with remarkable ease, venting his emotions on these people without the slightest fear of injury. Not only was he skilled in combat, but his strength had increased exponentially after practicing absorbing chakra.
Amidst the chaotic fight, the Brown Bear's horror grew as he witnessed Alex's seemingly invincible prowess. At that moment, he realized that he was facing the fabled "King of War," one of the legendary mad dogs known as the Dogs of the Warlord.
The revelation struck the Brown Bear like a bolt of lightning, confirming his suspicion that the man before him was indeed a force to be reckoned with.
"Who else but a one-armed figure can fight like a tiger among a pack of dogs?" The realization struck the Brown Bear, causing cold sweat to break out, and his feet involuntarily became weak.
He even forgot that he still had a gun in his hand. But even if he had remembered, he wouldn't have dared to shoot either.
Amidst the chaos, Alex continued to fight, effortlessly defeating many opponents. The Brown Bear left standing with a very embarrassed appearance, looked at his men lying on the ground with pity, knowing they might be disfigured after this encounter. The War King's dog was notorious for being vicious and merciless, preferring to maim people rather than kill them, making them even more fearsome.
The thought of living with a disabled body in the underground system terrified the Brown Bear. They relied on their physical prowess to make money through violence, and being disabled would severely impact their standing in the underworld.
Trembling with fear, the Brown Bear stammered, "L-lord Warlord, I-I apologize in advance. I have no eyes and offended a master…"
Alex, who heard this, was slightly surprised. He never thought that he, or rather Russell, would be so famous.
"Heheheh, didn't you say you wanted to cripple me earlier? Let me do that to you first!"
"Ah, gentlemen, please don't! I have a secret that maybe the Lord of War Kings will like. I will give it to you, but sir, don't cripple me!" the brown bear coaxed to the point that he prostrated himself in front of Alex.
Alex, who was listening to this, was slightly interested.
"What's that secret?"
Seeing that the other party was a little interested, the brown bear was relieved. At least the other party could be invited to negotiate, even though he would lose.
"Sir, I have such a splendid thing that the Lord of War Kings will never believe their eyes. I guarantee that the Lord of War Kings will not be disappointed. But you must promise not to cripple me and let me live!"
"Hehehe, is it your position to negotiate with me?" said Alex with a sneer.
Ignoring the other party's pleas, Alex directly punched the brown bear. The powerful blows left the other party's legs and arms severely injured, making it impossible for them to heal easily. Alex continued to unleash his fury, landing several punches on the brown bear's face until his anger subsided.
After that, he left the dilapidated building and returned to the main road.
As Alex walked, he was in a very good mood. Not only had he vented his frustration on a group of people, but he had also made a good harvest.
Since arriving at the abandoned building, he had been scanning it with his divine consciousness. During the search, he discovered a hidden dungeon underneath the structure. Though he couldn't fully grasp the contents due to the limitations of his divine sense, Alex decided to take everything in the dungeon and store it in his space ring.
Hearing about the brown bear having treasure, Alex emptied the dungeon, thinking that by taking all the items, he might come across what the bear possessed.
Deliberately leaving the group of people conscious, Alex made sure they witnessed him leaving, never suspecting anything about the hidden basement. This way, no one would associate the loss of their property with him, as he seemed to "know nothing" about it. After a while, Alex finally arrived at the shopping center. His original plan was to pay off his debt and buy a car for himself, but the day turned out to be full of unexpected twists—from encountering gangsters on the bus to being targeted at a bank and later held captive by another group of gangsters. Alex hoped that he wouldn't encounter any more troublesome situations as he headed toward a car dealership.
Soon, Alex found an auto shop and went inside to have a look at the available options. The place had a variety of cars, and he was approached by a woman with a friendly smile.
"Hello, welcome to our auto shop! Can I help you find the car you want?" she asked.
Alex replied, "Of course. I'm looking for a car that can transport goods for daily use but can also be a comfortable family car. Maybe a van or mini pickup that can accommodate my family and belongings."
The woman understood his needs and started suggesting some options. She introduced a Grand Caravan-type van with a spacious design and a trunk that could fit a lot of belongings, making it ideal for families. She also mentioned the Ranger-type mini pickup, which, although smaller than a van, had a good transport capacity for daily needs.
Interested, Alex asked to see both cars. The two of them then went to inspect the vehicles. After looking at each car, Alex decided to purchase the mini pickup.
When Alex was about to talk to the woman about the purchase, a familiar female voice interrupted them.
"Oh, Nova, are you blind? Why do you let these gangsters linger in the shop? Can't you see that everyone is scared?" It was Pearl, the woman who had helped Baka in slandering him. She was the manager of the auto shop.
The woman, Nova, tried to explain that Alex was there to buy a car, but Pearl insisted that he had bad intentions, as she had seen him causing trouble at the bank earlier. Pearl began to raise a fuss and called for the security team.
Alex could only sigh at the situation, recognizing the familiar pattern. He realized that Pearl was trying to cause trouble for him again.
As the security team approached, Alex couldn't help but think, "Doesn't this seem all too familiar?" He braced himself to face the confrontation with the burly men in uniforms rushing towards him.
