Chapter 5: Preparing Equipment Part 3
Afterwards, I arrived safely at the guild and headed to the receptionist who helped me with my registration.
"Oh, you registered yesterday," she said.
"Yes, I'm Jin. I was able to procure my equipment safely, so I thought I'd take on some requests," I replied.
"I see. It looks like you went to a good blacksmith," the receptionist said as she looked at my equipment.
At first glance, it appeared to be ordinary leather equipment, but the receptionist, having seen many adventurers, seemed to have noticed that it was made with dragon materials in an instant.
"I got it cheaply as leftovers," I said with a smile.
The woman smiled back and prepared a few requests for me to take on.
There are various ways to accept requests as an adventurer. One of them is to have the receptionist prepare requests for you to take on.
Finding requests on the bulletin board is troublesome, and if they're permanent requests, it may take longer to get out of the current state of financial difficulty.
Thinking so, I asked the receptionist who had processed my registration yesterday to prepare some requests for me.
"I heard you were short on money, so how about this request? It's a request with an outstanding reward for beginner adventurers," she said, showing me a request form.
I read the request form she showed me.
Request Name: Herb Collection
Details: Any type of herb is fine. Bring as many herbs as possible.
Reward: One gold coin per bag. Up to five bags.
After reading the request form, my body reacted with surprise.
But if I showed any signs of agitation in a place like this, people might think I'm weird, so I decided to remain calm.
"Herb collection, is it? That's a permanent request, isn't it?" I asked.
"Yes, but this person wants a lot of herbs for their research, and they've put up the request because it would be inconvenient for others if they bought up all the herbs in the market. This is the size of the bag," the woman said as she took out a roughly 20 liter hemp bag from under the counter.
"I see... Understood. The reward is quite good, so I will take this request."
"Understood. The deadline is five days, is that okay?"
"Yes, that's fine."
After confirming the details, I proceeded with the request procedures at the reception desk.

As I thought this, I arrived at the medicinal herb gathering spot and began to collect them.
I picked them up, appraised them, and put them in the bag.
I enjoyed this simple task, so I continued doing it in silence.
Since monsters rarely appeared in this location, I continued collecting even as it became dark without realizing it.
In the end, I finished collecting the required five bags of medicinal herbs in just one day.
"What? Already finished collecting?"
"I like doing simple tasks, so I was doing it silently and the bags were filled up before I knew it."
As I said this, I took out the bags of medicinal herbs from my [Extra-dimensional Box] where I had stored them.
The receptionist was surprised to see the five bags suddenly appear in front of her.
"You have a storage-type skill..."
"Yes, it's convenient. This skill."
I smiled as I said this, and the receptionist's smile became a little forced.
Seeing her reaction, I felt that the "storage-type skill" was probably a rare skill in this world.
Afterwards, they asked me to appraise the contents of the bags and took me to the workshop.
The workshop was located in the basement of the guild, and there were several guild members waiting there.

One of the workers called out to the receptionist.

"Yes, that's right. Please put them on the table over there, Jin-san."
After being told so by Fine-san, the receptionist, I replied, "Understood," and put the bags on the designated table.

"It was all herbs for five bags. Since the contents have already been confirmed in the delivery request, I will give you the reward money when you go back up," said Fine-san.
After receiving the reward money and returning to the guild's first floor, I happily went back to the inn with five gold coins earned for the day.
