A raggedly dressed teenager sat at the table quietly. Shifting from side to side he wondered what he was doing here. 'Oh, that's right, I'm here because I slapped that guy around a bit too much.'
Thinking back on it, Enyo realized it wasn't the best idea doing so, although the guy was basically begging for it by calling him short. Enyo hated being called short.
Whilst still in his thoughts he heard the creak of a door opening, looking to his left he saw a frightened officer stick his round head into the room with an urgent expression plastered across his round face.
'Jason', he thought annoyed by his presence. He knew this officer's name already. This round bodied officer also knew Enyo.
"Get up! You're free to go, little man. A gate opened nearby and all police officers in the vicinity need to rush over now. Corrupted creatures are flooding out as we speak! We're evacuating civilians from the area before this entire place turns into a bloodbath. The ignited are still fifteen minutes away! I suggest you run towards the vicinity of the city if you want to survive." The officer said quickly.
Enyo cracked an eerie smile, "That sounds pretty rough officer. I hope you survive it!" he commented in a sarcastic tone.
The officer's eye twitched a bit as he stared at the small boy getting up from the seat with a worry-free expression as if he didn't just hear news of a disastrous gate opening.
'Could a person really be so irritating?' He thought to himself as he watched the teenager shuffle past and walk out of the holding room and head straight for the exit without any need for directions. What was the point of helping him leave? After all, this boy had been here countless times already.
Walking out of the police station he headed towards his home. If you could even call it that.
"I can't wait to get back to my beautiful home and lay down, it's been a rough day. I just hope that piece of shit Jason dies whilst he's evacuating people from the gate." He said aloud as a smile crossed his face. He continued on without a worry in the world.
Soon a long frown permeated his face. As he headed towards his home in the ghetto that was situated just outside of the city walls, he realized that there were sirens blazing, getting louder as he got closer to his place. Recalling what the officer said, he began sweating.
"No, no it can't be." He shouted in the empty street. He pushed off the ground and began running at an extremely quick pace towards his home.
After a few minutes of running past various police vehicles and personnel whilst also witnessing multiple people rush past him in the opposite direction, he rounded the corner of the street and what he witnessed sent chills down his spine.
Infront of him stood a two-meter-tall creature that towered over him completely. It had long black fur all over it and resembled a grizzly bear with razor sharp claws and two terrifying fangs protruding from its horrid mouth.
Even worse though it stood on its two hind legs. Enyo gaped as he looked underneath the monstrosity, it stood menacingly on top of a crushed cardboard box around two meters in length. Enyo's beautiful home.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Enyo shouted at the terrifying creature, his rage bypassing all of the fear he felt moments ago.
The creature looked down and made direct eye contact with him. Funny enough it seemed as though the creature was angrier than him for some reason. Its dark black eyes permeated pure hatred as he stared at the fragile boy. After a split-second Enyo came to the realization that he may have just unintentionally killed himself over a glorified cardboard box. Could anyone blame him though? That was his home.
Leaving not even a second to spare he returned the creature's cold gaze and pointed behind It with a terrified expression. "What the hell is that!" He yelled loudly as the unintelligent creature shifted its tormented eyes to look behind itself. Without a moment of hesitation Enyo turned his frail body around and ran for his life.
Enyo heard a horrifying gurgling sound behind him as he ran across another street. Taking a look back, he saw the grizzly-like creature running after him on two feet, with a white froth spilling from its agape mouth.
"Did I make this thing even angrier?" He cried out, cursing his earlier attempt at a distraction.
Running for his life, Enyo actually remained quite calm. He has had to run for his life many times before, although he had never run from such a monstrosity before. He had an inkling of what that thing was since he heard about a gate opening from the round-faced officer in the holding room.
"It must be one of the corrupted creatures from the other plane."
Although everyone had different names for them, he had heard someone refer to them as such in the past. Realizing this he knew he had no hope of survival if he was caught so he quickly formulated a plan in his mind. A plan to survive.
Minutes passed by excruciatingly slowly as he ran for his life, ducking into alleyways and running across destitute roads in a bid to escape the creature all the while he ran past other ragged individuals screaming for their lives.
They seemed to be running the opposite direction to him in a bid to escape the mayhem, although it seemed some weren't so lucky. Scattered across the apocalyptic-like streets Enyo witnessed horrifying scenes, people who couldn't escape the disaster could be seen laying on the blood riddled streets.
Well, not exactly laying on the streets since no single body he came across so far was still intact. Guts and all sorts of human remains were thrown all around on the floor, on the walls of houses and small stores and even hanging from lamp posts. It was a bloody scene that was akin to a massacre. This was the fate of normal humans when they met corrupted creatures from the other plane. Or at least the fate of humans in the ghetto since those spark snobs were always first on scene for any gate openings in the main city.
Fear was quickly grabbing at his heart as he witnessed these scenes. He slowly but surely came closer to reaching his destination, the Collos River.
This was a fast-moving water source situated under a small but long bridge. His plan was to jump into the water and use the current to escape the bear like creature since he knew he had zero hope of outrunning it.
Approaching the bridge that sat on top of the river Enyo began to feel a small sense of relief as the corrupted creature was gaining quite a bit of ground on him and in another minute or so Enyo would just be mincemeat left on the ground.
He couldn't relax now though, he had to get to safety first. Finally stepping onto the lengthy bridge Enyo made a sudden turn to the right as he pushed one of his legs on top of the side railing and used it to push himself off of the side of the bridge.
Before relief could flood through his body, he realized that something was wrong. That was because directly beneath him he witnessed true horror. Around thirty grizzly like creatures were all struggling to exit the river and get onto land. All of them seemed to resemble something from a nightmare one might have as a kid. But that wasn't Enyo's biggest problem. His biggest problem was that he was dropping straight into their entrance to this world.
A big blue portal situated facing upwards on the river seemed to mesmerize him as he grew closer. Feeling a pull from his body, his chest began to drastically heat up as his body seemed to be ignited with a flame he didn't know was there before. Falling at an astonishing rate Enyo could only manage a single word before he was sucked in.
"Shit!"

Dropping to the ground he was instantly smothered by dirt as he seemed to eat some unintentionally. Getting up from his fall Enyo spat out mouthfuls of dirt and tried to resist crying as he teared up.
His face was covered in dirt and his nose was red from hitting the ground so hard.
"Why is life so unkind to me?" He questioned aloud as he continued to remove dirt from his mouth.
He was stopped before he could continue on with his self-pity though, he realized something strange. His eyes had cleared, and he had suddenly realized there were a bunch of words right in front of him. He focused on them with a confused expression plastered across his somber face.
