Chapter 17 - Impulsive

"You will never be as good as the boys; remember that always," devil Vicente added once more.

I stood up from my seat already and looked at him straight. "Who says that we are even competing with a team who's all talk but can't even manage to defeat Herondale High? The school you despised so much? Either way, I don't care about you and your big mouth. Let me just prove someday that you are wrong about that. Until then, stay the fuck out of us and stop being a scum. I put emphasis on the last words before I made my way out of the office.

I did not go back to our classroom because, truth be told, I felt embarrassed facing them and the others. I have no one to blame but myself. It was all my fault. Sure, Vicente had been really plotting to disband our team, but I just handed him what he wanted on a silver platter. It's my fucking fault.

I decided to go here to the soccer field because this is the least likely place that my friends will expect me to go. I sat in the middle of the field and then started to sob my heart out.

I invested so much effort in that team, yet in one snap of a finger, it disappeared. And what hurts more is that I am at fault.

Sure, I was provoked. But I should've just walked away. I should've just picked my battles carefully. Cutting our team for that reason is not worth it.

When I stopped and started running around the field, I could not care less that I was wearing my Type A uniform, which is the blouse and skirt. This is my punishment for being reckless and stupid. I deserve more than this.

I had already run five laps when, from where I was, I saw Kristel walking towards the gate. That's weird. It's not yet their dismissal time.

I stopped running around. Instead, I make my way towards Kristel to chase after her, but unfortunately, she's already outside. When I was about to step a foot out of the gate, as usual, one of the guards stopped me.

"You are not allowed to go out. Which class are you from?"

"I'm just going to—" I was not able to finish my sentence upon seeing who Kristel was talking to on the other side of the road.

Blaise?! What is he going to do with Kristel?

She kissed him on the cheek, and he even opened the door of his car for her.

Oh no!

"She's being kidnapped!" I yelled, but before I could move, the car was already gone. I have to do something!

"She's not being kidnapped. That's—" I did not let the guard finish as I pushed him aside so I could go out. Fortunately, a delivery guy just stopped in front of our gate, and he's using a motorcycle.

"Let me borrow this! Emergency!" I said, and I already rode on the motorcycle before he could even kill the engine. I did not spare any more time as I started moving already in the direction where I saw Blaise's car was going.

Where is he going to bring Kristel? Damn, she's too young for him; they could actually pass as siblings already!

When I arrived at the intersection, the traffic light came to a stop, but I did not. A truck almost hit me, but I don't care. It's more important that I save Kristel from him.

The car signaled right, and it stopped in front of a café. I stopped upon the realization that it was the same café where we also went last weekend.

I saw Blaise go out of his car, then walk towards the passenger side to open the door for Kristel. They then held hands as they entered the café.

I parked the motorcycle in front of his car, then hurriedly entered the café.

"Kristel!" I called out to Kristel while walking towards her. When she was just within my reach, I pulled her up to me and then put myself between her and Blaise.

I faced Blaise, then splashed the water on his face from the glass in front of him. He was taken aback by that, but it didn't take long before his reaction turned to fury.

"What was that for?" he growled at me. To be honest, he's really scary, but I can't back down right now!

"What are you doing with Kristel?! She's too young; are you kidnapping her?"

"Kidnapped?!" they yelled at the same time. That shut me up.

What the hell is happening?

"Seriously, Arya. Seriously?!" Blaised retorted sardonically while wiping his face with a napkin.

Kristel then hugged me. "He isn't a kidnapper. He's actually my brother. Remember when I told you last time that I'd introduce you to him? He's the one I was referring to," she whispered to me.

My eyes widened at that. I could feel my cheeks flushing as I looked at Blaise sheepishly. I was about to apologize to him, but he suddenly pulled me to him. I was so surprised that I lost my balance, so I practically threw myself at him to stop myself from falling to the ground. Unfortunately, my lips landed on his.

"Impulsive. Aren't you, babe?" he asked teasingly when our lips parted. I did not respond. I just swallowed hard because my heart is beating so fast right now because of that kiss.

I pushed him away from me when we heard sirens. Two police mobile cars stopped in front of the café, and from one of those, I saw the delivery guy who owns the motorcycle go out.

Blaise laughed at that. "I appreciate the concern for my sister, but seriously, babe? Stealing a motorcycle?" he asked incredulously, as if he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that I just did that.

He then left me with Kristel to talk to the cops.
