The cops said that me chasing someone who I thought was being kidnapped is kind of heroic, yet they also told me that if such a thing happens, it's much better to call the authorities to seek help because it's safer that way.
Fortunately, the delivery guy won't press charges because he understood why I did it; however, he asked for compensation for his tires that were damaged because of the way I drove it. That's when I realized that I did not bring anything with me, so I just told him that I would send him that money, but it seems like Blaise has been listening to our conversation because he was the one who gave the money instead. I refused at first, but he explained that somehow it was his fault, so it would just be right for him to do that.
I just let him go since he wouldn't really budge. And more importantly, I'm supposed to be more thankful that nothing bad happened to me because if things did not end up like this, my brothers would freak out for sure once they found out. I'm sure that even Dad and Rennan would go home even though their business trip in the US is important.
"Anyway, I'm expecting that anytime now, someone from your school is coming to get you. I just want to thank you for your concern towards my sister, but I hope you won't do something as reckless as that."
I swallowed hard at that because I still feel embarrassed about what I did to him last time. He looks fine, though his chest is still soaking.
"That's nothing. Also, I want to apologize for what I did to you," I still said, then took a bite of the brownies that he ordered for me. Somehow the pastry tastes bland to me, maybe because I am distracted by the fact that Blaise's chest is all exposed and it seems that he doesn't plan on closing his blazer anytime soon. I know he's doing that to dry himself, but I can't stop its effect on me.
We are facing each other while Kristel is seated beside me. Every time it crosses my mind that they are siblings, I can't help but feel stupid. I know that Kristel's surname is Gandia, but I did not pay attention to it, so it didn't really occur to me that they are related, let alone siblings.
"I'm surprised that you know each other," Kristel said, all smiles. Blaise smirked at that.
"We don't just know each other. She's my girlfriend."
I widened my eyes at him, but he just ignored me. I looked at Kristel, whose face was dumbfounded while looking at us.
"What a joke; it's not even funny. Arya and Maven just broke up," Kristel said.
"Why are you calling that jerk like that? Is that your brother?" clearly he's pissed at Kristel for referring to Maven, but Kristel just snorted at that. Blaise sighed; it seems like he felt bad for suddenly raising his voice at his sister, who was just being nice.
"Anyway, I am serious. You can ask her. We just became a couple after he broke up with that ugly ex of hers."
"That's so mature of you, Blaise," I said, rolling my eyes, but he just smirked.
"Hahaha. Anyway, is that true, Arya?" Kristel asked, chiming in.
"Unfortunately, yup! I'm your brother's girlfriend."
Kristel stopped eating and looked at me with disbelief. I did not laugh or smile even for a bit, so she would really think that I was serious.
"Oh yay! I'm so happy to hear that; finally, I have a sister!" she exclaimed and even hugged me.
Upon hearing that, I suddenly felt bad. The way Kristel is hugging me right now makes me feel like she's genuinely happy for me and her brother. I can somewhat relate to how she's feeling because I was also like this when GD brought Savanna to us the first time. What Kristel said was also what I told Savanna, since I have always wanted a sister. All my life, I asked for one because I have three brothers, but it did not happen.
Blaise and I's deal is only for one month. And we have roughly twenty-seven days remaining, and after that, we're done. I can only imagine how Kristel would be disappointed.
When I looked at Blaise, he was also looking at me. I just smiled sadly. At least when the time comes, it's not just me who needs to explain it to his sister.

Like Blaise expected, some staff from our school arrived, including Mr. Montgomery and his assistant. It seems that this is quite serious because the high school head, Ms. Dematera, is her, as is even my adviser, Mr. Caballeda.
They all have identical worried faces upon seeing me.
"Ms. Fonacier, are you okay?" Mr. Cabellada asked, and he even checked me for bruises. I am not comfortable being touched, especially by a male teacher, so I dismissed him right away.
"I'm okay. Though, can I go home? I feel a bit nauseous and I want to sleep," I said lamely.
"Sure. We're going to send you home after this. We'll just give your things to your friends later," Mr. Montgomery said. I almost rolled my eyes.
"Yes, let my friends handle the things I left, but let the Gandias take me home," I said.
They all looked at each other, and it seems that they did not pick up on what I said. I know what they are thinking. Of course, Blaise is wearing his uniform, so it's obvious that they do not trust him because he's from Herondale High.
It's as if they're any better.
I then reached for Blaise's hand and entwined it with mine just to prove my point. Come on, if I were to choose between them and him, I'd choose Blaise without second thoughts.
"We know each other, so can you just leave?"
"We can't just leave you alone with him, Ms. Fonacier. You were almost hit by a truck, and you even stole a motorcycle," Ms. Dematera said.
I raised a brow on that. "And whose fault is that? Isn't it the school's responsibility for not being able to chase me when I went out of the premises? If you want to tell my dad and brothers about that incompetence, then be my guest. Feel free to take me home. Additionally, after what happened to your office, Mr. Montgomery, do you think I really want to be with you right now? Come on."
Mr. Montgomery was obviously surprised about that, but I just kept a straight face while the rest of the faculty members looked at each other and became uneasy. They know the Fonaciers and how they are protective of me. If they found out that the school actually didn't stop me, even though I was lucky enough to not be harmed, my family wouldn't just let it slide. I do not even want to let Rennan know about this because these people in front of me would absolutely lose their jobs.
Mr. Montgomery sighed heavily. "If that is really what you want, then alright. But can we get an assurance that they will take you home safely?'
"Seriously? Kristel is a student."
"Yes, Sir," Blaise answered, cutting me off. No one said anything after that, as all their protests were caught in their throats.
