Chereads / the revenge of the Nephilim / Chapter 6 - chapter 6

Chapter 6 - chapter 6

while my stay here was fun, I have to get back to my mother.

I used just the right amount of mana in my feet and jumped from tree to tree.

while this may not be faster than running it was safer. while this won't hide me from a dragon, it'll hide me from both ground and sky attacks.

I did have to rest for a couple of minutes for my mana to recover, since using too much mana will make me vulnerable during attacks.

upon my way, I walked the edges of the trees when I found a carriage getting attacked by summoned monsters.

I put my mask on and flicked my hand. cards shot out of it and impaled itself into the monster's skull before disappearing.

I killed the summoner and left again, unknowingly this little encounter would heavily impede my revenge.

because not only would I have the human kingdom, I would have EVERY Kingdom after me.

because the final hero had made his move, and soon the balance of power will be turned over.

but for me? I was still walking back to my small town even if it takes a long while.

my stamina was rank B so I could walk for days, but running 3 at most. but even then it'll take a long while.

as I was running I came sliding to a stop. I sensed unstable mana, and I could feel the hostile mana from here.

I used an invisibility spell and a noise-canceling spell on my feet. I began observing the place.

I can tell this place was holding a dark secret just by how many guards there were.

"help" that's what I was feeling in the mana deep in this place.

I was debating whether or not to meddle in this kind of business, because if I do I would most likely take longer to get home.

"damn it" I cursed.

cards appeared in my right hand and I began expertly throwing them as I took out the guards one by one.

of course, I made sure to make sure these people were dead as I hide in the shadows.

I snuck into the lab and began killing the people silently and hiding their bodies.

when I reached the mana that I felt was in pain, I found a baby dragon, no older than four.

I was in quite a conundrum. I could take the dragon, and release him. or take him with me until it's healed.

I sighed before gently picking up the baby dragon, it did try to bite my fingers but was too injured too.

once out of the building that was hidden in the mountains I used my jack card and blew up the entire place.

"your safe now buddy" I whispered as I ran away from the crime.

once a good distance away I laid the dragon on my lap and slowly fed him... her? a healing potion.

'...why ..' I heard someone speak telepathically.

I looked around before looking down at the dragon who was staring into my eyes.

"Why what," I asked.

'...why did you save me?' the faint whisper came again.

"... because you were innocent, that's all I need," I said as I fed it the healing potion.

'are...you...like them' The voice grew stronger the more it drunk.

"you can stay with me till your healed... alright?" I said putting the dragon on my shoulder and began walking.

the walk was quiet but I sensed the slightest hint of mana from the dragon who turned itself invisible.

I had to fight some monsters, but other than that it was quiet.

I finally arrived back to my hometown, I was a mess, covered in blood (not my own) and brimming with mana.

I dodged a lightning attack and laughed.

"you sure have gotten rust teacher," I said looking to my right and saw Lisa with her book of mystery in her hand.

"And you have certainly gotten faster apprentice," she said before pulling me to her house.

she tossed me in the bath and proceeded to give me a rundown with soup, and ice cold water.

my hair was almost to my waist so she gave me a haircut. she didn't cut it too short since I protested, a lot.

I finally went to visit my mother again... I stood over her bed and sighed.

I grabbed my knife and slit my wrist. I put my wrist to her mouth and made her drink my blood.

my blood was also a part of my skill [the all-cure]. it was rare, but it was extremely good and saved me many times.

my mother's hands went to my wrist immediately as she began drinking my blood. her eyes flashed red as she clung to my arm and continued drinking.

"there you go," I said as her body naturally recovered, and her skin was getting clearer.

it took weeks of doing it, but eventually, my mother woke up. after all, an angel only needs a blood sacrifice to recover naturally.

oh? she thought I wouldn't mind out. well unlucky I met many angels over there in the demi-human's territory.

"...welcome back mother," I said as she opened her eyes.

"a-axel," my mother said as she slowly recovered her speaking voice.

"yeah... it is," I said as she pulled me into a hug.

"you've gotten so big... what happened to your hand" she began saying as she began searching for all of my hidden injuries.

however, upon searching she found them. my three hidden decks, and my hand guard that the elf lady gave me.

"your the" she began to say before I covered her mouth.

"shhh. I am, but if you say it here I'll have countries after me. my location and identity are safe so far..." I said.

"your right, how could I forget," she said.

I helped her on her feet and felt walked her out of the clinic.

"It changed so much" she whispered as we left the building.

"it has hasn't it" I heard Miss Lisa's voice next to me.

"teacher," I said gently bowing my head.

she gazed into my eyes and it cackled with electricity.

"you should know just how much your blood would be worth should your little secret get out correct?" Miss Lisa said.

"What secret," my mother asked.

"you do well not to hide your true nature from me, angel. if not for him I would have killed you the moment I sensed your presence" she said.

I stood hesitantly in Infront of my mother. my fingers ready with multiple cards at the ready.

but instead of attacking Miss Lisa just sighed.

"Why is my apprentice so troublesome? first, you get kidnapped by a noble family, then get teleported and experimented on in the demi-human territory. and you have a dragon" Miss Lisa said folding her hands.

"teacher I can-" I began saying.

"explain? I know. you're the type to get thrown into trouble with almost no probability of winning but still manage to win" she said before leaning towards my ear.

"I'm calling dibs" she whispered.
