'fuck' I said pacing my room.
it was one thing to have someone claim you. but it was a different story when you have the strongest MAGE claim you.
especially since that mage can hit you from across the country. that's why I was weary of her at first.
my aptitude for magic was only shadows holy, and ice, while Miss Lisa had electro, water, earth, and ice.
I once saw her freeze a man's neck off and she was across the pub. so yeah, I was pretty terrified.
....but having a beautiful woman such as Miss Lisa claim you weren't as bad as you thought.
sure she had some... quirks but who doesn't?
I began purging bandits at an alarming rate. so much so that they were now fleeing on-site upon seeing me.
my cloak became my know symbol. it was a rare one, so there was no replicating it.
I raided another bandit camp and found all of their valuables. gold, money, and lots of weapons I couldn't use.
my dagger was more suited for me since an old friend in the demi-human territory built it for me.
I put the bandit leader's head in a pouch and went to the adventures guild and claimed the reward.
"How is my favorite adventurer doing," the elf receptionist said leaning over the counter.
I put the bloody sack on the desk.
"Joseph Smith. three gold, 12 silver, and 53 copper" I said.
the elf tried to put her finger under my chin, but the only thing she found was a blade under her neck.
"I'm not the only adventurer in this town now. so leave that nickname out of your mouth" I said as my eyes flashed with a golden glow.
her elven eyes only showed a playful side, as if she could have reacted if she wanted to but chose not to.
"oh, so you're going to threaten this old lady like that," she said as she put her hands on her cheeks.
"I knew you were old" I whispered under my breath.
vines appeared under my feet and tried to wrap around my leg. I jumped onto the table and avoided the vines.
as I jumped she noticed something on my neck and immediately stopped.
" ..so that's how it is," she said as her eyes narrowed.
I reacted hesitantly as I rubbed my neck and noticed something on my skin.
I froze before running home and looking into the mirror and looking at my neck.
it was a sign of Miss Lisa's electro element. Does she claim me, on a more personal level?
'...fuck'
...
honestly, the more that I thought about it, the more I realized it wasn't so bad. Miss Lisa was still 22, and since I'm turning 15 soon it'll be pretty good.
I walked into an alleyway and gave a beggar a golden coin.
"information on the whereabouts of the demon princess," I said.
the beggar looked around before leaning into my ear.
"she was last seen in a town not far from here, she seemed to like the human food and stayed in one of the towns near here," the man said.
"good. keep her entertained, and if she needs somewhere to go send her my way. it's the least I could do for her" I said before leaving.
I left without saying anything else, after all, spies need to work quickly and efficiently.
my next destination was the city next to our town. mainly for the auction that was soon to come.
I went to the auction house and I wasn't let in until I flashed my rank A adventures card.
I side I sat with my cloak covering my face and I watched the items go by without much care.
I mean sure there were interesting things like a crystal orb or the sword of sunlight.
none of this mattered since I couldn't use said weapons. however, something did catch my attention that no one bid on.
"10 gold," I said.
it was a dagger that inflicted poison and if given enough cuts it could even insta bleed an opponent.
however, the downside was that it was cursed. not just any curse but a curse that would make you mad as soon as you touched it.
"30 gold" a man's voice was heard.
I looked up and saw a chubby man playing with his beard. my glare was evident and I was damn near ready to jump at him and kill him.
"43 gold," I said.
that caused everyone to start muttering. the man looked at me with calculating eyes before he decided against it.
since no one bid on it, I won the dagger and paid for it immediately, and put it on my hip.
"Now for the last item it's a bit... special," the auctioneer said.
this got everyone excited, except me since the weapon they were going to show wasn't worth my time.
however contrary to my belief what they brought in wasn't a weapon... it was a child.
"Behold, a pureblood elf," the auctioneer said.
'fuck' I cursed.
for an elf to be in human territory like this would be a fucking death sentence. humans were naturally the ones who participated in slavery. and although they can't harm the slave in... "excessive" ways. there were other ways around this.
the bidders were now going crazy with the money they were spending. after all a pureblood elf's blood was worth far more than her price at this auction.
I looked at the shivering and terrified girl under me and after cursing I fucking sighed.
"9 platinum" I bid.
everyone paused. the last bid was 2 platinum, so jumping straight to 9 was unheard of.
seeing how I spent nine platinum without hesitation made the other participants lose confidence.
I bought the girl, paid upfront, and hid her in my cloak before leaving.
"come on child," I said.
the dragon that stayed on my shoulder just looked at me curiously before laying her head back down.
my cloak covered the girl to stop her from getting cold. I put my map on the table for her to see.
over her shivering, she pointed out a place that was the elven kingdom. a 23-day walk if we were lucky.
I took the girl to my house where my mother fawned over the girl. she continued to fawn over her before taking her to the bathroom to clean her up.
I sat drinking my coffee, and now that I was in casual clothes I didn't look too threatening.
my dagger and arm guard were placed on the table, easy to reach but out of place for the child.
I looked at my dragon friend before thinking of a name.
"Tiamat... that would be the perfect name for you," I said as I gently pet her.
'...that is a name befitting a great dragon like me' the dragon said proudly.
