Chapter 2 - Awkward Tutor Introduction

Sky's P.O.V

Brrrr. It's so cold this morning. I stopped by the convenience store to buy iced coffee. I buy iced coffee every day to warm up and drink it at noon. Weird, right?

I grabbed my all-time favorite iced coffee and headed to the counter to pay. I looked back to see if anyone was following me, thinking it might be Porsche again.

That damn girl.

There was no one behind me, and it looked like I was the only one in the store. I quickly left because I might be late again for tapping my ID at the gate.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed as I felt someone bump into me and hit my chin. Ah, a girl.

"Sorry, I'm in a hurry," she hurriedly said.

I looked at her uniform and saw that we both go to the same school—Ah, that Lindway Academy. The school that's all about fees. I've practically crawled through mud just to pay my tuition there!

"Hey, wait—" I heard her call, but I ignored her. She might be one of those creeps who suddenly look for me on my social media accounts and ask if I have a girlfriend.

------

"Sky! Weren't you looking for a side job? Well, I spoke with someone who's looking for guitar lessons for their child," Nina suddenly appeared next to me.

Nina is our class president. She's beautiful, intelligent, and talented. She's friendly to everyone. Almost close to perfection, but—nah! I don't want to have any crushes right now. I've been fooled by Nina before.

Ouch. Pain. Sorrow.

"Oh, really?" I replied unenthusiastically. I raised an eyebrow and scowled at her.

"M-Maybe you're interested. I also talked to the student's parents. We just need your permission," she continued.

"Wait. WHA-?! You introduced me right away and then you said I just need to agree?" I said in annoyance. Well, you really make decisions.

"Yes. They're waiting outside the classroom right now. So get some balls to face those parents. It's money, Sky!" she said, pulling me out of the classroom.

I faced the parents Nina was referring to. They seemed nice. They said it's 500 per session, thrice a week, and it should be at their house so their child can focus on school.

"You're Justin's third tutor. The previous ones couldn't that child. They were too careless, and not all of them were interested in music," Justin's mother explained. I'm musically inclined and know how to play the guitar. But why do they need a tutor for their child when there's YouTube for learning tutorials? Ugh! They just have nothing else to do with their money. But hey! It's still money.

"Don't worry, sir and ma'am. You can trust me. I'll make sure your child learns within a few weeks," I said. They should be confident in me. It's tough. They might even reduce their offered price.

"Okay. You'll meet Justin in the library later."

I nodded and went back to the classroom.

He's a boy. It won't be difficult for me to talk to him since he's a boy.

But no matter what I think, I have this feeling that I'll be teaching a child. It's really hard to study the guitar when so many people are watching you. They'll see your embarrassment.

--------

"Good morning, B-12. Meet your new classmate," Ms. Alonzo introduced. The new student entered the classroom and faced the class.

Wait. She's the one from the store earlier, right?

"Good morning, classmates. I am Luna Silvonne. Please be nice to me," she said and sat in the vacant seat next to me.

"Pssssssst!"

"Psst!"

"Hey!" my seatmate whispered.

I turned and gave her an annoyed look.

"Grumpy! You left this."

She handed me the guitar pick pendant. I quickly looked at the necklace I was wearing.

Damn. Oh yeah, it's mine.

I immediately took the guitar pick he was holding. I didn't realize that I had lost it due to my stress in the past few days.

"Don't you have a THANK YOU, big brother?" she said sarcastically.

"Where did you find this?" I asked. She just grinned and shrugged.

I didn't ask her again where she found it. I also didn't know where I left it.

Ms. Alonzo instructed me to tour and guide Luna around the school and stuff. Luna is an irregular student, so she only has a few subjects with us. Since I'm her assistant for her first day, I took her in and embraced her in all the groups I belong to in all the subjects. Ms. Alonzo said Luna is shy, that's why.

It doesn't seem like it.

------

—Recess time—

"Sky! Let's have recess together," Luna said.

"You go alone," I replied apathetically. I immediately turned away from her.

"Ms. Alonzo said—"

"Blah-blah. Fine," I cut her off. Luna's smile widened, and she quickly took money from her bag.

I saw her pink wallet.

Damn. Is she a billionaire's daughter or something?

"Are you bringing all that? A thousand each?" I asked in amazement. She just shook her head and took fifty. I thought she was going to show off in the canteen.

Cafeterian't, actually. Your food is gold, Lindway Academy, damn.

*Exclaims in Spanish*

I immediately took Luna to the cafeteria. I needed to go straight to the library. Justin might be waiting for me there.

I instructed Luna that if she couldn't find our classroom, she should just ask around. She agreed and wanted to explore the school alone.

I hope she gets lost.

----

I sat at the first table in the library where I could see anyone entering from the door. My guitar was placed on the table along with the chord books that I borrowed from the library.

I was waiting by the door, looking at it to see who would come in.

"Justin is taking so lon—"

"Hello, Sky. I was just looking for my tutor," Luna said with a smile, glancing around.

"The Math tutor?" I asked.

"Guitar lessons," she said.

What the fu—

"You're Justin?" I asked in astonishment. I approached him because my seatmate scolded me.

"Wait. Are you my tutor?!"

The librarian hit her on the head with a stick and kicked both of us out.

"You're making noise," the librarian said and closed the door.

"Maybe you're not him. Maybe it's a different Justin. I'll just wait for him here," I said, leaning against the wall.

"Okay. I'll just wait for my tutor here too. I thought it was you, though," she said sadly.

Ah. Shit. Maybe she really is Justin?

"Luna Justin Silvonne," she said with a smile.

Maybe it's him.

"So, you're Justin?" I said, laughing. She immediately gave me a glare and walked out.

"You just wait. You don't have any guitar lessons, JUSTIN. HAHAHAHAHAHA," I said, waving the book.
