Chapter 11 - Trial of The Golden Son

"I DON'T!!!"

But could he truly be mad? Could he really hate his own son? His flesh and blood? Isamu fell to his knees, tears streaming down his cheeks. His slight hesitation when the general questioned him—he was going to let Magnolia die for his selfish hatred...

Isamu looked back up at the god's eyes, dead ones meeting remorseful ones, and then he spoke, "How can I accept?"

Horus walked up to the crying human and reached out his hand, a beautiful golden radiance emanating from it.

"Accept my trial of truth, embrace it, my golden son. Walk out of my tomb of foolishness and re-enter my temple of wisdom. For if the light of the sun does not envelop your skin with warmth, you will be cast down into the endless line of sinners seeking forgiveness from the dead king."

Isamu rose to his feet and let the light embrace his figure. He then turned around to see two large, rusted metal doors. Slowly, he pushed them open and walked forward. Heat—heat was all he felt. He looked up, reached out toward the sun, and spoke his final words, "I will come for you!"

A man strolled down a long hallway at a leisurely pace. Upon reaching a door, he placed his hand on a security system to unlock it. The door slid open after recognizing his handprint, and he entered the room, illuminated only by a soft blue light.

Inside, the room featured a throne-like chair positioned in front of a round red table. The table was intricately carved with a depiction of a clash between godly beings. Surrounding the table were several other throne-like chairs, each with a unique design.

The man rested his arm on the back of the chair as white holograms flickered into existence, revealing individuals with various masks.

One of the holograms spoke, "I take it you have found yours?"

The man replied, "Yes... Now let the conflict begin."
