Chapter 55 - Humanity Part 1

Located just outside of Night City, the Badlands stand as a stark reminder of a bygone era. Once a bustling hub of civilization, it now lies abandoned, reduced to a barren wasteland littered with dilapidated buildings and rusted infrastructure. Yet despite the desolate landscape, our intrepid protagonist and their crew have come to this forsaken place on a mission of great importance. Riding atop Falco's trusty vehicle, they journeyed to a lookout point where they patiently awaited the arrival of their quarry: a convoy of Arasaka vehicles carrying a valuable cargo. With practiced precision, they readied themselves for a daring act of grand larceny.

(David) On comms, "The cargo's rolling into town from the East. We've got a whole truck to grab before it hits the city limits. This haul's worth half a mil, paid upfront. To be divided as per usual."

(Falco) On comms, "Holy moly. This job's a bona fide rep-maker, that's for sure."

(Rebecca) On comms, "Well, the target's a corporation, isn't it?" She scoffs, "A convoy like that, I think I know which one."

(Spider-Man) On comms, "I'm on top of a windmill. I can get the drop on these Arasaka vehicles."

(Falco) "I feel very relieved that Spider-Man is here with us."

(Kiwi) "Who wouldn't? Anyways, the security footprint on the convoy is peculiarly small. 'Saka is probably posting a limited crew to cast a short shadow, and keep a low profile. A strategy they'll revamp after today."

(Rebecca) "I don't know about that, chooms."

(David) "No need to overthink this. Smash, grab, deliver. It's what we do. Easy peasy. Biz as usual. Right, Karito?"

(Spider-Man) Leaps into another windmill. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get this over with. I forgot to eat, and I'm hungry."

(David) "How did you even forget to eat? You're always eating."

(Spider-Man) "I was busy."

(David) "Understandable."

(Kiwi) "..."

Flashback

(Faraday) "The cyberskeleton. Do you truly believe he can manage it?"

(Kiwi) "Well, Arasaka does, at least. After seeing his chemistry mesh so well with the Sandevistan. It's why Tanaka wanted David back at the Academy so badly. To use him as a lab rat for test runs."

(Faraday) "And the girl shredded David's file. She hoped Arasaka's plans for him would simply disappear."

(Kiwi) "That's how I see it. Frying Tanaka tied up a loose end."

(Faraday) "Hmm. So, Maine and Dorio were mere collateral damage in her scheme."

(Kiwi) "Sure. In hindsight."

(Faraday) "So much carnage for one so petite. I wonder. The Spider also helped her after finding out. How many have they killed to save this one punk? Or better yet, how many as the supposed 'Hero' of this city has killed."

Location Change.

Martin Lee's base

Lucy was hanged upside down on a rope in an unconscious state. Many of the henchmen from Mr. Negative entered and exit the room. The three that stayed were Faraday, Kiwi, and Mr. Negative himself that stared at Lucy's unconscious form.

(Kiwi) "After conducting a deeper investigation, we learned that she was once an Arasaka operative. The corporation groomed her as a child to mine data in the Old Net." Kiwi removes the fake skin from Lucy's head. "This explains how she's able to cut through Arasaka ICE as if it were nothing. If it wasn't for Spider-Man, she would have been dead."

(Faraday) Chuckles heartily. "It's simply too perfect. She'll be the cherry on top. Our guarantee is that Arasaka will welcome us with open arms. This girl is a fast-lane ticket up the corporate ladder!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "How predictable."

(Faraday) "Excuse me?"

(Mr. Negative) "What? You being a corporate climber? It's written all over your vibe."

(Faraday) "Listen, Mr. Lee. What are fixers if not glorified pet owners who keep their mercenary hounds well-fed? There is only one true measure of success in Night City, and that's one's standing in the corporate world. And to keep climbing, I'll need your continued support."

(Dark Mr. Negative) Bursts out laughing.

(Faraday) "...What's so funny, Mr. Lee?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "I'm sorry, it was just so hilarious. Watching you people talk about money and status as if it gives you any real power. But trust me, it doesn't. I know what true power is, and you all wouldn't even be able to comprehend it."

(Faraday) "If you know so much about power, then show us."

(Dark Mr. Negative) His eyes narrow as he takes a step closer to Faraday. "How dare you presume to question my knowledge and abilities, you insignificant human. You seem to have forgotten that we hold all the cards in this partnership. We are here to help you, but make no mistake, we are not your equals. Now, I suggest you watch your tongue and focus on your own tasks, or suffer the consequences." With a sudden burst of strength, he grabs Faraday by the throat and lifts him into the air, cutting off his breath. "You would do well to remember your place." He throws Faraday to the ground, his eyes locked in a fierce glare.

(Kiwi) Thoughts "Never trust a soul in the Night City." Sigh "The fools who make that mistake get burned."

...

Location, David's apartment

David lounged naked on his leather sofa, his eyes fixed on the flickering television screen before him. Lost in thought, he was barely aware of the passing minutes until the sudden intrusion of his ringing phone shattered his concentration. With a quick glance at the caller ID, he answered the call with a cool and collected demeanor, his voice betraying none of the lethargy that hung heavy over his form.

(David) On call "David, speaking."

(Faraday) On call "It's me. And I have a juicy job for you."

(David) He sighs while looking at the picture of his family. His mother and brother hug him on both sides while smiling at the camera

Location, Headquarters

(Rebecca) "Emergency meeting? What gives, choomba?"

(Karito) Enters the room "Okay who here is sus."

(Rebecca) "What?"

(Karito) "...Amogus..."

(David) "Anyways... Faraday came through for us. Score us our biggest gig yet. Huge risk, huge reward. Duck out now if ya don't wanna face that kinda heat."

(Falco) Shrugs

(Rebecca) Smirks

(Karito) "Hurry up, I'm hungry."

(David) Chuckles and turns to Kiwi "I'm counting on you too, Kiwi."

(Kiwi) "Sure."

(Karito) Glare "..."

(Rebecca) "C'mon! Granny and gramps here oughta ride the bench this round."

(Falco) "Think your little chicken legs will reach the pedals?"

(Rebecca) "Yo! Fair."

(Falco) "So, what's the plan?"

(David) "Security detail. Small but elite. Karito can easily take care of them and make them split their attention and manpower."

(Rebecca) "So he's gonna be a Decoy?"

(Kiwi) "Diversion aimed to give us an opening. With Karito, it's possible."

(Rebecca) "Oh, I see."

(Karito) "So I'm just gonna table flip a few cars and the truck will be separated. Nice."

Current time

(Spider-Man) "And here we... go." Drops

Spider-Man plummeted through the air, his lithe form hurtling towards the ground with astonishing speed. At the last moment, he charged his right arm with a seething power, coalescing a deadly Venom punch that crackled with electric energy. He took aim at the three heavily armed vehicles that lay ahead, his eyes locked on the designated target protecting them.

With a fierce cry, Spider-Man unleashed the full force of his attack, the Venom punch slamming into the first vehicle with a devastating impact that shattered the front end and ignited a fierce explosion. Propelled by the blast, the hero launched himself forward with the aid of a web shield, his skillful use of lateral repulsion sending him hurtling toward the next vehicle.

With a deft movement, Spider-Man landed on the roof of the car, his palm splayed out to absorb the energy coursing through the metal. With a sudden surge of power, he channeled the energy back into the vehicle, causing it to overload and explode in a shower of sparks and flames.

Spider-Man soared through the sky, the wind whipping through his hair as he launched two web lines toward the back of the third armored vehicle. He landed gracefully on the ground, his lithe form braced against the force of the pull as the vehicle jerked to a sudden halt, thrown off balance by the unexpected resistance.

Undeterred, the hero's arm blurred into a deadly blade, glinting in the light as he leaped into the air. With a swift and fluid movement, he sliced the vehicle cleanly in two, the metal groaning and buckling under the force of his attack. With a sudden explosion of sparks and flame, the vehicle erupted behind him, sending a shockwave of heat and force rippling through the air.

Spider-Man landed with a lithe grace on the ground, his body thrumming with adrenaline and satisfaction.

(Spider-Man) "There's three down and three more to go."

(Falco) On coms "Alright. Got 'em good and split up. What do we do?"

(Kiwi) "Target's gone off-road. We have the high ground."

(David) "Alright! Let's roll, Falco!"

(Falco) Turns on his car and drives beside David "Yeehaw!"

(Rebecca) "Giddyup, partner!" David quickly enters the car

Flashback

Headquarters

(Rebecca) "David... Karito! Engine's warm, snacks are packed." Enters a room where David was breathing heavily while Karito was wrapping immunoblockers around his little brother "What?! What's going on?!" Looks "Karito why are you wrapping David with... so many immunoblockers?"

(Karito) "Because he can barely contain his sanity. Don't worry... I have a plan. It's a risky one but it'll do."

(David) Grunts "Kari...grab mom's jacket."

(Karito) "Alright." Helps David put on the jacket

(Rebecca) Groans "Are you two crazy?! No! I'm calling the gig off!"

(Karito) "Becca. I got a favor to ask..."

(Rebecca) "N-No... You better knock it off." Very concerned

(Karito) "Becca. This is something I can ask you and ONLY you."

(Rebecca) Sighs "..."

(Karito) "Also, take this. Don't lose it, no matter what." Gives her a small golden statue

(Rebecca) "...The hell is this?"

(Karito) "You'll know when it activates. Just keep it on you at all times."

(Rebecca) "...So, what's your plan."

(Karito) "Simple... It goes like this..."

Current time

(Rebecca) Sigh

(David) Looks at Rebecca with a confused face "Rebecca?"

(Rebecca) Shouts "PUPPY DOG EYES?! Both ya'll brothers know I'm a sucker for 'em, didn't ya?! Fuck! I can't believe I agreed to Karito's plan! That shit sounds too bizarre to be true! Whatever. Just don't use your fucking Sandevistan. Your brother is already moody enough as it is. You hear me?!"

(David) "Okay, okay." Sighs

With the precision of a seasoned warrior, Falco and his gang barreled towards the three ominous Arasaka vehicles, their weapons at the ready. Rebecca, her hair whipping in the wind, deftly opened the roof of their own car, her fingers tightening around the trigger as she unleashed a barrage of bullets towards the heavily armored van that protected their target.

The air was thick with the sound of gunfire and the screech of tires as the Arasaka guards scrambled to respond, their weapons trained on the attackers. But Falco was undaunted, his iron will driving him forward as he slammed into the vehicles with a deafening crash.

The armored van spun out of control, its massive bulk skidding sideways as it tumbled over and over, and a fiery explosion erupts in its wake. Spider-Man, his venom blast at the ready, unleashed a devastating wave of energy, adding fuel to the already raging flames.

(Rebecca) "That's one done and gone!" Chuckles maniacally

(Falco) "Alright, we're tailgating the son of a bitch!"

(Kiwi) "I'll hack into its braking system."

(Falco) "Hold on. We got more on our ass! Spider-Man!"

(Spider-Man) "Yeah, I'm on it." Lands on the ground and stays there with his hands crossed

(Rebecca) "What the hell is your brother doing?"

(David) "Is he... doing that?"

(Rebecca) "Doing what?"

(David) "Well... if I remember it was about a movie of two alien kids and Dwayne Johnson... and..."

Spider-Man stood with unwavering focus as the imposing form of the Arasaka heavily armored car hurtled towards him at breakneck speed. He could hear the sharp crack of gunfire as the guards inside rained bullets upon him, but he deftly smacked them away with a flick of his wrist, his mind and body locked in a state of deadly concentration.

As the vehicle drew nearer, he remained steadfast, his eyes locked on its massive form. With a grace and poise that only a hero of his caliber could muster, he waited until the very last moment before leaping into action.

(Spider-Man) "Toxin, focus all energy on endurance."

(Toxin) "You really want to flex, THAT much?"

(Spider-Man) "Well, it's one way to better my mood for what's about to happen in the future."

(Toxin) Sigh "Fine..."

Toxin hardened the suit, the symbiotic substance coiling and weaving around Spider-Man's form, adding an extra layer of protection. The hero stood with his arms lowered, his gaze locked onto the incoming Arasaka vehicle. He balled his fists, preparing for the impact that was about to come.

As the car smashed into him, Spider-Man didn't budge an inch. The front of the vehicle crumpled and deformed against his reinforced form, the energy from the impact sending the car tumbling over him like a rag doll. The sound of metal groaning and twisting filled the air as the car went airborne, shards of twisted metal exploding out in all directions.

Spider-Man emerged from the debris unscathed, his expression smug with satisfaction. He had weathered the impact like a true champion, and the explosion behind him was like the triumphant chorus of his victory.

(Spider-Man) "Hehe... Groovy." Smirks

Rebecca sat stunned in Falco's car, her mouth agape, as she witnessed Spider-Man's impressive display of strength and endurance. Meanwhile, David, who was already familiar with his brother's superheroic abilities, simply shook his head and facepalmed. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he imagined his brother, Karito, adding this feat to his extensive list of superhero accomplishments, which he proudly displayed in his home office.

(Rebecca) "W-What the hell?!"

(David) Sigh "For some reason, I have a bad feeling about this."

(Spider-Man) Coms "I absolutely trashed the escort van."

(Rebecca) "No shit, we saw it."

(David) "Alright, c'mon! Punch the chooh." Gives Rebecca a C-4 "Becca, cargo truck's exposed. Plant the charge."

Rebecca deftly climbed onto the roof of Falco's car and, with practiced precision, flung the C-4 explosive towards the back of the truck. Spider-Man's eyes narrowed as he concentrated on his target, shooting out a symbiotic tendril from his hand towards a small point in the distance. The tendril hit the explosive with pinpoint accuracy, causing it to detonate in a fiery explosion that threatened to send Falco's car careening off course. However, the skilled driver was able to maintain control, navigating through the ensuing smoke and debris. In the chaos, Spider-Man utilized his lateral repulsion skill to deftly launch himself toward the top of Falco's car, landing with a swift grace.

(Spider-Man) Looks at their target "Damn, that truck is durable."

(Falco) "Not a scratch on that thing." Shock

(Kiwi) "ICE is just as thick. Can't crack it."

(Spider-Man) "Alright, I'll do it myself then."

(David) "Karito are you sure? I can-"

(Spider-Man) "Sit your ass down. I'll do it."

(David) Clicks his tongue "Fine."

Spider-Man gracefully dismounted from the car and landed with a soft thud on the top of the armored truck, his movements fluid and agile. As he made his way towards the front, he carefully observed the vehicle, taking in every detail with his keen spider-sense. As he peered into the driver's compartment, his brow furrowed in puzzlement at the sight before him - there was no driver, and the truck was operating on autopilot.

(Spider-Man) Coms "Guys, there's no driver."

(Falco) "What?!"

(David) "The hell?!"

(Spider-Man) "This thing's on autopilot!" Spider-sense "Tch... this is a fucking ambush."

...

Arasaka building

(Faraday) "Your plan is quite ingenious. I must say, I'm impressed. But how did you manage to stay one step ahead of Spider-Man? He's known for his quick thinking and agility."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Indeed, Spider-Man is a formidable opponent, but we knew his weaknesses. His foresight ability can only give him glimpses of the future, and even then, he may not fully understand what he sees. We used this to our advantage. We knew he would anticipate danger and act accordingly, which is why he's taking out the escort vehicles in hopes of uncovering the threat. Additionally, he's aware of Kiwi's betrayal, but he won't act recklessly. He's a careful strategist, willing to use any resources at his disposal, even if they're one-time use. We had to be equally careful and stay one step ahead, anticipating his every move."

(Faraday) "Is Spider-Man aware of the cyberskeleton?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Undoubtedly. If he wasn't, he would have used his influence over his brother to stop us. However, I suspect he has a plan in place to protect his brother's mental state during the procedure. It's possible he may even rely on his symbiote to help with this."

(Faraday) "Symbiote? I don't understand."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "It's a complex topic, one that requires a level of knowledge you do not possess." Thoughts "But if he's still going ahead with the procedure, despite the potential danger to his brother and the timeline, then he must have a plan in place. I wonder what his endgame is?" His phone rings "Yes, Mr. Osborn?... I'll let you know..." Hangs up "Time for some reality warping to occur."

...

(Kiwi) "Not good. Better stop it quick. Got a canyon up ahead."

(Spider-Man) "Yeah, I'll stop it alright."

Spider-Man surveyed the area, his sharp senses detecting any signs of a potential ambush. Once he was satisfied that they were alone, he focused his attention on stopping the truck. With quick and precise movements, he deftly webbed the wells of the truck, causing the webs to instantly harden and bring the vehicle to a sudden halt. The truck swayed dangerously to the side, but Spider-Man was swift to react, catching it in mid-air and easing it down gently onto the ground.

(Falco) "It's always impressive how Karito catches armored trucks like there are just trash bags."

(Rebecca) "So nova."

(David) "Being badass runs in the family."

...

Martin Lee's HQ

An airship of impressive stature and emblazoned with the Arasaka logo descended upon the designated landing area adjacent to Mr. Negative's base. The villainous mastermind cast a knowing glance at Faraday, whose visage was aglow with the unabashed delight of someone who had just been granted entry into a secret society of the wealthy and privileged. Faraday eagerly anticipated his forthcoming ascension into the upper echelons of society, and the luxuries and privileges that come with it.

(Faraday) Scoffed with a tinge of cynicism in his voice. "Such extravagance for the mere retrieval of a street urchin. It seems the wealthy live in a world of their own, blissfully detached from the harsh realities of the underprivileged." He turned to Mr. Negative with a sardonic grin. "I suppose this girl must be quite the valuable trinket for you all to go through such lengths."

(Dark Mr. Negative) Countered with a hint of condescension in his tone. "You misunderstand, Faraday. This flight is not for the girl, but for you. I will stay behind to attend to her."

(Faraday) Was taken aback, "I fail to comprehend the reason for such a move."

(Dark Mr. Negative) Retorted with a dismissive wave of his hand. "It is beyond your comprehension. Just board the airship and proceed with the plan."

(Faraday) Grudgingly complied with a derisive "Tch!".

(Dark Mr. Negative) Continued, his voice dripping with malice. "Our goal is to isolate the Guardian from the anime characters he is protecting. His loyalty to them is unwavering, as he will do anything to preserve the original storyline or make a 'good ending'. To corrupt this world completely, we must eliminate the Guardian. Hence, we need to separate him from his charges."

He paused for a moment before continuing. "Osborn instructed me to take Lucy, one of the survivors from the anime. However, if any harm comes to her, the entire timeline will be disrupted, and a dimension split will occur. The Guardian cannot allow that. Therefore, I will teleport a great distance from Night City, merge two dimensions, and force the Guardian to come to me to save Lucy and restore the timeline."

He paused again, his eyes glittering with a cruel gleam. "If the Guardian kills me, he will be too weak to protect the remaining anime characters, and they will perish at the hands of Green Goblin. Our victory will be assured, and this world will be ours. All we can do now is hope for a miracle doesn't befall the Guardian."

...

Spider-Man gazed at the immobilized truck, his countenance marred by a deepening frown. The current mission had him on edge, a gnawing tension that had been building steadily since Lucy's disappearance. His anxiety was nearly palpable, and he felt as though he were waiting for the other shoe to drop. His exhaustion didn't help matters either; he had spent the entire previous night scouring the city for the missing girl to no avail. He could only assume that the Green Goblin had taken her. He rubbed at his temples with a weary hand and exhaled a sigh of weariness. Beside him, David was frantically attempting to contact Lucy. Spider-Man knew that it was a fruitless endeavor, for he alone was aware of her kidnapping. It was a secret he kept from his brother, knowing all too well that divulging such information would inevitably lead to a reckless assault on Arasaka, a sure path to ruin. He took a deep breath, steeling himself with the knowledge that his plan was the only viable option.

(Falco) "No word? Lucy still quiet as a cooked cricket?"

(Spider-Man) "And how would you know that?"

(Falco) "The hell are you talking about, Karito? It was an exaggeration."

(Spider-Man) "Can't you tell that I was being sarcastic?"

(Falco) "With you, I can't tell if you are extremely smart or extremely stupid."

(Spider-Man) "Can't let them know your next move." Slaps Falco gently

(Falco)" WHAT THE FUCK?!"

(Spider-Man) "Danny Phantom~." Disappears

(Falco) "This fucking, asshole."

(Rebecca) "Stop fucking around you two! What do we do? How's another runner supposed to help us out of this mess anyway? Gonna pay her from your cut, I hope!"

(David) Gives up on calling Lucy "Fuck it... Karito brute force your way in the truck."

(Spider-Man) "Bet."

Spider-Man's countenance soured as he dug his calloused hands into the minute aperture between the rear doors of the truck. He employed a smidge of brawn, prompting the heavily fortified vehicle to emit a cacophonous groan. A glimmer of apprehension flickered across his eyes as he utilized his proficiency in hacking, cautious not to trigger any booby-traps that may have been set. With a resounding grunt, he exerted a burst of strength and ripped the back doors asunder.

(Kiwi) Impressed "Damn..."

(Falco) "Indeed... Though, dunno 'bout this... Don't sit right with me the way the truck was unmanned. We damn sure it's Arasaka?"

(Kiwi) "If you're so scared just grab the cargo and ghost. In and out."

(Falco) "I'm considering it."

(Rebecca) "Your yapping is killing me literally. Let's hurry and leave."

(Spider-Man) "Hmm..."

(Falco) Sigh "You know, didn't really occur to me when e first took the gig, but wide-open as it is out here, why, we'd be fish in the barrel if someone got the jump. That is if they send a superhuman at us."

(Rebecca) "Jesus old man, a nervous fart like you doesn't deserve that cowboy 'stache. Acting like a little bitch."

(Falco) Chuckles "Bet you'd go weak in the knees if I shaved it off."

(Rebecca) "Ew! Gonna kick it off. I'm only interested in Karito."Attempts to kick Falco but he smoothly dodges them "Stop wriggling. I'm tryna get ya!"

(Spider-Man) "Guys we got company."

(Falco) "Shit. I thought you took care of the decoys?"

(Spider-Man) "Nah, they sent more... Hold on... Oh, fuck..."

Spider-Man's heightened spider-sense detected a massive army of Arasaka troops swiftly approaching them. The ground beneath them shook with the thunderous approach of tanks, mounted 50 Cal machine guns, and an array of heavy artillery. The sheer size of the enemy force left everyone in a state of shock. Spider-Man couldn't help but recall the visions he had seen of this dimension, and the army before them was five times larger than its original counterpart. He couldn't deny that his presence in this world had triggered such a reaction. A small sigh escaped him, knowing that he would have to deal with the entire army until David's cyberskeleton upgrade was complete.

(Falco) "A Basilisk?! And a missile carrier?!"

(Rebecca) "Y-You're shitting me... right?"

(David) "It's Militech!"

Spider-Man's eyes widened as he saw the deadly weapons aimed in their direction. Without hesitation, he sprung into action, launching multiple tendrils toward the incoming missiles. The air was filled with the thunderous sound of explosions as the missiles detonated in midair, their deadly payloads neutralized by Spider-Man's quick reflexes. As the dust cleared, he caught sight of the hulking bullet shell hurtling towards him, its trajectory set to cause maximum destruction. In a daring display of acrobatics, Spider-Man caught the shell with his webs, and with a swift spin, he changed its trajectory, redirecting it towards the Basilisk that had fired it. The explosion was cataclysmic, the force of it sending shockwaves rippling through the surrounding area. Spider-Man breathed a sigh of relief as he landed on the ground, his spider-sense still tingling with the remnants of danger that surrounded them.

(Rebecca) "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! Why are we getting steamrolled by Militech?!"

Rebecca's inquiry about why Militech had mobilized such a formidable military force against them was cut short as the soldiers opened fire without any warning or provocation. Spider-Man sprang into action, using his symbiotic abilities to conjure a sizeable shield to protect the group from the onslaught of bullets raining down on them.

(Spider-Man) "Faraday has set us up! Go inside the truck and do whatever needs to be done! I'll distract them."

(David) "But Karito-"

(Spider-Man) "GO!"

The group scurried into the safety of the truck, leaving Spider-Man to face the imposing army alone. With a determined expression on his face, he firmly shut the broken doors and proceeded to use Kaine's touch to repair them to the best of his ability. He couldn't help but let out a deep sigh, as he knew what was coming next. It wasn't the first time he was facing an entire army by himself, and it probably wouldn't be the last. Nevertheless, he remained unfazed, his body crackling with electrifying energy as his lenses illuminated a striking blue hue, signaling his readiness for the inevitable battle.

(Spider-Man) "I feel pity for you all! Ya'll should have brought more!"

With a sudden jolt of power, Spider-Man's body erupted forward, causing the ground to quake with the force of his movement. He was a blur of red and blue as he shot towards the army with such speed that the air around him seemed to ripple and distort. The sound of his approach was like a deafening thunderclap that rattled the soldiers' eardrums and sent shivers down their spines. His eyes blazed with a fierce determination, and his fists crackled with raw, unbridled electricity, ready to strike down anyone foolish enough to stand in his way. As he closed in on the army, his presence alone seemed to send a message: that he was not to be trifled with, and that anyone who dared to challenge him would meet a swift and brutal end.

...

Inside the Arasaka Truck

The truck's interior was an intricate web of cutting-edge technology, replete with a labyrinthine array of sophisticated consoles and computers that sent shockwaves of amazement through the group. Their eyes widened in awe as they beheld the mysterious object at the other end of the truck, hooked up to a network of tubes that glowed with an otherworldly intensity. The sheer spectacle of the scene left them speechless, struggling to comprehend the implications of what lay before them.

(Falco) "What in seven hells?"

(David) "So, this the thing that Faraday had Maine lookin' all over for?"

(Rebecca) "Guess so, but anyone know what the hell it is?"

(Kiwi) "A cyberskeleton. Military-grade implant."

(Rebecca) "Military? Wait... So like David's Sandevistan?"

(Kiwi) "Several degrees more advanced. But yeah, sure."

(Falco) "Hey, now. That Sandevistan of his ain't nothin' to sneeze at, either."

(David) "Never ever heard of tech like this."

(Kiwi) "Believe me or don't. Far as I know, Arasaka thinks they can overtake Militech's Market share in the arms trade. With this in mass production. They kept its development hush-hush. Like, very. Most of the info they isolated and concentrated under Tanaka. I'd say that's how Faraday got his Militech contract, to begin with. Promised to snatch the prototype, setting Arasaka back years."

Kiwi's explanation was about to continue when David's attention was abruptly diverted by the sound of a familiar ringtone emanating from his holographic ID. Upon checking the caller's details, David gasped as he beheld the name of the caller, none other than Lucy.

(Falco) "David?"

(David) "Lucy. She's calling."

(Rebecca) "HUUUHHH?! Now's seriously not the time! Your brother is outside fighting an army!"

(David) Picks up the call

(L$&y) On Call "David!"

(David) "Lucy! Where the hell have you-"

(L*#y) "The cyberskeleton. Step into it."

(David) "Huh?"

(!U9y) "No time. You have to help, Spider-Man."

(David) "How could you know? Where are you?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Hah! How amusing! I can barely contain my mirth. As you may have already deduced, I possess the one who makes your heart flutter in my grasp."

(David) "Who are you? Release her at once!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Tsk tsk, my dear protagonist. That's no way to speak to someone who holds your beloved's fate in his hands."

(David) "What do you want? Speak plainly!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Oh, it's simple really. Get on the cyberskeleton and aid your brother in his struggle against the army. Militech will continue to send reinforcements indefinitely unless you take action. Your brother won't be able to hold out forever. But fear not, for with the power of that technology, you can be just as formidable as him. Don't see this as a threat, my dear David. See it as an opportunity to be a hero, to save your brother, and to equal Spider-Man. The decision is yours, David. But I suggest you make it swiftly, lest your brother and everyone else's demise becomes inevitable." Hangs up

David's thoughts swirled and churned like a tumultuous sea, as he was besieged by memories of past losses and near-misses. His mind was a battleground, with the enemy's words echoing like a sinister symphony, striking every nerve and triggering every fear. He was visibly trembling, his palms slick with nervous sweat, as if the enemy had found some way to infiltrate his very soul. The insidiousness of Mr. Negative's words left him feeling vulnerable and exposed, and he struggled to maintain his composure in the face of such relentless psychological warfare.

(Falco) "What happened?!"

(David) "T-The cyberskeleton. I gotta use it or we're all gonna die..."

(Rebecca) "Huuuhh? But Karito is out there, we'll be fine!"

(David) "...The army won't stop until I intervene. That... thing said so..."

(Rebecca) "What thing?"

(David) "I-It's one of those superhuman that Karito faces... but this one... he's a lot more cunning and has major influence over Night City... I don't know why... but... just by talking to him... I feel... like my soul was being toyed with..."

(Falco) "The hell?"

(David) "I-I got no choice. I'm gonna have to chip it."

(Kiwi) "The whole truck's a mobile installation unit. Here." Passes her tablet to David "Deck's got the install sequence primed and ready."

(Rebecca) "No fucking way you're chipping that fucking thing!!!"

(David) "I'M NOT GOING TO LET MY BROTHER DIE! NOT WHEN I CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!"

(Rebecca) "Are you whacked?! It's Karito, he'll make it! You don't even have the slightest idea how the mystery chrome works or what it could do to you!"

(David) "NO, HE WON'T! HE'S MY ONLY FAMILY! MY ONLY BROTHER!" Walks closer to the cyberskeleton "We don't have a choice... Karito has protected me for so long and I just let it happen... But this time... We are going to protect each other... as equals."

(Rebecca) "David, don't do it or I'll knock you the fuck out!"

(Kiwi) "I'm gonna go grab our ride while Karito distracts the army." Sneakily exits the truck

(Falco) "I'll go with you." Follows

(David) "Good luck!" Looks at the tablet "Last time I went and installed something that wasn't mine, Maine almost kicked the shit out of me." Sad smiles and takes off his jacket "Didn't learn my lesson."

(Rebecca) "Don't do it! Stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it!!" Shouts at David angrily and runs towards him but it's too late he already placed himself in the cyberskeleton "YOU FUCKING GONK! Told you not to!"

As soon as David submitted himself to the Cyberskeleton's grip, its clutches sank into his flesh, eliciting an anguished scream from him. In spite of the searing pain, David's awareness was heightened as the installation process began, and the Cyberskeleton's impressive cyberware capacity was projected in holographic form before him and his companion, Rebecca.

...

Spider-Man's eyes narrowed as he surveyed the battlefield. The scent of blood and burning metal filled his nostrils, the sound of screams and explosions ringing in his ears. Militech had brought out all of their heavy artillery, their tanks, and missile carriers standing as monolithic behemoths amidst the chaos. But Spider-Man was not deterred. He moved with a deadly grace, his symbiote suit molding to his every motion.

He leaped into the fray, his tendrils snaking out to grab an unsuspecting soldier and fling him towards a group of his comrades. The soldier crashed into them with a sickening thud, sending them all tumbling to the ground in a heap. A tank loomed ahead of him, its massive turret swiveling to take aim at the hero. Spider-Man's fingers curled into fists as he charged towards it, his symbiote suit flaring with energy.

He planted his feet and unleashed a venom blast that tore through the tank's armor like tissue paper. The tank exploded in a shower of metal and flames, the shockwave knocking nearby soldiers off their feet. As Spider-Man landed, he felt the ground tremble beneath him. A missile was headed his way, its trajectory set for his position. He leaped into the air, his body contorting in mid-flight as he used his lateral repulsion to dodge the missile's impact.

It detonated in a shower of fire and smoke, a nearby tank taking the brunt of the blast and exploding into a fiery inferno. The Militech soldiers were like ants beneath his feet, their weapons useless against him. Spider-Man waded into their ranks, his fists and tendrils tearing through their ranks with savage fury. He grabbed a car and hurled it at a group of soldiers, the impact sending them flying like rag dolls.

His arm transformed into a vicious whip, lashing out to grab a vehicle that carried a 50-Cal. He crushed it in his grip with a sickening crunch, the metal groaning and twisting beneath his strength. The fighting was brutal, the sound of flesh and bone being shattered echoing through the air. Spider-Man moved with a cold, calculating efficiency, his body a blur of motion as he took down his enemies one by one. But then, something unexpected happened. A bullet pierced his skin, the impact sending him reeling. He gritted his teeth, his body convulsing with pain as his symbiote suit worked to expel the foreign object. It clattered to the ground, a small piece of Darkastine glinting in the light. Spider-Man's eyes blazed with fury. Militech had crossed a line, and he was not about to let them get away with it.

He charged towards a group of soldiers, his tendrils flailing out to smash into them with deadly force. The soldiers went down in a heap, their bodies broken and twisted. Spider-Man wasn't finished yet. He grabbed a tank, lifting it up with incredible strength, and used it as a makeshift weapon. He brought it crashing down onto another tank, the impact sending shockwaves through the ground. Soldiers scattered like ants, their bodies torn apart by the force of the blow. The fight raged on, the air thick with the stench of death and destruction.

(Spider-Man) "There's no fucking end to them!" Clicks his tongue and gets hit by another bullet "NGH! BITCH!"

As the electric energy surged through his veins, Spider-Man transformed into a blur of lightning, zigzagging through the battlefield with superhuman speed and agility. In a flurry of explosive punches and kicks, he decimated the ranks of Militech soldiers, sending their bodies flying like ragdolls with bone-crushing force. His spider-sense tingled as he narrowly dodged a tank shell that whizzed past his ear, sending a shockwave through the air that threatened to knock him off balance.

With a sharp turn of his head, Spider-Man locked onto the source of the attack and unleashed a primal roar that echoed through the battlefield. Bolts of crackling energy shot out from his fingertips, arcing toward the tank and engulfing it in a searing inferno of venomous fury. The explosion ripped through the air, sending a shockwave that knocked back the surrounding soldiers and left a smoldering crater in its wake.

Through the haze of dust and smoke, Spider-Man's imposing figure emerged, wreathed in a dazzling aura of electrical power that crackled and sparked around him like a protective shield. With a fierce determination etched on his face, he charged forward once more, his feet slamming into the ground with earth-shaking force as he hurtled toward the Militech forces.

As he closed in on his foes, Spider-Man's body twisted and contorted in midair, his arms and legs lashing out with deadly precision to strike down his enemies with lethal efficiency. The air filled with the sound of his thunderous blows, as he pummeled his opponents into submission with a combination of raw strength and blinding speed.

...

Kiwi and Falco observed in astonishment as their comrade, Spider-Man, single-handedly decimated the never-ending Militech army with no signs of exhaustion. Despite being shot multiple times, he appeared unfazed, swiftly healing himself thanks to the capabilities of his suit. The duo was momentarily entranced by the spectacular display of power, but they soon regained their focus and remembered the reason they had left the truck and approached the car.

However, as Falco was about to open the car door, Kiwi's expression contorted into one of inner turmoil. She quickly accessed Falco's cybernetics and, with a heavy heart, rendered him unconscious. Though her actions were regrettable, she knew that it was a necessary measure to prevent Falco from jeopardizing her mission.

(Kiwi) Calls Faraday "Made good on my end. I'm outta here."

(Faraday) "Excellent work. Militech's expecting you. You're free to pass. Meet me at the rendezvous point." Hangs up and calls Mr. Negative "Sir, it's almost done."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Good. Time for this story to take a... small detour in a few minutes."

Lucy hit the ground hard, her body slamming into the rough concrete with a sickening thud. She groaned in pain as she struggled to push herself up, her limbs feeling heavy and unresponsive. Mr. Negative loomed over her, his twisted features contorted in a menacing snarl as he reached down and grabbed her by the collar of her shirt. With a brutal jerk, he tossed her across the room, sending her careening into the corner of the old warehouse.

Gasping for breath, Lucy slowly picked herself up off the ground, her eyes darting around the unfamiliar surroundings. The musty scent of old wood and rusted metal filled her nostrils, and she could feel the cool dampness of the concrete floor seeping through her clothes. She clutched at her aching ribs, trying to quell the sharp pain that shot through her with each breath.

Mr. Negative approached her slowly, his dark aura pulsing with an otherworldly energy that sent shivers down Lucy's spine. She had never seen anything like it before, and the fear that gripped her only served to make her more vulnerable. As he reached down to grab her once again, Lucy knew that she was in for the fight of her life.

(Dark Mr. Negative) He towered over Lucy, a menacing shadow in the dimly lit room. His voice was low and filled with malice as he spoke. "Don't worry, doll. I'm not going to hurt you...yet."

(Lucy) Her voice quivered with fear as she asked, "What the hell do you want?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "From you? Nothing, my dear," Dark Mr. Negative replied smoothly, "You're just bait for a much bigger fish once I announce where you are."

(Lucy) Her confusion was evident on her face as she asked, "What are you talking about?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) With a cruel smile, he sneered, "This is why I hate dealing with humans. They are so stupid. I'm talking about Spider-Man, your boyfriend's brother."

(Lucy) She scoffed, "Ha! Good luck, he'll kick your ass!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) His eyes glinted with amusement, "Confident, are we now? This place is my territory. You know, when a god is on their own turf, they are at their strongest, right? And Spider-Man? Hehehe, he'll need a miracle if he wants to kill me."

(Lucy) Her eyes widened in disbelief as she retorted, "You think you're some kind of god? That's laughable!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) With a menacing gesture, he poked her forehead and said, "Let's see if you can even handle 0.1% of my power."

Lucy's face twisted in terror and unbearable agony, her body wracked with pain as she gasped for air. She was trapped in a twisted reality, one where she bore witness to the countless atrocities Mr. Negative had committed in his quest for power. His evil, palpable and all-consuming, felt like a weight pressing down on her chest, crushing her lungs. As she struggled to keep her mind from fracturing, she realized that the pain he inflicted was nothing compared to the torment he had endured to gain such power.

It was as if her mind was being torn apart, her thoughts and emotions flung into a blender and whirled into a maelstrom of terror. Through it all, she remained conscious, as if by some twisted mercy, her body was kept alive through the entire ordeal. But even as she begged for release, for an end to the agony, she knew that only one second had passed... and there was still so much more suffering to come.

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Your quivering body betrays you, my dear. Such weakness in the face of mere suggestion... Pathetic. And yet, you dare to defy me? Your insolence will be your undoing. You cling to hope, to the possibility that your beloved Spider-Man will triumph over me. But I tell you, I am not so easily defeated. I revel in the destruction of this world, and you shall have the misfortune of bearing witness to every moment of it. Your futile struggle is but a minor obstacle in my grand design, and I will crush it with ease. Your destiny is to kneel before me, to worship me as the god I am. Resistance is futile, for I have already won. HAHAHAHA!"

Mr. Negative's eyes narrowed as he pivoted towards the holographic camera, a twisted smirk contorting his face. His demeanor oozed with malevolence, and his every movement was accompanied by a cold, calculated elegance. As he locked eyes with the camera, his gaze seemed to pierce through the digital screen, as if he was staring straight into the souls of those who were watching. The subtle flicker of the camera's light reflected off of his jet-black suit, highlighting every crevice and contour of his form. With the confidence of a predator, he raised his hand and beckoned to the lens, almost inviting those who were watching to witness the mayhem that he was about to unleash upon the world.

(Dark Mr. Negative) His tone was laced with venomous amusement as he spoke into the camera, his eyes glinting with dark delight. "Ah, David. Do you see what I've done here? Your sweet little Lucy is in my clutches, and soon enough your dear brother will come running to try and save her. But I'm afraid it will all be for naught." He leaned closer to the camera, his face twisted into a twisted grin. "Because even if he does show up, he won't stand a chance against me. And if he fails, what makes you think you can succeed? You're nothing, David. Just a helpless pawn in my game. So go ahead, and pray to your precious brother for victory. It won't do you any good in the end. HAHAHAHAHA!"

...

(David) "YOU MOTHER FUCKER! GET AWAY FROM LUCY! GRAAAAHH!!!"

(David) "MR. NEGATIVE!!!"

The interior of the truck became bathed in a menacing red glow as the shrill sound of an alarm pierced through the air. Rebecca's eyes darted nervously between the readouts on the console before her, revealing the devastating truth: David's consciousness was rapidly deteriorating.

(Rebecca) "You're degenerating rapidly!" Anxious "At this rate, you're gonna go psycho any second!"

(Dark Mr. Negative) Inside David's mind, his voice dripped with a venomous mix of malice and taunting. "More Elite Militech forces are closing in on your brother as we speak. What are you going to do, David? Risk everything to save him, and then come after me? I wouldn't advise it. You may think you're special, but your cyberskeleton won't make you a match for me or my associates. And as for Spider-Man...well, he may have a plan, or he may not. Either way, it won't matter in the end. So, David, what will it be? Life or death? Victory or defeat? The choice is yours, but I must warn you, whatever you choose, it will be your last." Psychotic laugh

(David) Starts to glitch "I'M-I'M G-GONNA RIP OUT H-HIS SP-SPINE!!! Rebecca moved with unwavering determination, fully aware of the gravity of the situation at hand. She carefully administered the immunoblocker into David's chest, a calculated move that proved to be effective as the frenzied state of his mind slowly dissipated into a more composed state. The urgency of the situation left no room for hesitation, and Rebecca's decisive actions undoubtedly proved to be the key to ensuring David's mental stability.

(Rebecca) "Back to normal?"

(David) "Lucy. I gotta ask Karito to save her."

(Rebecca) Sighs "No, guess not. Sounds like your brains fried."

(David) "Faraday double-crossed the crew and apparently new supervillains are after us, specially Karito. One of the is called Mr. Negative and he's got Lucy with him now."

(Rebecca) "Lucy? What do you mean? And more supervillains? What's with everyone having an obsession with you two?"

(David) "THAT MOTHERFUCKER! KARITO'S GOTTA BLOW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF!!! TEAR HIS FUCKING GUTS OUT AND SHOVE 'EM DOWN HIS THROAT!"

(Rebecca) Worried "Oh no..."

Rebecca's attention was drawn to the open back door of the truck, revealing a sight of Falco's weakened figure. Struggling to stand upright, the fighter's physical condition appeared to be in peril. Without wasting a moment, Rebecca sprang into action, hastening towards her comrade to offer him much-needed.

(Rebecca) Looks at Falco's weakened state "Falco! What happened?"

(Falco) "Kiwi happened..."

(Rebecca) "Huuuhhh?"

(Falco) "She led us right into this trap... If Karito didn't save me and thrown me in here, I would've been dead."

(Kiwi) "That old ha's mixed up in this too?! She's a fucking flatline when I see her next!"

As the truck rattled ferociously, Rebecca and Falco braced themselves for impact, the force of the explosion slamming into them like a battering ram. The deafening sound filled their ears, leaving a constant ringing that echoed through the now-ruined landscape. Despite their apprehension for their own safety, their thoughts were consumed by Spider-Man's relentless battle, their concern for his well-being mounting with each passing moment of unrelenting combat.

(Rebecca) "Dammit! I don't know if I should worry about Karito or us! Militech needs to chill!"

The air was filled with a deafening explosion as a missile collided with the truck, throwing it into a frenzy of chaos. The acrid stench of smoke filled their lungs, suffocating and blinding them as they stumbled and fumbled, trying to escape.

...

Spider-Man's gaze fixated on the truck, his mind racing with concern as he failed to redirect the incoming missile. Despite this, he clung onto a glimmer of hope, praying that David had managed to activate the Cyberskeleton in time. Straining his eyes, he peered through the thick smoke that engulfed the area, scanning for any sign of life. Suddenly, he caught sight of a colossal heat signature amidst the haze, and a feeling of relief washed over him as he realized it was David, now towering over the scene in his enhanced form. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as he muttered to himself, "Finally, he's here."

(Spider-Man) "Oi, David. You took your sweet damn time putting on that Gundam."

(David) "Yeah, yeah. Here goes nothing."

David, now augmented with a towering black robotic arm and legs, moved with remarkable speed and precision, launching himself towards the army with the powerful thrusters in his suit. He caught a group of soldiers off guard as he appeared behind them, brandishing his giant mechanical arms. With his magnetic abilities, he drew all their weapons towards him, expertly wielding them to decimate the entire group with deadly accuracy.

Activating his Sandevistan, David became a blur of movement, flipping cars into the air and causing explosions in his wake. His immense size and newfound agility made him nearly unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with.

However, the enemy was not content to sit idly by. Two Militech trucks collided with one another in a desperate attempt to take down the augmented man. But David was too quick for them, flying into the air with the aid of his Sandevistan and gravity field.

As the trucks crashed into the ground around him, David aimed both of his massive hands toward them, causing a red circle to form around the vehicles. In one swift motion, he crushed the ground beneath them, reducing the trucks to mere pancakes.

(Spider-Man) "Gravity fields, magnetic force... pretty sweet abilities. Unfortunately, he can't withstand the strain on his nervous system. The Immunoblockers should kick in..."

As anticipated by Spider-Man, the advanced power suit administered immunoblockers into David's bloodstream, effectively stabilizing his mental state and restoring his clarity of mind. He vomited blood during the process and breathed heavily out of exhaustion.

The Spider sensed the approaching danger and knew he couldn't let his brother fight alone against the ruthless Militech army. With a swift use of his lateral repulsion, he propelled himself skyward, webbing his way towards the incoming rockets. His expertly crafted maneuvers allowed him to redirect the deadly projectiles, ensuring that they hit their intended targets- the tanks and missile carriers. The resulting explosions lit up the sky, casting an ominous glow over the battlefield.

David followed his brother's lead, using his sandevistan to move at lightning speed, effortlessly weaving his way through the enemy ranks. With his giant robotic limbs, he smashed through tanks and sent soldiers flying with ease. The sheer ferocity of his attacks left nothing but destruction in his wake, turning the battlefield into a wasteland of metal and debris.

Together, the brothers were a force to be reckoned with, tearing through the enemy lines like a hurricane. With each passing moment, their movements became more fluid and coordinated, their attacks more precise and devastating. The Militech army stood no chance against the unstoppable duo, who showed no mercy as they brought absolute carnage to the battlefield.

(Spider-Man) "Fucking finally, it's over. It seems that the requirement for them to stop spawning was for you to come."

(David) "So I was told."

(Spider-Man) "Get the others... And proceed with the plan."

David acquiesced to his brother's command and headed towards the truck, where Rebecca and Falco were taking cover, after the miraculous survival of the vehicle. He signaled to them by knocking twice on the back of the truck, and they hesitantly peeked out, witnessing the massive devastation that had accumulated since Spider-Man commenced fighting. It was an unparalleled war zone, littered with rubble and wreckage. Falco couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of awe and admiration for the sheer power and strength that these two brothers possessed, capable of unleashing such unbridled chaos.

(David) "Faraday's gonna regret playing us like dogs. And those supervillains won't ever see the light of day. This is war... Arasaka and Farday... are going down. Tonight."

(Rebecca) "B-But David, that's insane!"

(David) "Maine said everyone gets a fair shake."

(Rebecca & Falco) Gasped

(David) "That's the only way the Martinez brothers operate."

(Rebecca) Snicker mischievously "Sign me up, choomba. Into the fire."

Spider-Man approached the group with a solemn air, his countenance reflecting his grave demeanor. As he began to speak, the gravity of his words was palpable.

(Spider-Man) "Gather around, team. The moment we've all been waiting for is upon us. We are facing some of the most dangerous villains this city has ever seen, but fear not. We have a plan, and we will execute it flawlessly. David, you've done a remarkable job with the suit. Phase one is complete, and now it's time for the real challenge."

(David) "What's the plan, Karito? You said you would share it if we got this far."

(Spider-Man) "Indeed, and now is the time. Our enemies are expecting us, so we must proceed with caution. I have carefully crafted a strategy that involves splitting up. While you and the team raid the Arasaka tower, I will go after Mr. Negative and rescue Lucy."

(Rebecca) "Why are you going alone? It seems risky."

(Spider-Man) "I understand your concerns, but I am the only one who knows where Mr. Negative is. Besides, we cannot risk being detected. These villains have resources and connections, and they will stop at nothing to eliminate us. We have to act quickly and decisively."

(Falco) "This all sounds a bit crazy, but I trust your judgment, Karito."

(Spider-Man) "Thank you, Falco. Now, let's talk about our communication. Our enemies have the means to monitor our conversations, so we cannot rely on traditional methods. Instead, I have developed a system called 'Game Chat.' It allows us to communicate telepathically, just like in a video game."

(Rebecca) "Wait, this is all starting to feel like a video game. What's going on?"

(Spider-Man) "You're not wrong, Rebecca. I've adapted this system from my experience in gaming. It allows us to share items and resources seamlessly. Just think about what you need, and I'll send it to you as quickly as possible. And don't worry about running out of ammo or weapons. I'll provide whatever we need."

(Falco) "Unlimited ammo and weapons? That's insane!"

(Spider-Man) "It's necessary if we want to succeed. Remember, we only have one shot at this. We need to eliminate our targets and disappear without a trace. That's why we're using a shared inventory system. Just think about what you need, and it will appear before you. It's that simple."

(David) "I'm ready, Karito. Let's do this."

(Spider-Man) "Excellent. Remember, stay focused and stay alert. Our enemies are formidable, but we are stronger. Now, let's get in the car and make our move."

As the group made their way towards Falco's car, Spider-Man swiftly moved to the side, pulling David along with him to engage in a brief but crucial conversation in private.

(Spider-Man) "David, I know this mission isn't going to be a walk in the park. If things get too hot, don't hesitate to request my suit."

(David) "Your suit? Why would I need that?"

(Spider-Man) "Because, little bro, my suit is more than just a piece of clothing. It's alive, it's sentient. It'll take some getting used to, but once it bonds with you, it'll be a game-changer. Just trust me on this one, okay?"

(David) "But what if something happens to you?"

(Spider-Man) "I'll be fine, don't worry about me. I just want you to have all the help you can get, and my suit will give you an edge."

(David) "Okay, I understand."

(Spider-Man) "That's my boy. And hey, remember, I'm always here for you. Love you, little giant."

(David) Chuckles "Love you too, big bro. See you on the other side."

Spider-Man watched as the trio made their way out of the area, leaving him alone to his thoughts. A deep sigh escaped him as he lifted his gaze to the sky, only to witness it glitching in and out of existence. The ground beneath his feet flickered from sand to concrete and back again, unsettling him. As the truth dawned on him, a scowl formed on his face, realizing that the Darks were attempting to merge two realities into one, causing a dangerous distortion. The ramifications of such an act would be catastrophic, potentially leading to the destruction of the dimension and a violent Big Bang that would fuse two worlds together forcibly. The thought was enough to send chills down his spine. The consequences of such an occurrence would be dire; everyone he knew and loved from the Cyberpunk 2077 dimension would either vanish into nothingness or be forcibly merged with another person, losing their individuality in the process. He couldn't allow that to happen; he had to stop the merging process at all costs.

(Spider-Man) "As if my plate wasn't already overflowing with saving Lucy, now I'm burdened with the task of preventing two dimensions from merging. How frustrating..."

Spider-Man let out a deep sigh of frustration, his mind racing as he tried to come up with a solution to the complex problems that lay ahead. With a deft flick of his wrist, he activated his highly-honed hacking skills. A shimmering portal coalesced before him, its pulsating glow casting strange shadows on the surrounding area. Through the portal lay the location of Mr. Negative, an elusive villain whose whereabouts had been a mystery until now. Spider-Man knew that he must act quickly, for time was running out and the stakes were higher than ever before. With a determined expression etched onto his face, he stepped boldly into the portal, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

(Spider-Man) "Well, fuck it. Here goes nothing." Enters the portal
