"Find them", a soldier's voice came from outside breaking their rest. Pointing towards a window, "Let's escape through that window",, Sam and Rose jumped from the window. Outside was a big courtyard and crossing it they entered the other building.
They entered a room at the end of the corridor and it turned out to be a library. Inside their was a table with candles burning and few books scattered. "World history huh", picking an open book and reading its title he had the urge to read the book.
{ What should we do now? }, Rose asked.
"Let's look around and see if there is a book describing this place. We can use any kind of map now", with this they started searching through the shelves. The shelves were filled with many books and even though they were marked with subjects many books were randomly placed making their search harder.
Behind one shelf a shadow could be seen watching their actions. "Whoever uses this place must be an idiot", Sam complained. Hearing his complain the shadow nearly jumped in anger.
{ There is nothing on my side that can help us. }, Rose came to help Sam. "Most of them, I can't even read. This writing looks quite old", Sam had not learned this world's language and could only speak and understand it on listening.

While they had there attention on the books, the shadow crept behind them slowly and putting a knife on Rose's neck took her hostage.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?", it was a girl, similar to Sam in height was holding a short dagger against Rose neck. She had blonde hairs tied in two buns, aqua eyes and wearing indigo blue large gown having intricate design works on it.
"Why don't we talk while putting away that dagger", he tried to calm the girl but it didn't worked. "Tell me now or I will kill her", she pressed the dagger harder and small drop of blood flowed out.
"Okay, okay. I will tell you", Sam raised his hands in compliance and told all about himself and them coming here. Hearing his story the girl faltered for a second but didn't released Rose. "How can I believe you", Sam showed his adventurer's card to her.
"Okay I will release the girl but if you try to act funny I will kill you", warning them the girl released Rose. "Are you alright", Sam held Rose and cleaned the blood trace on her neck.
"I have told everything about me. You should also introduce yourself", Sam looked in her eyes and asked.
"Fine. My name is Mia", replied the girl with arrogance. "Follow me and I will guide you to an exit route". Sam was dumbfounded at her response. She acted all haughty but was ready to help them. But Haru and Melodia were still missing and he just can't abandon them.
"I am sorry but I have to find my friends first. They have gone missing since we came here". After thinking for some time, Mia agreed to help Sam search for his friends.
She took out a small bell like device and poured her magic into it. A short while later, a maid entered. "Rishia, do you have any news on any intruder".
"None that I am aware of prin..", "Go and ask the chief guard and meet me there", before she can finish her sentence she was interrupted by Mia. After she exited the room, Mia told Sam and Rose to come out. "You heard her. Now let's go", snapping her fingers she also went out.
Sam had no choice but to follow her. They went through a dozen of dark corridors until they arrived in a large room. 'This is the throne room', Sam was confused as to why they were here.
Standing behind the throne, Mia placed her hands on the wall and chanted a spell. A big magic circle formed beneath there feet and they were transported to an underground area.
"If your friends disappeared in the throne room then most likely they were transported here", Mia explained herself. "Huh, but how can.. No, what is this place?", Sam looked around and it looked like a vvip room with a big window facing a large ground. It was an underground arena, a place where they fight and enjoy it.
"Oh my! Look who we have here", a boy came towards them with a big smile on his face. He also had blond face and aqua eyes and was holding a small black fan in his hands. On his waist there were two swords.
"Brother Emile. I am here for sight seeing", he was Mia's cousin. "My little sister had interests in fights. How about I guide you", placing his hands on her shoulder he pulled Mia. "You see, I recently got my hands on two wonderful slaves. They are a bit amateur but for your first fight they are good", saying this he raised his hands and the door in the ground open and two people entered.
"Haru. Melodia", seeing the familiar figure Sam jumped in front. Mia saw Sam's reaction and knew what was going on. 'They must be who he was looking for. But they are under Emile brother's administration', Mia felt bad.
Sam silently watched them fighting without saying anything. Any mistake and things will get more complicated. After the fight he signaled Mia for help. Mia went closer to her brother and talked something. She came back with a dejected look and said, "If you want your friends then you will have to fight in their place and win".
"Huh", Sam couldn't believe this.
